OGH Welcomes New Physician Assistant to Orthopaedic Surgery Team

OLEAN, NY — Olean General Hospital (OGH), a Kaleida Health facility, is pleased to welcome Alexis Drake, PA-C, to its orthopaedic surgery team, where she will provide comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions of the upper extremity alongside orthopedic surgeon Dr. Samer Al-Humadi.
A native of the region, Drake brings both professional expertise and a personal commitment to caring for the community she has long called home.
“I’ve always known I wanted to give back to the communities that helped shape me,” said Drake. “Growing up here and completing both my undergraduate and graduate education locally has given me a deep appreciation for the people in this region. It’s incredibly rewarding to now care for my neighbors and help them return to the activities they enjoy.”
Drake earned both her Bachelor of Health Science with a biomedical concentration and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Bonaventure University. During her graduate education, she completed a clinical rotation in orthopedic surgery with Dr. Mohaned Al-Humadi, an experience that strengthened her passion for orthopedic care and ultimately led her to join the practice. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
As an advanced practice provider specializing in orthopedic surgery, Drake evaluates and treats a wide range of upper extremity musculoskeletal conditions. She is dedicated to empowering patients through compassionate, high-quality care while ensuring they understand their diagnosis, treatment options and recovery plan.
“Patient education is one of the most important parts of healthcare,” Drake said. “I want every patient to feel informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment. Seeing someone heal and return to doing what they love is what makes this profession so rewarding.”
Jennifer Rogers, MD, chief medical officer, OGH, welcomed Drake to the growing orthopaedic team.
“Alexis is an outstanding addition to our orthopaedic surgery program,” Dr. Rogers said. “Her clinical training, dedication to patient-centered care and strong connection to our community make her an excellent fit for our team of homegrown professionals. We’re proud to continue expanding access to high-quality orthopaedic services close to home for the communities we serve.”
Outside of caring for patients, Drake enjoys hiking, exercising and spending time with family and friends.
