Jolene R. Wolfe, 58, of Wilcox, PA, passed away at her home on Friday, January 6, 2023, following a short illness.
She was born on January 9, 1964 in DuBois, PA, a daughter of the James L. Amitrone and Virginia “Rita” Tamburlin Amitrone, who survives of Brockway.
On March 24, 1984, at Johnsonburg PA, she married the late David A. Wolfe, who preceded her in death on December 30, 2016.
Jolene was a 1982 graduate of Brockway High School and then earned her LPN degree, working over the years at DuBois Hospital, Elk County General Hospital, and Kane Lutheran Home. She retired in 2011 as the Health and Safety Administrator for Owens-Illinois in Brockway. An avid gardener, Jolene loved spending time outdoors, visiting the coast of Maine, being active, and hiking. She was a talented weaver, often creating beautiful textiles on her loom. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by 2 daughters; Kara Bauer and her husband Devin of St. Marys and Kala Wolfe of Seattle, WA; by two grandchildren; Lyla and David, and by her companion; Lance Hasney of Wilcox.
She is also survived by three siblings; Teresa (John) O’Herron, Deborah (Kevin) Wain, and James (Sherry) Amitrone, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Jolene R. Wolfe will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

Roberta J. “Bobbe” Blessel, 74, of 40 West Fifth Street, Emporium, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her brothers, sister and sister-in-laws at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Saturday morning (January 7, 2023) following a brief illness.
She was born September 30, 1948 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of
the late John and Norma Stewart Gore. On April 18, 1970 in Warren, PA. she married the late Melvin Blessel who died May 14, 2000.
Bobbe graduated from Cameron County High School in 1966 Upon graduation she worked in the office at Sylvania in Emporium than in the office complex at Speer Carbon in St. Mary’s
She and husband Mel moved to Kansas where she worked in the banking business where they purchased a tavern. After selling the tavern they returned to Emporium and opened up a women and children’s store. Having a passion for resale shops she opened up her own which grew into performing estate appraisals for area banks. Eventually she went into the furniture business with her husband, maintaining two stores one in Emporium and another in St. Mary’s. She was an avid bowler for many years. Upon retirement she pursued her lifelong passion of crafting and selling her wares at numerous festivals while spending time with her beloved pet pug “Dudley.” Bobbe always had a smile for everyone she saw and her door was always open for a friendly chat with all her dear friends at the Maple Street apartments.
She is survived by one son Paul Blessel, her two brothers, Terry (Mary) Gore, Ned (Irene) Gore of St. Mary’s and one sister Susan Hoy of Cameron, grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband and two brother-in-laws, Donal Hoy and Kenneth Blessel.

David M. White, 81, of Warren, PA, passed away on Friday January 6, 2023, in Warren General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Warren, Pa, on June 7, 1941, the son of the late Harry E. White and Mary Grace Smith. David attended Warren High School. After high school he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and served his country from 1958 through 1962 during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Military, he returned to Warren and worked several jobs before starting his own Excavating Business. David welcomed his son Randy to the business after high school and they worked together for over 30 years.
David was very active in the Republican Committee of Warren, was a former board member with Warren County Memorial Park and volunteered his time with numerous groups throughout Warren County. He loved to travel, go boating, and enjoyed time with his family and friends.
On April 11, 1963, he married the former Tanya C. Branch, and they spent the next 59 loving years together and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this April.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children David, Randy, Patricia, and Correy; one grandchild Zakia; and one brother Richard White and wife Lynn.
David was preceded in death by his sister Nancy.
Private burial will be held in Warren County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. A memorial of David’s life will be held at a later date. Samantha J. “Sam” Carlson, 47, of Ridgway, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on June 22, 1975, in St. Marys, a daughter of Christine Robinson Papson and Timothy Schloder.
On June 23, 1996, in Ridgway, she married Chad Carlson, who survives.
Sam has been a resident of the area for many years and a graduate of Greater Latrobe Area High School. She loved spending her time with her family and baking. She had a fond heart of animals, especially her cats.
In addition to her husband, mother,and father, she is survived by a son, Derek S. Carlson of Ridgway, 2 sisters, Carolyn Baker and her husband Lance of Derry, PA and Rose Hixson and her husband David of Latrobe, PA, numerous, aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a step-father, Joseph Papson.

