John M. Sticklin, 87, of Wellsboro
John M. Sticklin, 87, of Wellsboro passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 15, 2025, at home.
He was born February 19, 1938, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Jesse and Ila (Faulkner) Sticklin. He is survived by his wife Janet E. (Obourn) Sticklin.
John was a graduate of Wellsboro High School (Class of 1956). He retired from Dresser Manufacturing and prior to that worked for A&P grocery store. He was a member of St. Paulās Episcopal Church, Wellsboro, Ossea Lodge #317 F&AM, Wellsboro, and was active with the Masonic Lodgeās blood drive. He served 23 years on the Wellsboro Borough Council. He currently served on the Planning Commission and the Airport Authority. John was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Janet, John is survived by a son: Mark of Wellsboro; daughters: Julie of Wellsboro, Amy (Dana Villines) of Fresno, CA; brother: Bunk (Phyllis) Sticklin of Wellsboro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Sticklin.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects from 1-2pm Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.
