Velma T. Gross, 91, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Cedar Road, St. Marys, PA, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.

C. Eugene Blum, 85, of Warren, PA, formerly of Youngsville, died on Saturday November 26, 2022, in St. Vincent Hospital Erie, PA.
Gene was born in Sheffield, PA, on November 18, 1937, the son of the late Michael and Mary Scersko Blum.
He was employed for the former Struthers Wells Corporation for 35 years as a grinder, and crane operator, retiring from there in 1993. Gene also worked part time for the U.S Forest Service as a senior employee and worked on the construction of the Kinzua Dam and the Sheffield Sewage Plant. He was an avid fisherman and loved taking trips to Old Forge, NY and Lake Placid, NY.
He was a member of St. Luke’s R.C. Church, Youngsville. On July 3, 1965, he married Rose E. Lucia, they spent 56 loving years together before her passing in June of this year.
Eugene is survived by his loving son Christopher S. Blum of Warren; one sister Mary Louise Burns and husband Larry, of Sheffield; two nieces; one nephew and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gene was preceded in death by one son Angelo E. Blum.

Terry R. Clark, 61, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, PA passed away in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, on Saturday, November 26, 2022, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Donald L. Black, “Blackie”, 82, of Port Allegany, PA passed away Saturday (November 26, 2022) at Home in Port Allegany.
He was born January 28, 1940 in Port Allegany, the son of Sheridan and Dorothy (Kellner) Black. On November 24, 1990, in Coudersport, he married Alene E. Crandall, she survives.
Mr. Black was a Tank and Batch Operator, employed by Pierce Glass Co..in Port Allegany for 37 years, retiring in 2005.
Mr. Black was a member of the Moose Lodge #460, of Port Allegany and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a Pittsburgh Pirate fan.

Port Allegany, PA – Ann Forssell Kanally died of natural causes on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home in Bradford, PA. She was 96.
The only child of Louis A.V. and Ruth Anderson Forssell, she was born in Titusville, PA on October 31, 1926. She and her parents made their permanent residence in Erie, PA in 1928. She was a graduate of Academy High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Villa Maria College, now merged with Gannon University in Erie.
On June 11, 1949, she married Donald E. “Dek” Kanally at Bethany Lutheran Church in Erie, and moved to Port Allegany, where she resided for nearly 70 years. Her final years were spent in the care of the Bradford Ecumenical Home in Bradford, PA.
Her teaching career began in Conneaut, OH, and resumed in 1961 at the Port Allegany High School, where she was a business education teacher and a counselor for thirteen years. She then filled the position of Director of Management Services and Nonpublic School Services Coordinator at Seneca Highlands Intermediate Unit IX, until her retirement in 1993.
She was a member, deacon and choir member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Port Allegany. She was also associated with the PA Association of School Business Officials, Delta Kappa Gamma, and served as a board member of the McKean County Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
She enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, spending time with her grandchildren, keeping alive some of the family’s Swedish traditions, and the joy of special friendships.
Her beloved husband, Dek, passed away on March 21, 2021. She is survived by her son David (Cheryl) Kanally of Coppell, TX, son Kevin Kanally of Derrick City, granddaughter Lauren, grandsons Brian, Eric and Jamos, and extended family Terry, Sally and Quentin Claypool.
Friends, former students and colleagues are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, at the First Presbyterian Church of Port Allegany with Garen Smith officiating. An opportunity to visit with the family and enjoy a light luncheon will follow the service in the social area of the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Port Allegany, following the luncheon.

