LIVERPOOL, NY—Gregory L. “Greg” Lawton, 58, of Liverpool, formerly of Bolivar, NY passed away unexpectedly in his home from an apparent stroke on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Born on Tuesday, October 5, 1965 in Olean, he was a son of Lynn R. and Nada J. Burger Lawton.
Greg was a graduate of Bolivar High School and later attained his Associate’s Degree in carpentry from Alfred Ag Tech in Wellsville.
Greg was employed as a cabinet maker by One Source Millwork in East Syracuse.
He was a very active member of Northside Baptist Church in Liverpool. He enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents of Bolivar; a brother, Jeffrey L. Lawton of Durham, NC; an aunt, Dolores Burger of Victor; and an uncle, John Wisniewski of Webster.
Greg was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11am to 12 noon on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Obi Community Church, 1948 NY 305, Cuba, NY, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 12 noon with Greg’s pastor, Jeff O’Brien associate Pastor of Northside Baptist Church, and Pastor David Cook of Obi Community Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Greg’s name may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 7965 Oswego Road, Liverpool, NY 13090 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Greg’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa.