Barbara Ann Lowe Koebley, age 85, of Gibsonia PA and formerly of Warren PA passed away peacefully on Saturday January 7, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Robert William, loving mother of Scott (Sarah) and Keith (Christine), proud grandmother of Sean (Lauren), Samuel (Virginia), Anna (Jonathan), Shelby and Nicholas, dear great-grandmother of Eli Joseph, Rushton Lowe and Robert James, sister of Nancy Hancher (Robert) and the late Robert Lowe Jr. (Frances Dee) , and devoted daughter of the late Ethel Grace Seibert and Robert Lowe.
Barbara was raised in Coraopolis PA after her birth on November 18, 1937 and spent most of her adult life living in 7 different homes in the Warren area. She was a graduate of Coraopolis High School and Grove City College, where she met the love-of-her-life Robert. Barbara, known to family and friends as Barbie, had a deep faith while being a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and the First Presbyterian Church in Bakerstown PA for the past 9 years. She was a Choir member for over 40 years at First United Methodist while serving other commissions there. Besides church ministries that she contributed her time and talents, she volunteered over the years for the Friends of Struthers Library Theatre Board, Warren Garden Club, Blue Stocking Club, Antique Study, League of Women Voters, among others. Barbara applied her exceptional skills in office management and interpersonal communications to organizations she worked for, including the Warren County School District, Coates, Way and Anderson CPA’s, R.W. Larson Associates, Struthers Wells Corporation and The Chautauqua Institution.
Barbie made lasting friendships with all she met including her co-workers, neighbors, congregation members and St Barnabas caregivers. Even though she struggled remembering names and words over the past three years after a series of strokes and falls, she greeted everyone with her infectious smile, generous acts and kind words. Her loving spirit will be truly missed by all she touched in her full life.
A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Warren at a later date in Spring 2023. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden at the church next to her late husband Robert. Audrey J. Shaffer-Eidson, 91, formerly of 59 Limestone Street, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born October 21, 1931, in Salamanca, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles Floyd and Elva (Sweet) Knight. She was a 1949 graduate of Bradford High School.
On December 21, 1950, in Bradford, she married Robert L. Shaffer who died November 27, 1990. On June 19, 2010, in the Grace Lutheran Church, she married Raymond L. Eidson who survives.
Audrey along with her first husband Bob owned and operated Shaffer Family Camper Sales for many years on Limestone Street. She had worked at Bradford Regional Medical Center in the cafeteria.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had previously been a member of the East End Presbyterian Church and was a Lioness with Bradford Township Lions Club. She has been a volunteer at Care for Children for 8 years.
Surviving is her husband Ray of 12 years, and three sons, Stephen R. (Faith) Shaffer, of Bradford, Ronald (Sue) Shaffer, of Bradford, and Mark (Diane) Shaffer, of Mystic, CT, two stepchildren, David Eidson, of Phoenix AZ, and Valerie (Gene) Johnson, of Bradford,12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Bob of 40 years, one son, Randy K. Shaffer, who died December 16, 2010, one great granddaughter, Abrielle Jean Shaffer, and two sisters, Doris Shoup and Lenora Downs.

On Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:15 PM surrounded by family, our precious husband and dad, Eugene N. “Gene” MILLER, ran into heaven.
His passing was peaceful, beautiful, and quick. Born April 21, 1951, in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Alvin B. and Ethel Newcomer Miller. On June 16, 1973, in Altoona, PA, he married the former Sharon Grove, who survives. A 1969 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he earned a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Penn State in 1973. In 1976, he graduated from Elim Bible Institute with a diploma in Bible and Ministry. He served as administrator of Penn-York Camp in Ulysses, PA from 1973 – 2006. Gene co-pastored and pastored at Yorks Corners Mennonite Church from 1977 – 2022. He was conference minister of New York Mennonite Conference form 2009 – 2017. He was employed as a bus driver by Wellsville Central School for over ten years. His primary vocation was always husband and dad.
Surviving besides his wife, Sharon, are: three children, Joel (Rebekah) Miller of Kitchener, Ontario, Joanna (Aaron) Clark of Whitesville, and Jonathan (Grace Dowd) Miller of Melfa, VA; four grandchildren, Alex, Olivia, Graham, and Ava; a number of others who call him Grandpa Miller; two brothers, Donald N. (Jeanette) Miller of Ulysses, PA and Harold N. (Karen) Miller of Broadway, VA; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by an infant sister, Karen Joy Miller.

John A. “Moose” Lafferty, 81, of Duke Center, PA passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Bradford Manor.
He was born on February 14, 1941 in Olean, NY, a son of the late Alfred and Violet Bennett Lafferty.
He was a 1961 graduate of the Smethport High School.
On December 31, 1972 in Bradford; he married Evelyn G. Tobin who preceded him in death on February 8, 2007. On April 12, 2008 in the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, he married Delores M. Goodwin who survives.
John was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. He loved singing gospel music and he used to volunteer at various nursing homes once a week by singing to the residents. He ran the “Blessing Room” in Cyclone with his late wife, Evelyn from 1995 thru 2000. Lastly; he loved to give his grandchildren “Mooseyback” rides when they spent time together.
He was employed at the former Owens-Illinois / Georgia Pacific from 1970 until he retired in 1995 due to health issues.
In addition to his wife of fourteen years, Delores Lafferty of Duke Center, he is also survived by five daughters, Patricia (John) Shinaberger of Bradford, Lois Allen of West Branch, MI, Barbara (Dale) Songer of Bradford, Peggy Hoak of Bradford and Mickey (Dave) Monroe of Middletown, VA; one son, Dana (Samantha) Lafferty of Marshburg; two stepsons, Steve (Alice) Bennett of Duke Center and Andy (Penny) Bennett of Franklin; one brother, Bruce Lafferty of McSherrystown; one sister, Cheryl Bhe of Leon, NY; twenty grandchildren with one on the way; twenty-nine great grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his first wife; he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Mae Ruttan and one granddaughter, Sophia Grace Metzler.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, with a celebration of his life to immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the church with the Rev. Max Simms officiating.

Barbara J. Barth, 76, of Oswayo, PA, formerly of Bolivar, N.Y., passed away in her home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
Born on Thursday, July 18, 1946 in Franklinville, N.Y., she was a daughter of Kenneth Hirt and Helen Allen Hirt Bortz.
Barbara attended school in Olean.
Surviving are six children, Tamala Barth, Steve (Tammy) Barth, Donald Barth, Tracy (Kurt) Martin, Christina Poweska, and Alvin (Stacey) Poweska; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three siblings, David Hirt. Sandra Hirt Knox, and Daniel Hirt; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was predeceased by a son, William “Billy” Joe Barth.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services.