Joan L. Leviski, 87, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of Beech Road, St. Marys, PA passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 in DuBois following a brief illness.
She was born on June 9, 1935 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Ivan and Genevieve DeGroat Snyder.
On November 12, 1960, in Queen of the World Church, she married the late Vincent M. Leviski, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2011. Together they shared more than 51 years of marriage, and Joan joined him in Heaven exactly 11 years later.
Joan was a graduate of Central High School and was a member of Queen of the World Church. Over the years, she was employed at Loblaw’s and Bell’s. In her free time, Joan enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 3 children; David (Diane) Leviski of Ellicott City, MD, Stacey (Dave Pisani) Iorfida of Johnsonburg, and Amy (Rick) Hoyt of Johnsonburg. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Laura (Matt) Hyde, Michael (Shirley) Leviski, Miranda (Kyle) Fauls, Ryan Hoyt, Zach Iorfida, and Edward Pisani, and by three great-grandchildren; Harlyn, Louie. and Andrew, and was anticipating the birth of her fourth great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister; Miriam “Jean” Elmquist.

David B. Gutowski, 79, of Greenbriar Drive, Kersey, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois, surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born May 10, 1943, in Force, PA, son of the late John P. and Irene Benini Gutowski, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Boniface Grade School and Fox Township High School which consolidated to St. Marys Area High School, where he graduated in 1961. He attended DuBois Business College, where he earned a degree in Accounting and Business Administration.
On October 27, 1962, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jo Rigard, who survives.
Dave was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam Era. While in the Air Force, he was assigned to bases in San Antonio, TX, Biloxi, MS, and Syracuse, NY. He was assigned temporary duty in Watertown, NY and a year at Sparrevohn, AK in the Alaskan Air Command. His duty was in the Aircraft Control and Warning Field where he assisted officers with the control of fighter aircraft to secure the safety of U.S. Northern borders. He served four years active duty and two years inactive reserve. He was discharged honorably as a Staff Sargent.
He worked at several businesses related to computers and management, retiring in 2013 from Eastern Sintered Alloys as sales manager after 25 years of service. He also worked part-time at Riverside/BiLo for 10 years.
Dave had a true love for his country and his community where he was a faithful parishioner of the St. Boniface Church and former member of the St. Boniface Parish Council. He also was a former member of the Fox Township Sewer Authority and past member of the APMI Board of Directors. He was a member of the CMF and American Legion Post 511.
He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s activities and loved being outdoors. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger. He particularly enjoyed the family vacations to Myrtle Beach and the adventures with his wife driving across the country.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters: Sharon Barbazzeni and Pamela Smith (Timothy), both of St. Marys; two sons: Dean A. Gutowski and David M. Gutowski (Marjorie), both of St. Marys; seven grandchildren: Adam Barbazzeni (Jessica), Joel Barbazzeni (Katie), Andrew Smith (Gennavieve), Marcella Smith, Alexander Smith, Allison Gutowski, and Luke Gutowski; three great-grandchildren: Angelo Barbazzeni, Mayzee Barbazzeni, and Theodora Smith; two sisters: Veronica Sterbank (John) of Kersey and Mary Carbonara (Ronald) of State College; a brother Michael Gutowski (Catherine) of Mercer, PA; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Gutowski of Rochester, NY; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, John Gutowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Jane M. Nelson, 102, a resident of the Rouse Estates, Warren, PA passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. She was born February 19, 1920, in Warren, PA., to the late John H. and Kathryn Hartz Steinkamp. She was a former resident of Mill Street, and resided in Warren, her entire life.
Jane had been employed with the former G.T.E. Sylvania, Warren State Hospital and did private duty nursing. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Warren Moose Lodge 109.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Barb Lewis (nee Lester) and husband, Bill of Chesapeake, VA., her daughter-in-law, Kim Lester of Cheektowaga, N.Y., 3 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, 5 Stepchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Norman Nelson, whom she married in 1970, who died May 18, 1989, her son, Kirt Lester who died May 27, 2006, brothers, Paul and John Steinkamp, sisters, Carolyn Timmis McChesney, Jean Kintner (her twin), Anne and Margaret Steinkamp.

