At the Coudersport Rotary Club’s August 24, 2026, meeting, Rotarian Bob Kuhl introduced Kelly Harrison, Director of Potter County Domestic Relations, as its guest speaker. Harrison, formerly employed at Electri-Cord, and then as Assistant Director before being promoted to Director, brings youthful vigor and networking skills to the Domestic Relations office.

Harrison said that the Domestic Relations Office is not just about child support. It is there because children deserve the support of both parents. The office can assist in locating absent parents and in establishing paternity. If a child is born out of wedlock, the father can sign an Acknowledgement of Paternity. If need be, genetic testing is offered at $22 per person ( possible parents and the child).

The Office is responsible for enforcement and modification of support orders. They also establish and enforce medical support obligations. They work through the courts, and are responsible to the County, and through the County to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and through the Commonwealth to the Federal Government.

During the period from January through June 2026, over $660,000 in child support payments were processed through their office.

Recently the Potter County Commissioners declared August as Child Support Awareness Month.

Staff attend yearly conferences for training. They interact with other offices to share strategies. They will be co-hosting a smaller regional conference with Tioga County in 2027.

She described what she does as “hard work but heart work.” Her office deals with frustrated parents and parties, helping them navigate the system. They are there to help parents meet their responsibilities to their children.

The Coudersport Rotary Club appreciated Kelly Harrison’s presentation and the opportunity to learn more about the important services provided by the Potter County Domestic Relations Office.
