Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund Supports Local Special Olympics Following Annual Golf Tournament

Members of Fr. Eric Vogt’s family gathered to present a $500 grant from the Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund to Special Olympics of Elk and Cameron Counties following the annual Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Golf Tournament. Also pictured are Aaron Fox, a dear friend of Fr. Eric; Robbie Wehler, Fr. Eric’s cousin and a Special Olympics Elk & Cameron Counties athlete; and Michael Kronenwetter, representing Special Olympics.
The family of Fr. Eric Vogt is continuing his legacy of caring for others through the annual Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Golf Tournament. This year proceeds from the tournament helped provide a $500 grant to Special Olympics of Elk and Cameron Counties through the Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund, a donor advised fund administered by the Elk County Community Foundation.
Fr. Eric was a beloved and active member of the community whose kindness, faith, friendship, and genuine care for others touched many lives. Following his passing, his family established the Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund to keep his memory and spirit of service alive.
Each year, family and friends gather for the memorial golf tournament to raise funds for organizations and causes that reflect what was important to Fr. Eric. This year’s tournament started with a very rainy morning, but the rain stopped just as the tournament began and held off until the event was nearly over. The day also included a hole-in-one by Fr. Eric’s brother, Mike Vogt, on hole #6, while Isaac Vogt won the club toss event.
This year’s $500 grant to Special Olympics of Elk and Cameron Counties continues the tournament’s tradition of supporting local organizations and causes. Special Olympics provides opportunities for local athletes to compete, build friendships, and experience a strong sense of belonging within their community.
The Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund can also be supported throughout the year, not just during the annual golf tournament. Donations help grow the fund and allow Fr. Eric’s family to continue supporting causes that honor his life and legacy.