Jacqueline M. Anderson, 70, of Ridgway, PA died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at her home.
She was born on November 19, 1952, in Erie, a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Cooney Waldo.
On September 17, 1976, she married the late Charles L. Anderson, who preceded her in death on August 30, 2018. Together they shared more than 42 years of love, laughter, and marriage.
Jacqueline lived in Ridgway for more than 40 years and was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and worked at Ridgmont for many years. Jacqueline spent her time baking, cooking, and raising her pets. She had a special love for her friends and family, especially her loving husband of more than 42 years.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Tammy L. Anderson of Ridgway, Charlene A. Anderson of Ridgway, and Melissa D. Anderson of Ridgway, 1 son; Charles L. Anderson and his wife Amy of Johnsonburg, 5 grandchildren: Erica, Harley, Isabella, Charles, and Nikolina. Leila F. Slocum, 89, formerly of 63 Evens Road, Eldred, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, PA.
She was born September 27, 1933 in Bolivar the daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Marsh) Fanton. In 1955 she married Douglas Slocum, who predeceased her on March 28, 1990.
Leila was a 1952 graduate of Bolivar High School. She was employed at the Little Genesee Library and taught Quilting Classes, (which were her passion) for several years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 97, in Portville.
She is survived by two sons, William (Rhonda) Slocum of Wellsville, and Edward Slocum of Johnson City, TN, two daughters, Mary (Steve) Langworthy of Eldred, and Carolyn (James) Shields of Shinglehouse, PA, eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant brother, Buster Fanton, and a sister, Ruth Kenyon.

Karen M. Murray, 42, of Shinglehouse, PA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in the Olean General Hospital.
Karen was born on June 16, 1980 in Coudersport, PA to Frederick E. Murray, Jr. and Robin L. Wenner Murray. It was not only a self-proclamation by Karen, but also said by many others that she was the most beautiful baby in the world.
Karen was a graduate of the Oswayo Valley High School Class of 1998 and a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She spent her life caring for her beloved nephew, Carter and niece, Lily, who were her pride and joy. Karen also assisted her mom and sister with their Scentsy and Pampered Chef businesses. Having received a life-saving kidney transplant from her father in 2000, she was an advocate for organ donation. She was well known for her mad braiding skills. She was considered a human GPS by family and friends, which came in handy as she trekked across the country to attend Carter and Lily’s sporting events and other activities. She was always up for a family road trip and whatever adventure her sister dreamp up, with their most recent being ballet lessons.
Karen’s passion was serving her family and friends. She loved cooking and baking for others especially her family and sharing her secrets in the kitchen with her niece, Lily. She gave generously of her time and talents and not just to those close to her. Her loving and giving ways expanded out into not only her local community, but across the nation as well. Karen was a life member of the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Association and was currently serving as treasurer and associate treasurer, respectively. She was the Fundraiser Coordinator and served as the Junior Fireman Advisor. Karen’s history of kidney disease and pulmonary hypertension made her a staunch supporter of the American Kidney Association and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. She was active in online support groups to assist others in their own journeys with these illnesses.
Karen is dearly loved and deeply missed by her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her father; sister and best friend, Christi L. (Brian) Stedman; nephew Carter W. Stedman; niece Lily B. Stedman, both of Shinglehouse; loving companion, Dustin J. Small; and her precious Bully Baby, Dallas.
Karen will be remembered for her strength, tenacity, fierce loyalty, unending kindness, infectious laugh, and her positive attitude and perseverance to overcome whatever life threw at her. While small in stature, her personality was huge. Despite her lifelong health issues, she never complained; instead, she immersed herself in helping and supporting others.
Karen was predeceased by her loving mother, Robin Murray, her brother, Anthony James “AJ” Murray, her maternal and paternal grandparents, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Mary Ann Stemberger, 90, of Hacker St. in Kane, PA passed away Wednesday (Nov. 23) at the Lutheran Home at Kane. She was born on Jan. 2, 1932 in Crosby, the daughter of the late Antonio and Frances (Jakietic) Stemberger.
Mary Ann had worked as a secretary for Stackpole before her retirement. She was a member of St. Callsitus Catholic Church.
Surviving relatives include two nieces, Barbara Anderson of Kane and Debbie Gezick of James City; a great niece Chelise (Joe) Gentile of Kane; two great great-nieces, Shana Rutkowski and Alysha Biel; a great great-nephew, Cameron Biel; a sister, Doris Tillander of Brooklyn, NY and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Thomas and Veda Walker and two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Stemberger.

