Mark C. “Chinney” Krug, 63 of St. Marys

Mark C. Krug
Oct 12, 1962 — Aug 8, 2026
Mark C. “Chinney” Krug, 63, passed away at Penn Highlands DuBois on Saturday, August 8, 2026, following a short battle with cancer.
He was born on October 12, 1962, in St. Marys, a son of the late Hilary and Lillian McClintick Krug.
Chinney was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 1981. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a man who never met a stranger. He worked for Keystone for many years, as well as Contact Technologies for 18 years and St. Marys Carbon. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Eagles, and the PFL. Mark especially enjoyed watching the birds and animals in his yard, hunting and fishing, and spending time at camp and back at the farm. He was known for being able to tinker with just about anything and was incredibly talented with his hands, always willing to figure out how something worked or find a way to fix it. Chinney’s greatest joy was spending time with the love of his life, Heather, his brother who was his best friend, and his pride and joys Cassie and Katrina. His contagious laugh could brighten any room, and his generous heart made him a friend to everyone he met. Mark would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He shared a special bond with his best friends, Tarz and Lumpy, and treasured his friendship with the Ginther family. His blue truck and tractor were familiar sights and a reflection of the things he loved. Chinney will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor, hard-working spirit, and the countless memories he created with the people and animals he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his laughter, friendship, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Chinney is survived by two daughters; Cassandra Krug (Sean Pease) of Erie and Katrina Krug of Lake City, one sister; Linda (Ed) Feronti, and one brother and best friend; Kenneth Krug.
