Liberty Tree Planting Kicks off Cameron County 250 Celebration
Cameron County joining counties across the state to celebrate the 250th birthday party for United States. To kick off the year end event in the county, a Liberty Tree will be planted at the Little Museum in Sterling Run on Saturday May 24 at 1:30pm.
The seedling comes from the last remaining tree in Annapolis Maryland. Members of the Sons of Liberty would gather under Liberty trees to plan resistance to the rule of Britain over the colonies. Currently the Cameron County web page https://www.cameroncountypa.com/a250pa/index.php features military men and women who have served the United States.