Jeffrey Paul Love, 79, of Eldred, PA, passed away peacefully at Cole Memorial Hospital after a long illness on Tuesday, January 03, 2023
Born on August 08, 1943, he is the son of Clark and Regina Love. On October 01, 1977, Jeff married the love of his life, Linda Stuchell in Smethport, at United Methodist Church. After their wedding, they made Eldred, Pa their home, where they raised three children, Sherri Lynn Noel of Belmont, John Clark Love of Bradford, and Jill Ann Wong of Ohio.
Jeff was raised in Farmers Valley and Smethport, Pa., where he graduated from Smethport Area High School. He also attended BOCES for the NY State Apprentice Program for Machine Operations. His employment history included a paper route as a child, Costas Grocery Store, Quaker State Oil Refinery, Ethan Allen Furniture, Carpentry/House Building, and Olean Tile Plant where he retired after 30 plus years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, extended family and church family. He loved tinkering and puttering in his garage, wood shop and basement, mowing his lawn, gardening, reading, and studying his bible. Loved sharing his love and knowledge of God. He enjoyed watching his American Flag flying as well as hunting.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda, one brother, Darryl (Patricia) Love of Smethport; one sister in law, Rose (John) Collins of Texas, two daughters Sherri Lynn (Bill) Noel of Belmont, NY., and Jill Ann (Mario) Wong of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter in law Linda Kay Stephens of Erie, PA.; His grandchildren RJ and Zachery Noel, of Lowell, MA, Branden Love of Eldred, Ashley, Anthony, Alex and Danny Wong of Columbus, OH.; one Aunt, Jeanne Burgie of NC, and cousins Dawn (Steve) Wilkinson of NC and Bonnie (Larry) Malakie of Waterport NY., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, his son John Clark; one brother Gary Love; one sister in law Carol Love; one grand daughter Kassey Rene Madison and one grandson Christopher Adam Wong and seven other grandchildren who passed before birth.

Frank E. “Butch” Furman, age 81, of Fairview, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Wellsville, NY on May 27, 1941, a son of the late Lowell R. and Rachel A. Brundage Furman.
He was a 1959 graduate of Northern Potter High School in Potter County, PA and a graduate of Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, MN. He was a customer service manager for 33 years at US Airways and was previous owner of Closet Systems for 10 years.
Frank loved to travel, enjoyed golfing, fishing, Nascar and gardening. He was a park ranger for the Zem Zem Shrine Club RV Park and a member of the Lake Erie Lodge No. 347 F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Erie and Zem Zem Temple Shrine. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by a brother, Wilton “Bill” Furman and a sister, Jacqueline Glassmire.
Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Furman; sons, Timothy A. Furman and his wife Carol of Waterford and Jeffrey L. Furman and his sweetheart, Ann Arts of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Cheryl L. Young and her husband Robert of Tucson, AZ and Stacey A. Hetrick of Fairview; grandchild, Madalynn Hetrick of Pittsburgh, his four legged buddy Marshall and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph A. Dingey Sr., 78, of 1971 Black & George Hollow, Bolivar, NY and a former Niagara Falls resident passed away at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Born on March 22, 1944 in Phillipsburg, PA, he was the son of Joseph M. and Grace Mildred Snedden Dingey. Joe married Sherry English on May 15, 1973 in Niagara Falls, NY; Mrs. Dingey survives.
Joe was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in France & Germany during the Vietnam War. Joe was employed as a truck driver for Empire Builders Supply Co., Niagara Falls, for over thirty years, retiring in 2002. Joe was a Jack of all trades, loved his family. Joe was a hard worker, loved fishing, hunting and family vacations. He was always creating projects around the house. Loved to help people and would give you the shirt off his back.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Terry Lynn Williams, Bolivar, Shannon Elizabeth Kirbis, Blasdell, NY and Joseph A. (Maggie) Dingey Jr., Webster, NY; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister Mildred Grace Hickson, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Jonathan Kraft, one brother, Leon Clarence Dingey and the love of his life his chocolate lab Libbie Lyn.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Kylertown, PA.

Paul F. Keller, 87, of 210 Martin Road, St. Marys, PA passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born September 26, 1935 in St. Marys, son of the late Paul L. Keller and Viola Wurm Keller. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Orsini Keller. He was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and attended St. Marys schools. He was a former employee of Stackpole and retired from Thompson and Montgomery. Paul was a member of the United States Air Force, serving our country during the Korean Conflict.
On July 25, 1959, at Queen of the World Church, he married Carol M. Wehler, who survives. Together they were blessed to share 63 years of marriage.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Paul T. Keller and his wife Kelly, of St. Marys; his granddaughter, Mandy Canipe and her husband Kenny, of Charleston, WV; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Elizabeth; his sister, Shirley Rupprecht and her husband Ray, of St. Marys; and his brother, Joseph Keller and his wife Barb, of Truman.
Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Noah Thomas Canipe.
He was a member of the Queen of the World Church. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing in his younger years. He enjoyed playing softball, a game in which he played until he was 50 years old. His greatest joys were his granddaughter, Mandy and his great-granddaughter, Gracie Elizabeth.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of the World Church with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

