Individual Bird Dog Training Clinic To Be Offered In NC PA On 5/16/26

Johnsonburg, Pa.: Do you have a new bird dog puppy and want to get started on basic training? Or do you have a mostly trained dog and want to fine-tune a few actions? The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) Upland Bird Hunt Chapter is proud to announce they will offer an individual, one-on-one, bird dog training clinic on Saturday, May 16, at the Rolfe Beagle Club in Johnsonburg, Pa.
Each dog handler who registers will receive two hours of one-on-one time with an experienced bird dog trainer. You must register your dog in advance so the proper training materials will be available at the Rolfe Beagle Club. Register with Bethany Ford at bjmf989@gmail.com.
“We have three slots left for a dog handler that wants some one-on-one time with their dog and an experienced trainer,” said Bethany. “Our trainers come from plenty of bird dog training backgrounds such as Warriors’ Mark Wingshooting and Midwest Grouse Camps,” Bethany finished.
Registered dogs must be 8 months old as of mid-May, 2026. Registration will be accepted via mail at the Rolfe Beagle Club, 1016 Long Level Road, Johnsonburg, Pa., 15845. Registration must include your name, address, email, breed of dog and dog’s name, and any training needs you may want to work on. You can sign up for the 8:00 a.m. or the 10:30 a.m. start time; reference your preferred time slot.
If you desire to shoot birds over your dog for retrieve training, you must provide your own gun and shells limited to #7 or smaller shot.
The Rolfe Beagle Club has the following training tools: bird bands, whoa table, pigeons, quail, training .22 pistol, frozen rabbits and foxes for furred game drags, bumpers, two wetlands for water retrieves, duck socks, foot release launchers, electronic launchers, and bird tape.
Morning coffee and lunch will be provided by the Rolfe Beagle Club.
