Potter County Farmers Market Friday, September 27th
The Potter County Farmers Market will be outdoors on the square across from the county jail, every Friday (weather permitting) from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The next market will be this Friday, September 27th. Below is a list of who plans to be there and what they plan on bringing to the Market:
* The outdoor market is held each Friday from May through October (weather permitting; on very rainy days, we will relocate into the Riley Gallery (if available)). In November, the farmers market goes indoors for the winter market.
* Market times have been established after many trial times over the years. If you are not able to visit us and would like something particular from one of the vendors, please contact them directly. They are willing to try to accommodate your request.

Myrtle E. Kleiner, age 86 of Elkland, PA

Myrtle E. Kleiner, age 86 of Elkland, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Elmira, NY on December 22, 1937 and was a daughter to the late Clifford George and Eva Lorena (Harvey) Carpenter. Myrtle was also known by her family as “Sooky”, a childhood nickname that stuck around.

Slavador S. Paneda, 70, of Peaceful Lane, passed away Sunday (Sept. 15, 2024) in the Bradford Manor, after a lengthy illness.
Born August 7, 1954, in Rosaio, Philippines, he was a son of Dominador and Fortunata Subala Paneda. He married Yvonne D. Doane, who died Dec. 9, 2012.
He was employed with Ethan Allen Co. of Eldred, and the former Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, before his retirement.

Vera H. ROUNDS, 91, formerly of Harrison Valley, PA, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in Absolut Care, Painted Post, NY.
Born May 7, 1933, in Blossburg, she was the daughter of Herbert F. and Rhoda B. English Friske. On May 28, 1953, in Harrison Valley, she married Harry G. Rounds, who predeceased her on October 23, 1997. Vera was a member of the Harrison Township Ladies Auxiliary, Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the Harrison Township Library Board.
Potter County Training & Operations Officer Earns PEMA Certification

James O’Shea, Training & Ops Officer for Potter County Department of Emergency Services, is upping his credentials. O’Shea earned his Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Staff Associate Certification, the county announced Wednesday.
District Governor, Zachary Covington, Meets With Local Rotaries

District 7280 District Governor, Zachary Covington, visited with local Rotary Clubs Wednesday night at the American Legion in Smethport. Meeting with the District Governor were Rotary Clubs from Bradford, Mt. Jewett, Smethport and Port Allegany. Ben Kirsch, Area Governor served as MC for the event and introduced the District Governor to the clubs. Each Rotary Club president/representative gave a short talk on what their clubs are doing to make a difference in our local communities.
Causer to Hold Satellite Office Hours
BRADFORD – State Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) will hold his satellite office hours on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the following locations:
- Emporium Borough Office – 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Port Allegany Borough Office – 11 a.m. to noon.
Services available include assisting constituents with state-related issues or concerns, assistance with driver license and vehicle registration applications, and help in filling out applications for various state programs, such as the senior citizen Property Tax/Rent Rebate and PACE prescription drug assistance programs.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will conduct a meeting of the Boating Committee on Monday, October 7, 2024, beginning at 10 a.m. This meeting will be held online with committee members participating remotely.

Ricky A. Learn, 56, of 1992 Wayman Branch Rd., Olean passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 23, 2024.
Born on July 7, 1968, in Wellsville, he was a son of Lawrence and Patricia Childs Learn, Sr. On March 28, 1992, in Blackcreek, he married the former Shelley L. Vogel who survives.
He was a graduate of Bolivar Central Schools Class of 1987. He had worked for various farms throughout the years. He was currently employed as a forklift operator for Fitzpatrick and Weller in Ellicottville.
