Potter County Farmers Market
All of November through the week before Christmas, the Potter County Farmers Market will move indoors to the Riley Gallery, next to the Crittenden, on SATURDAY from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The next market will be this Saturday, November 23rd. Here is a list of who plans to be there and what they plan on bringing to the Market:

* There will be no market on November 29th due to the Small Town Christmas celebration in Coudersport. Many of our vendors will be throughout the town.

Lewis Run Man Arrested For Rape
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that a Lewis Run man has been remanded to jail following his arraignment on two separate complaints for charges of Rape, Wiretap Act Violations and other charges. Ray COAST has been charged by Trooper Richard Obermeyer of the Pennsylvania State Police-Lewis Run barracks with committing crimes across a three year period at his home in Lewis Run and within the City of Bradford.
In one complaint, Trooper Obermeyer charges COAST with committing multiple sex acts against a male starting when the male was under the age of 18 over the course of three years.
COAST is charged with Sexual Extortion (5 counts), Rape by Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Rape by Threat of Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse by Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse by Threat of Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Sexual Assault (5 counts), Aggravated Indecent Assault Without Consent (5 counts), Aggravated Indecent Assault by Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Aggravated Indecent Assault by Threat of Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Indecent Assault Without Consent (5 counts), Indecent Assault by Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Indecent Assault by Threat of Forcible Compulsion (5 counts), Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Corruption of Minors, Corruption of Minors – course of conduct of a sexual nature, Furnishing Alcohol to Minors, and Harassment.
By a second complaint, COAST is charged with using a tracking device to stalk the victim. He is, additionally, charged with the Interception of Electronic Communication (wiretap violation relating to tracking device) (2 counts), Stalking (2 counts), Trespass by Motor Vehicle and other offenses. The complaint alleges that the victim reported that he began to see COAST at various locations out of the blue and receive communication from him where COAST would identify the victim’s location without the victim telling him. The victim suspected that COAST was using a tracking device and took his vehicle to a garage where a tracking device was eventually found on the victim’s vehicle.
The complaint asserts that police located video showing COAST at the victim’s vehicle and in the location where the device was located while the vehicle was parked and police were able to track the purchase of the device back to COAST.
COAST was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Engman on one complaint regarding offenses charged at his residence and by Magisterial District Judge Richard Luther on the other case regarding offenses charged within Bradford City. Bail was set at $1 million and $250,000, respectively, with a bail condition of no contact with minors, and COAST was remanded to jail being unable to post the bail.

Port Allegany, PA- Cynthia Ann Carinci “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”
Cynthia A. Carinci, 71, of Route 155 passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Cynthia was born October 31, 1954, in Olean and was the daughter of Byron Elwood and Anna Madelon Marvin Lawson. On November 2, 1974, in Derrick City, she married Mark J. Carinci who predeceased her on March 3, 2021.
Cynthia was a 1972 graduate of Allegany High School. She worked in a couple of places, including the Shop N Save deli in Port Allegany as a baker, and also for the Port Allegany School in the cafeteria until her retirement.
Frances I. Storey, 94, of Coudersport, PA
Frances I. STOREY, 94, of Coudersport, PA, died Saturday, November 15, 2025 in the arms of her husband at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. Born December 14, 1930, in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of James C. and Margaret E. Stanley Truax.
On June 2, 1962, in Coudersport, she married Arthur R. Storey, who survives. She was employed by Motorola in Arcade, NY, Galeton Production, and “Park’s Ark” at Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport. Fran was a member of the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church and active in local bowling leagues.
Surviving besides her husband, Art, are: two children, William (Linda) Kottwitz of St. Marys and Sharon (Ronald) Haskins of Coudersport; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milford Truax of Byron, NY and Winston (Barb) Truax of Shongo, NY; nieces and nephews.

Samuel Friday, 67 of Tyrone Arrested and Remains in Custody — Denied Bail
[State College, PA] This Monday, November 17th, Samuel Friday, a 67-year-old resident of Tyrone, was arrested and remains in custody on denied bail. After receiving a report that Mr. Friday was soliciting underage teenagers for sexual conduct, Trooper Jonathan Hodges and a team from the Pennsylvania State Police quickly obtained a search warrant for Mr. Friday’s Tyrone residence, located in Centre County, and found photographs, video tapes, and electronic storage drives containing sexually explicit material.
Katherine A. “Kathi” HUNT, 61, of Wellsville, NY
Katherine A. “Kathi” HUNT, 61, of Wellsville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by her family following a long battle with cancer. Born on Christmas Day 1963, Kathi was the oldest daughter of Bruce Hunt and Betty (Eugene) Lewis, both of Wellsville.
A 1983 Graduate of Wellsville High School, Kathi spent many years as a home health caregiver and found great pride in her work. Kathi had a special affinity for flower gardening, crafting, and event planning. She shared her many talents with friends and family. Spoiling every furry companion she had over the course of her life, Kathi was a big animal lover and encouraged everyone to “share their yogurt” with them. In her free time, Kathi enjoyed time spent with Greg on “The Hill” cooking out and buggy riding with family and special friends, Jeannine and Art Newman, Mary and Mike Fisk, and Matt “Wildflower” Sturdevant. Spending much of the warmer months on the back of Greg’s Harley, she enjoyed exploring their favorite routes.

