New Endowed Fund Enhances Shooting Sports at Pitt-Bradford

Alumnus Carlyle Conn makes a gift to support Clays Target Team
BRADFORD, Pa. — Carlyle Conn, a University of Pittsburgh at Bradford alumnus and former competitive marksman, has created an endowed fund to enhance the operations and success of the university’s Clays Target Team. The fund will support student-athletes in being able to compete at a high level while also gaining a high-quality education.
“I was extremely proud to be able to support two things that are very close to my heart, Pitt-Bradford and shooting sports,” Conn says. “The team has gotten off to an amazing start, and I am very pleased to be able to contribute to team members’ growth both on the shooting range and in the classroom.”
The Panthers compete in clay target shooting competitions in multiple disciplines against other collegiate club teams from across the country. The 2025-26 academic year was the team’s first season, and they concluded it by winning both the Mount Aloysius Invitational and the inaugural PA Clay Cup.
Conn attended Pitt-Bradford from 1973 to 1975 before completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He has had a long and successful career in sales and management, first with Allegheny Bradford Corporation, then with its TopLine Division and now with Flow Control Holdings. He also spent many years as a member of the Bradford Gun Club, where he served on the board and participated in competitive trap shooting tournaments both locally and nationally.
“Pitt-Bradford gave me an opportunity to go to college and have an incredibly successful career,” Conn adds. “I am honored to be able to support others in achieving their dreams and to give back to this incredibly special institution.”