James D. ZIEGLER, 72, of Genesee, PA, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his home.
Born December 3, 1950, in Towanda, he was the son of Harry William and Eleanor Mae Williams Ziegler. On September 12, 1992, in Wellsburg, NY, he married the former Judith A. Cowburn, who survives.
He was a 1968 graduate of Towanda Area High School, where he participated in football, track, and wrestling. A Vietnam Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1970 – 1972.
He was employed by Sylvania in Towanda. Moving to Potter County in 1981, he was employed by Dominion at the Ellisburg and Harrison stations. Jim was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses and Austin Memorial VFW Post #7810.
Surviving besides his wife, Judy, are: two children, Christy (Chip) Soule of Genesee and Robert (Rachel) Brennan of Malta, NY; three grandchildren, Morgan (Briggs) Amidon, Cooper Soule, and Noelle Brennan; a great-granddaughter, Raylynn Amidon; a brother, William (Diane) Ziegler of Monroeton; two sisters, Suzy Clink of Ulster and Kay Knolles of Wyalusing; aunts and uncles; and was favorite “Uncle Jimmy” to his nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Ziegler; and a sister, Sharon Bastian.

E. Joanne “Tubby” Caracciolo, 83, a lifelong resident of Galeton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Carleton Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA.
Born February 24, 1939 in N. Tonawanda, NY, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Eleanor (VanEtten) Tubbs. Tubby was employed at Dominion and worked at the Greenlick Transmission Station as an Engineer.
She was a member of the Galeton Women of the Moose, attended Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church in Gaines and enjoyed playing Bingo and the Lottery. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed in the Galeton community.
She is survived by a daughter, Annie Caracciolo, Galeton; a brother, Ronald (John Semcheski) Tubbs, Miramar, FL; a sister, Sharon (Robert) Swank, Florissant, MO; a nephew, Rob Swank; and two great nephews, Dexter and Max Swank.
In addition to her parents, Tubby was predeceased by a sister, Diane Tubbs.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Gaines, from 10:00-11:00am with a Funeral Service following at 11:00am. The Rev. Frank Billman will officiate. Interment will be made in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.

Hazel Onalee Plank, of Westfield, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. She passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes. She knew the sorrows of life, and so many joys, packing her 96 years full of faith, family, and friends.
She married Harold F. Plank on Sept. 13, 1946, in a double wedding with her brother, Durwood Houghtaling, who married Harold’s sister Margery.
Christopher Lee Floyd Mosher, age 28, of Elkland, PA passed away at home on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Born December 2, 1994 in Wellsboro, PA, he was the son of Jodylynn Mosher (Jeff Wood) and Timmy L. Zuke.
Chris enjoyed playing video games, listening to music and playing guitar. He loved to ride skateboard and would later guide his daughter Izzy and his young cousins to ride too.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Isabella Grace Mosher (Lacey Learn); brothers, Thomas (Randi) Mosher of Tioga, Garrett (Taylor) Mosher of Daggett and Harley Zuke; sister, Kameron Wood; grandparents Tom and Sally Mosher and aunt Melissa “Moesef” Mosher of Elkland, uncle Shannon (Cheri) Mosher of Osceola; Great uncle Chet Mosher of Elkland; his “brother from another mother”, Kevin Caton; his dog RoxiDawg and his cat Bobby DeNiro and several nieces, a nephew and several cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob Zuke.

