Galeton Weather can be described as a cool and dry month. Many cloudy days too. We did have 16 days with measurable rainfall but not much fell. Morning temperatures ranged from 20 degrees to 54 degrees. 

Afternoon highs were mostly in the mid 50s.  We received 2.57″ of rain and 3″ of snow.  Three mornings we had a trace of snow and we had one morning with 1″ of snow on the ground. Last year the readings were 1.96″ rain and 1″ snow. Even with a very wet August we are short of rainfall. It has been a dry Fall. 

We had 9 very foggy mornings. Pine Creek is low. I have heard it said that winter will not arrive until the streams are running full. Perhaps that won’t hold true this year.

December is forecast to start out very cold. NWS says we may have late January readings. I am sure all mowers can now be put away and snow plow blades can be installed.  Have a Merry Christmas.
