Joseph Edward Eastburn, 84, of Galeton, PA

Joseph Edward Eastburn, 84, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home. Born August 27, 1940, in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late Woodward and Mary (O’Connell) Eastburn.
Joe was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On December 22, 1973 in Galeton, he married the former Margaret Sykora, who survives. Joe was self-employed as a canvas manufacturer and was a member of the Galeton Moose, the Kettle Creek Sportsman’s Club and God’s Country Snowmobile Club. He and Maggie spent 6 months a year in Montana and the other 6 months in his beloved Potter County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors.
Surviving are three children, Ronald (Zaiton) Stevens, Wilmington, DE, Cindy (John) Heitz, Elkton, MD and Joseph (Missy Weeks) Eastburn, Galeton; six grandchildren, Ryan, Natalie (Nick), Logan, Dalton (Abby), Travis (Anna), and Parker; a brother, David (Joyce) Eastburn, Wilmington, DE; four sisters, Mary (John) May, Indian River, DE, Sally (Wayne) Shorey, Bear, DE, Gladys (John) McWilliams, Wilmington, DE, and Kathy Eastburn, Indian River, DE; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by a brother, Woodward Eastburn and a sister, Suzanne Hoffman.
Friends may call at the Germania Non-Denominational Church in Germania on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm with Funeral Services following at 12:00pm. Military Honors will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard. Interment will be in Germania Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the interment at The Waldheim of Germania. Memorial contributions may be made to the Germania Fire Company or to the Kettle Creek Sportsman’s Club. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Galeton.
