Nancy Marie DeStevens, 57, of Gaines, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Penn Highlands Hospital, DuBois, PA, surrounded by her family. 

Born July 21, 1967 in Coudersport, PA, she was a daughter of the late Carmen “Peanuts” DeStevens and Frances (Pansero) DeStevens, who survives.

Nancy was employed by East Coast Splicing, Inc. in Wellsboro, PA as a secretary.

Surviving are a son, Deven Smithmyer; her mother, Frances DeStevens; a grandson, Augustus Smithmyer; a brother, John DeStevens; and several aunts and many cousins.

Nancy was predeceased by her father, Carmen “Peanuts” DeStevens.

A Memorial Mass will celebrated on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11:00 am St. Eulalia Roman Catholic Church, Coudersport.

The Rev. Joseph Dougherty will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery, Galeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements and the cremation have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Galeton.
