Charles E. Weimar, 92, formerly of Wellsboro
Charles E. Weimar, 92, formerly of Wellsboro passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle. He was born May 4, 1932, in Philadelphia, the son of the late William A. Eckert and Emma (Weimar) Eckert. He married C. Elsie May Weimar on October 2, 1954 and celebrated 42 years of marriage until her passing on May 29, 1997.
Charles worked 23 years as a stationary engineer for Arnot-Ogden Hospital, Elmira and a veteran of the Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Wellsboro, then later a member of the Liberty Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Sunrise Lodge #288 F&AM, Toms River, NJ, Tioga Lodge #273 F& AM, Wellsboro, The Coudersport Consistory, The Mary Wells #452 O.E.S., Wellsboro, and a past Worthy Matron. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by children: Karen (Terry) Niles of Mechanicsburg; Randolf (Laura) “Randy” Weimar of New Milford; Earl (Betsy) Weimar of Wellsboro; and Tammy (Phil) Marth of Boyertown; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Elsie, and parents, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Youngs, and wives: Jean Rumsey Weimar, and Marion Smith Weimar.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects from 11am – 1pm Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, A masonic service, an Eastern Star Service, and a funeral service will follow starting at 1pm. Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery, Wellsboro. The family suggest memorial contributions in Charles’ name be made to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org.