Russell C. “Russ” Miller, 67, of Shinglehouse, PA passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, after a short illness.
Born on Saturday, August 20, 1955, in Jamestown, N.Y., he was a son of Joseph and Betty Peterson Miller. On January 15, 1983 in Shinglehouse, he married Gail M. Meyers, who survives.
Russ previously owned and operated Miller Automotive in Millport and was also a machinist for many years. He was also employed as the head sawyer for the former Donovan and Schoonover Lumber Company in Shinglehouse.
Russ enjoyed working on his classic cars and collecting and restoring pinball machines. He was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and an avid Chase Elliott fan. Russ’s greatest love was his family, especially his eight grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 40 years; four children, Phoebe M. (Donn) Tompkins of Ridgway, Jason L. Miller of Greenville, Lee A. (Sharon) Miller of Pittsburgh, and Betsy V. (Jeremiah) Asper of Lock Haven; eight grandchildren, Noah, Shelby, and Bailey Tompkins, Aydan Miller, and Bryson, and Mason Asper, and Charlotte and Conner Miller; two brothers, Randy A. Miller and Rodney L. Miller, both of Shinglehouse; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Russ was predeceased by a brother, Lonnie Joe Miller.
In keeping with Russ’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.

Arnold “Arnie” Brunner, 77, of Route 6, Smethport, PA passed away Sunday (Jan. 1, 2023) at Olean General Hospital.
Born March 13, 1945, in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of William and Evelyn Walker Brunner. On Aug. 28, 1971, in the Duke Center United Methodist Church, he married Susan Curtin, who survives.
Mr. Brunner was a 1963 graduate of the Belvidere (Ill.) High School. After being born in Duke Center, his family moved to Illinois, but Arnie decided to move back to the local area as soon as he graduated high school.
He then attended some of the inaugural classes at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford while painting houses to finance his degree. He went on to receive a B.S. in forestry from Penn State University in 1967.
After working as a forester for the PA State Game Commission and the Buehler Lumber Company of Ridgeway, Arnie went on to a successful career as an independent forester. In 1991, he opened A-1 Rent-All Sales in Olean, which he operated alongside his wife for 31 years. They also started Stoney Acres Alpaca Farm together in Smethport, where they raised alpacas for 18 years.
Arnie enjoyed everything involving the outdoors and spent as much time as possible outside. He loved hunting, swimming, gathering firewood, and of course, working. He was known for his strong-willed nature but also for being very generous to those close to him.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years are their son, Christopher, along with his partner Ashli; and three granddaughters, Katelyn, Leah and Maddie; as well as several extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Teddy; as well his infant sister, Marilyn.
As per Arnie’s request there will be no services held at this time. Burial will be in Duke Center Cemetery.

Joan Marie Miles, 84, formerly of Park Street Bradford, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at UPMC Hamot.
Born October 13, 1938, in Salamanca, NY, she was a daughter of the late William and Verneda (Fee) Nye. She attended Salamanca Schools.
Joan worked as a caregiver for Cattaraugus County and area families.
She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary as well as a Senior Regent, and the Moose Lodge Auxiliary and Moose Heart Haven.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeannie Byerley, of Endevor, Nancy (John) Palumbo, of Olean, NY and Verneda “Sunny” Kayes, of Olean, NY, four sons, Henry Louis (Wendy) Kayes, Jr., of Bloomfield, Daniel L. (Bonnie) Kayes, of Buffalo, NY, Tyler Kayes, of Endevor, and Damon Kayes, of Polleck LA, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, two sisters, Carol Hammerbeck, of Sheffield, and Sandra Hale, of Bradford, one brother, Walter (Butch) Hale, of VA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, William Nye, and Clifford “Sonny” Nye.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Eagles Club, in Bradford, at 1:30 PM.

