LOCAL TEEN DONATES PATRIOTIC ARTWORK TO BE AUCTIONED AT 16TH ANNUAL LEEK OPEN HOUSE FUNDRAISER TO BE HELD SATURDAY, JUNE 8TH AND SUNDAY, JUNE 9TH
Caiden Lathrop-Roller, a local teen scheduled to graduate from Port Allegany High School this year, has acquired a love of Patriotic Artwork and a sense of respect for our Nation’s Military.

Caiden began drawing at the early age of 6, his artwork quickly transformed to be rooted with a Patriotic theme. This was due, in part to his passion for reading and learning about World War II and admiration for his Uncle Jim Reed who served our Country with the National Guard Infantry…as well as numerous relatives who served in the US Military who also had an impact on his respect for all Veterans.

Caiden’s latest painting (shown with him in photo), is done in acrylic and features a large Eagle and an American Flag, has been sponsored by Larry’s Sport Center, and will be auctioned at the LEEK Open House on Saturday, June 8th 2024. The painting was also a project for his Art Class in High School, it took 2 months of his spare time to complete…for Caiden’s talent, hard work and dedication to the project he was given a perfect score…100%! Caiden has not made a final decision about his future plans, but his family and friends hope his future includes continuing his love of Art and possibly Military Studies.

Caiden is hoping to attend the LEEK Open House to show his painting which will be auctioned between 5pm and 8pm on Saturday, June 8th. There are many events planned for the weekend at the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, 494 SR 244 E, Oswayo, PA 16915. The highlight of the weekend will be the G-Bash and live Auction from 5pm-8pm.
There is a limit of 400 tickets to be sold-as of press time, there are still tickets available at the following locations:

Governor Shapiro & Family Camp Out At Lyman Run State Park, Visit PA Grand Canyon in Potter/Tioga Journey

Governor Josh Shapiro visits the area to promote “The Great American Getaway.”
“We’ve got all the assets here, what we do need to do is invest more to promote them,” he said.

Shapiro launched the state’s tourism rebrand, Pennsylvania: The Great American Getaway, on Monday at PNC Field in Moosic. He returned to Northeastern PA on Saturday to spend time in the Poconos with his family.
Shapiro left the ballpark Monday in a Pennsylvania-branded RV to trek around the state. The Governor — at times joined by Lt. Gov. Austin Davis and at other times his wife and four children — stopped to celebrate Pittsburgh’s selection as the host of the 2026 NFL Draft; hike the Allegheny National Forest; and camp out at Lyman Run State Park in Potter County.
“I’m told I’m the first governor to ever camp out in a state park,” he said.
Shapiro and his family spent Saturday afternoon on a rented boat from Wallenpaupack Boat Tour and Boat Rentals.
