‘Farm Safety for Families Day’ Scheduled for September 19 at Elk County Fairgrounds

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An upcoming hands-on educational event, “Farm Safety Day for Families,” hosted by Penn State Extension, will focus on reducing risks and preventing farm accidents.
The event will take place from 9 to 3 p.m. September 19, 2026 at the Elk County Fairgrounds, 316 Dietz Rd., Kersey, PA.
Designed for farm owners, employees, families and youth who work on farms, the event features engaging presentations and demonstrations highlighting essential safety practices, organizers noted.
Topics include chainsaw safety, tractor rollover prevention, ATV/UTV safety, power take-off safety, barn fire safety, and managing farm-related stress
Organizers pointed out that this event will offer practical knowledge to help keep farm operations safe and sustainable for everyone involved.
Penn State Extension is offering this event at no charge to general participants. Preregistration by September 11, 2026, is encouraged.
