Galeton Weather Report May 2025
The seasons are somewhat mixed up this year for Galeton. This year we had March in April with windy cold weather plus some snow .
In May we experienced April showers and very cool days. Perhaps May flowers will show up in June.
Morning temperatures were mainly in the mid-forties with a few low 50s thrown in. Afternoon readings were mostly in the 50’s and mid 60’s. There was a lot of cloud cover.
May had 18 days with measurable rainfall 6.48″ was measured. Last year we received 5.38″ We had 11 foggy mornings and three thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service reported that statewide it was one of the wettest Mays on record. A few weeks ago southeast Pa. was experiencing drought conditions and they were dealing with flood warnings this week.
Pine Creek looks very good. Many boaters are in the water and fishing is good. I understand there are still some large tagged trout swimming around. Of course the grass is growing nicely. That pleases those who enjoy mowing. Driving around the county this morning it looks like the county is mowed very well. Just like you would see on a golf course.Watch for June flowers.Henry W.