Janet H. Dippold, 90, of 105 Wilson Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born March 31, 1935, in St. Marys at her home on Ford Road, daughter of the late Romandus and Mary Nekuza Schreiber. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys High School. She took great pride and joy in her work as cafeteria manager at St. Marys Parochial School, where she retired after thirty-two years.
On May 5, 1956, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Janet married Carl R. Dippold, who survives. They were blessed to share sixty-nine years of marriage.

Margaret M. Floravit, 93, formerly of N. Saint Marys Road, passed away at Elk Haven Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in St. Marys, PA.
She was born on March 29, 1932, in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late August and Magdalene Hoffman Werneth.
On October 25, 1952, she married Thomas Floravit, who preceded her in death on October 16, 2009. Together, they shared almost 57 years of marriage.

He was born on March 1, 1947, in DuBois, PA, a son of the late Herbert and June Lockwood Neil.
On February 25, 1984, in St. Marys, he married Teri M. Meyer, with whom he shared a beautiful life for more than 41 years.

Patricia A. Esterbrook, 73, of Warren, PA., died Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2025, at John & Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, PA. She was born September 14, 1952, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Wayne and Nellie Schatzle Barhight. Patricia was a life-long Warren area resident. She was a 1970 graduate of Warren Area High School. Patricia was employed with the former P.D.M. for 5 years, when they built the St. Louis Arch. She also was employed for 44 years, at Betts Industries as an executive assistant to Richard Betts and was an export coordinator of foreign sales, retiring in 2019. She was an active member at Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing, playing the piano and cello.
Columbia County I-80 Roadside Rest Areas Have Reopened
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that the Columbia County Rest Areas on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound, located at mile marker 246, are opened to traffic.
The rest areas were closed on Thursday, February 20, 2025, to accommodate renovation and construction efforts. Work on the project included updating utilities and bathroom fixtures, installation of a new generator, and the construction of a new sewage treatment plant and buildings. Work on the project was completed under four contracts totaling $6.7 million.

Mildred “Kathy” MATRONE, 82, of Port Allegany, PA, died Monday, November 17, 2025 in her home. Born March 19, 1943, in Port Allegany, she was the daughter of Frank W. and Mildred B. Clark Roller. On June 5, 1959, in Port Allegany, she married Louis J. “Nick” Matrone, who predeceased her on July 24, 2014. Surviving are: a daughter, Louann M. (Jim) Barr of Port Allegany; a granddaughter, Jamie Payne of Port Allegany; her caregiver who was like a granddaughter to her, Jennifer Welder of Port Allegany; a sister, Lois M. Payne of Turtlepoint; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will then be held with Pastor Jim Cannistraci, officiating. Lunch will follow at the church. Burial will be at Hill Cemetery, Roulette, with members of the Roulette Fire Department according Bill’s last call to service.

Weight Restriction Announced for Ellis Road in Fox and Elkland Townships, Sullivan County
Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists in Sullivan County that the entire length of Ellis Road (Route 4006) in Fox and Elkland townships will be posted with a permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restriction.
The posting is being made based on a traffic-and-engineering study indicating that this highway may be damaged by vehicles that exceed the restriction. School buses, emergency vehicles, and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings.
The restriction will be in effect once the required signs are erected by a PennDOT maintenance crew in the upcoming weeks.
Citizens of Tomorrow Program Resumes
We’re pleased to announce that our Citizens of Tomorrow program in which students from Coudersport High School join us for lunch and tell us about themselves and their future plans has resumed.
At our November 17, 2025, meeting, our first group of students joined us at a special luncheon coordinated by Rotarian Julie Jeffers at Sweden Valley Manor. Past Rotary President, Walter Baker, resides at the Manor and was happily able to join us.
Students Alex Duell, Aidan Sandersen and Landin Pekarski, joined us for a pizza and wings lunch and told us about their current activities and future plans.
We look forward to meeting more Citizens of Tomorrow at our future meetings!

Robert L. “Bobby” Lindsey, 65, of Johnsonburg, PA, formerly of Emporium, passed away Tuesday morning (November 18, 2025) at DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, PA. He was born November 27, 1959, in Cuba, New York, a son of the late Raymond and Velma Mosier Lindsey, Jr.
Bobby enjoyed tinkering, fixing things, and working on cars, and he especially loved taking on a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Years ago, he worked in maintenance, where his mechanical ability and willingness to help others were well appreciated.
Crash Closes Route 61 in Shamokin, Northumberland County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that Route 61 is closed in both directions between Eighth Street and Coal Street in the city of Shamokin, Northumberland County, due to a vehicle crash with downed utilities.
A detour using local roads is in place. The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours. Motorists are urged to drive with caution in the area.