Delores E. Kinney, 93, passed away early Wednesday morning (Nov. 23) at the Bradford Pavilion, where she had resided for the last several years. She was born on March 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Earl Himes and Mamie Hayes Himes. On Sept. 30, 1950 she married Gerald E. Kinney, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kinney had worked in the cafeteria at Stones Manor in Smethport and also at the Sena Kean Manor.
She is survived by seven sons, Barry (Darlene) Kinney of Kane, Ronald (Jackie) Kinney of Pittsfield, Robert Kinney of Bradford, Gerald Kinney Jr.(Annette) of Woodbridge, VA, Timothy (Mary Kay) Kinney of Hazel Hurst, Ricky Kinney of Bradford and Daniel (Robin) Kinney of Mt. Jewett; three daughters, Sarah (Don) Bickford of Smethport, Deborah (Rick) Archer of Roulette and Donna Torres of Smethport; 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Clayton, Bud, Marvin, Ron and Dan Himes and three sisters, Jean Lawrence, Gerry Henderson and Ellen Dibler.

Carlotta (Caroline) Addeo, 99, of Ridgway, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and her faithful pet Lucky who was by her side until the end.
She was born on June 29th 1923, in Ridgway, daughter of Michael and Pasqualina Minelli Ritucci.
On September 21, 1946 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church she married John “Bert” Addeo who preceded her in death on January 8th, 2002.
Carlotta lived in Ridgway all her life and was a graduate of St. Leos High School. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She worked at the Elliot Company as a young girl, at Elk County hospital, and at Brody’s dress shop. She was a member of the CD of A, Blue Army, the Sodality, and the Alter Guild at St. Leo’s Church.
Throughout her years she loved crocheting afghans and doilies for everyone in her family. She enjoyed doing yardwork and feeding her wild animals and she always looked forward to spending time at the family camp and dancing the polka. Caroline absolutely loved her family and cherished each moment she shared with them.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Bernadine Myers (Ron) of Ridgway and her loving son Francis (Debbie) Addeo of Johnsonburg. Seven grandchildren John (Tara) Frank, Michelle (Dan) Howard, Jamie (Scott) Shaffer, Kelly Addeo, Russ (Sara) Myers, Angela Myers (Scott Mertz), and Brandon Myers. Sixteen great-grandchildren, Carlotta Swanson, Elizabeth, Ben, William, and Frank Howard, Chloe and Riley Frank, Dominic Addeo Shaffer, Nick, Lily and Olivia Myers, Mackenzie, Cadence, Desiree, Addison, and Baleigh Mertz.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded into death by her grandson Frank Clark, three brothers Patsy, Joseph, and Nicolas Ritucci, and her two sisters Lena O’Neill and Sanny Tettis.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carlotta E. Addeo will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00AM at St. Leo Magnus Catholic Church, 111 Depot Street with Fr. Justin Pino, Pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Leos Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Gary David Hughes, 63, of Clarendon, went to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, November 11, 2022, at his residence.
Born October 11, 1959, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary Jane (Johnson) Hughes.
He attended Bradford Area Schools and enlisted in the United States Army on January 29, 1978. He served until his honorable discharge on July 3, 1990.
Gary was an independent truck driver and owner/operator of Hughes Trucking.
He enjoyed watching wrestling, NASCAR racing, being in nature and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Surviving are his two daughters, Stacy Perry, of Zebulon, NC, and Mary Jane (Adam Anaya) Hughes, of Mooresville, NC, one son Joe (Madelyn) Hughes, of Mooresville, NC, eight grandchildren, two great grandsons, one sister, Paula Stuart, of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Bennett, brother, Frank William, infant nephew, Frankie Hughes, and his loyal companion, his dog Apollo.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, in the Evans Memorial Church, 1447 South Ave, Lewis Run, where at 2:00 PM a Celebration of Life will be held with Rev. Jay Tennies, officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the church with the United States Army and American Legion Post 108 honor guards.

Phyllis M. JOHNSON, 94, of Galeton, PA, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Broad Acres Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro.
Born August 8, 1928, in West Pike, she was the daughter of Casper and Vinney Kephart Foley. In January of 1950, in Galeton, she married Robert W. “Pete” Johnson, who predeceased her on December 29, 2013. She attended the one room school in West Pike through eighth grade and graduated from Ulysses High School. Phyllis was employed by Galeton Production. Phyllis was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galeton.
Surviving are: a son Michael Johnson of Galeton; two granddaughters, Melanie (Chad) Shuemaker and Amy Johnson, both of Galeton; a great-grandson, Matthew McCullough; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.

Richard J. “Dick” English, age 94, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
He was born on November 22, 1928 a son of the late Jason E. and Evelyn (Buckingham) English and was married for 17 years to Joyce (Henry) English. Dick retired from Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY and was a member of Wellsboro VFW Post # 4907 and Wellsboro Lodge # 1147 Loyal Order of Moose.
He was predeceased by his first wife: Nadine English and his second wife: Kathryn English.
Dick is survived by his wife: Joyce H. English, son: Mike (Pam) English of Wellsboro, PA, daughter: Robin Corse of Wellsboro, PA, granddaughter: Bailey Corse of Wellsboro, PA, step children: Natalie (Francis) Kennedy of Wellsboro, PA, Sandra (Kevin McCall) Buchko of Susquehanna, PA, Dolly (Glenn) Thomason, Del (Debbie) Schriner, Jr., Cheryl (Jeff) Beckman all of Wellsboro, PA, 10 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson: Jason “JR” English.

Susan “Sue” Marie (Larson) Emery, 70, of Clarksburg, WV and formerly of Bradford, PA passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Bridgeport, WV.
Born August 30, 1952, in Bradford, the daughter of the late John “Emil” and Helen (Ludwig) Larson.
Sue was a graduate of Bradford Area High School, class of 1970. She worked many places throughout the Bradford community and retired from Zippo.
On April 9, 2016, in Mesa, AZ, she married Timothy Emery, who survives.
She enjoyed bowling, the Buffalo Bills, traveling, golfing, collecting home interior bears, patio parties with her Canadian friends, attending live events such as concerts and baseball games, & most importantly spending time with family. She was a friend to all and had a loving way about her. If you knew Sue, you knew she enjoyed a very simple life.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Tim, are one son Brian (Sarah) Larson of Bradford, one daughter Lindsay Larson of Conroe, TX, five grandchildren, SPC Gavyn Larson, Londyn Holden, Fabian Sherk, Jr., Ezenna Anakoro and Amara Anakoro, three brothers, Daniel Larson, Chris Larson and Timothy (Kathryn) Larson, nieces, nephews, cousin, and her dog, Pepper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jean Ann Wilkins.
Family will be planning a Celebration of Life to be held in 2023.

Marlowe H. Haas, 98, of of Guy and Mary Felt Manor and formerly of Moore Hill Rd, Emporium, PA passed away at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Tuesday morning (November 22, 2022). She was born February 1, 1924 in Bowmanstown, PA, a daughter of the late J. Franklin “Frank” and Esther Haines Arner. On April 13, 1946 in Leather Corner Post, PA she married the late James W. Haas.
Mrs. Haas graduated from St. Lukes School of Nursing in Bethlehem, PA in the class of 1944. She was a member of the NRA and the Republican National Committee.
She is survived by a son, Nelson Haas (Rose), Emporium; daughter-in-law Janet Haas; five grandchildren: Christopher, Rachel, Matthew, Rebecca and Seth, seven great grandchildren: Anna, Jed, Katrina, Nicholas, Brianna, Warren and Roselyn.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marlowe was preceded in death by a son, Leslie J. Haas and a sister, Marian Jones.
There will be No Visitation. Service and burial will be held privately with the family.
Robert E. Sherwood, 72, of Seneca Drive, Port Allegany, PA passed away peacefully, Monday (Nov. 21, 2022) in UPMC Shady Side Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born April 15, 1950, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Eugene V. and Elizabeth Z. Hoffman Sherwood.
Robert was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from the Port Allegany High School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army.
He was employed with several area companies: Ball Corp. and Pittsburgh Corning Co., both of Port Allegany, GKN of Emporium, and most recent as a CNC operator with Case Cutlery Co., of Bradford, before having to retire.
Robert was a member of the VFW, Post 6391, Port Allegany. He was an outdoors person who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
Surviving is a son, Shawn R. Sherwood of Port Allegany; a daughter, Christie L. (Mark) Willcox of Port Allegany; six grandchildren: Jocelyn Lilly and Bria Willcox, both of Port Allegany, Bryce and Cameron Sherwood, both of Lewis Run, Carter Billyard of Port Allegany, and Kinsley Sherwood of Coudersport; a brother, Steven W. (Marlena) Sherwood of Port Allegany; two sisters, Betty G. Springer and Vivian L. Lamont, both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Karen M. Murray, 42, of Shinglehouse, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, N.Y.

Beverly J. Higley, 90, a longtime resident of Coudersport, PA passed away with her loving daughter by her side on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born on Saturday, September 24, 1932 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of LeRoy and Doris Haynes VanDruff. On June 6, 1954 in Ceres, she married Donald D. “Don” Higley, who passed away on November 26, 2013.
Beverly was a graduate of Wellsville (NY) High School.
She was a longtime member and deaconess of the Coudersport Alliance Church. She was a devoted volunteer and supporter of the Alliance Food Bank. Beverly enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Her greatest loves were the Lord and her family.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, Stuart E. (Virginia) Higley of Lakeland, Florida; a daughter, Ann E. Horn of Coudersport; a grandson, David E. Horn of Coudersport; a granddaughter, Cristy L. Higley of Huntington Beach, California; three great-grandchildren, Darian, Joshua, and Isabella; a sister, Rose Cox of Geneseo, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was predeceased by an infant daughter, Naomi Sue Higley.

M. Carol Wismar, 86, of Horner Rd., Wilcox, PA died early Tuesday afternoon, November 22, 2022 at her residence following a short illness.
She was born August 2, 1936 in Wilcox a daughter to the late Linus and Margaret Pavlina Nearing. On January 31, 1958 in St. Anne Church, Wilcox she married James E. Wismar. He preceded him in death on January 9, 2021.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Wilcox, a 1958 graduate of Wilcox High School and was a member of St. Anne’s Church. Carol received a Medal from the US Air Force in 1959 as an Honorary Life Member of the Air Defense Team for Voluntary and Faithful Service in the Ground Observer Corps. for her 8 years of service from 1951 to 1959. Along with her husband, she had worked for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for many years. Devoted to her family, she loved spending time together, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to crochet, flower garden and the backyard birds around her home.
Carol is survived by her children; Wayne Wismar and his wife Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Donald Wismar and his wife Julie of Wilcox and Tricia, Mrs. Steve Brendel of Wilcox. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters; Sharon Nearing of Wilcox, Raymond Nearing of Wilcox, Patricia Stauffer of Wilcox and Linus Nearing of Lake City and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Carol Wismar to be conducted at St. Anne’s Church, Wilcox on Friday November 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as officiant. Interment will be in Wilcox Cemetery.