Charles E. “Chuck” Patterson, 89, of St. Marys, formally of Ridgway, PA died on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Elk Haven Nursing after a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 16, 1933, a son of the late Robert and Agnes Hill Patterson.
On May 29, 1958, in Ridgway, he married Barbara Gardner, who survives.
Chuck was a resident of the area for 65 years and a member of First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S Army. Chuck was a member of the Ridgway Elk, Ridgway Legion, Rolfe Beagle Club, and Island Run Sportsman. He had a passion for teaching his grandchildren to hunt and fish. He had a love for his beagles and was a avid Steelers fan.
In addition to his wife of nearly 65 years, he is survived by 6 children; Joyce Fledderman and her husband Peter of St. Marys, Linda Delullo and her husband Richard of St. Marys, Charles Patterson Jr. and his wife Mary of Grove City, Todd Patterson and his wife Laura of Lynchburg, VA, Bonnie Hoffman and her husband Don of Ridgway, and Brent Patterson and his wife Pam of East Aurora, NY, 12 grandchildren; Steven Fledderman, Paul Fledderman, Kristen Uhl, Lindsey Geci, Cecelia Midberry, Charles Patterson III, Clay Patterson, Kate Holloway, Mikah Patterson, Jenna Hoffman, Hailey Hoffman, and Kaden Hoffman, and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 siblings; Kenneth Patterson and his wife Jerry, Francis Patterson and his wife Patricia, and Jane Delhunty, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings; Robert and Harold Patterson, Doris Bowser, and Margaret Shirley.

Patricia Regina Stelljes, 74, of Gaines, PA passed away on January 2nd, 2023, after a battle with lung cancer.
Pat was born on October 24 to William and Jean Duaime in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from St. Hubert High School in 1966, Pat got her first full time job at Bell Telephone where she met her husband, William. They were married in November 1970 and had two children, Christina and Daniel.
Pat worked for twenty years at the Log Cabin Inn in Rexford, PA and then for Thomas Vroman Associates in Watrous, PA. After retiring in 2013, Pat enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, yearly vacations with her daughter to Ocean City, MD and attending numerous extended family gatherings.
Pat is survived by her husband William, her children Christina and Daniel (Kristin) and her two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas. She is also survived by brothers William (Mary), Robert, Stephen (Denyse), John, Rev. Jeffrey T. C.S.SP. and Douglas; sisters Carol (Bill) and Janet (Paul) Miller, sister-in-law Diane (Jim) Wade and 18 nephews and nieces.

Richard E. “Dick” Delhunty, 82, of Ridgway, PA died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his residence.
He was born January 28, 1940, a son of the late Jack and Verda Lyle Delhunty.
On November 14, 1964, at Faith United Church, he married Marlene Dias , who survives.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Ridgway and a member of Faith United Church. He was also member of Laurel Rod and Gun club, Elk County County Club, Fox Twp Sportsman, and Ridgway Moose. Dick enjoyed hunting, golfing, woodworking, and shooting trap and skeet. He was a avid Pirates fan and a even bigger Ridgway Elkers fan. He loved his family and enjoyed going to all their sporting events.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by 3 children; Debra Santora and her husband Mark of N.J, Michael Delhunty and his wife Debbie of Ridgway, and Marcy Anderson and her husband Russ of Kersey, , 7 grandchildren; Daniel, Justin, Cody, Jesse, Payton, Luke, and Ryan, and 2 great-grandchildren; Logan and Landon, a sister; Mona Scott of Stow, OH, a brother, J. Samuel Delhunty of Ridgway, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ivory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Mary Brattis, Kathryn Capuano, and Doris Kelly, 3 brothers; Frank Lyle, Jack and Wayne Delhunty.

John J. Engel, 81, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, formerly of 151 Sugar Hill Road, St. Marys, PA passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Elk Haven, after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 5, 1941 in St. Marys, son of the late John F. and Elizabeth Gregory Engel. He was a lifelong resident of the area, attended St. Marys Parochial and St. Marys Area Schools, and was a lifelong farmer at the Sugar Hill Dairy Farm. He was an avid gardener in the years following his retirement from dairy farming.
On July 12, 1980, in Queen of the World Church, he married the late Margaret A. Ross, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2006.
John is survived by his two children: Ashley Engel of Ridgway and Jonathan Engel (Michelle) of Pittsburgh; one grandchild, Jordan Plyler; his sister, Mary Busch of Phoenixville, PA; his brother, Michael Engel (Winnie) of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the local Grange, the PA Dairymen’s Association, and was active in the Bells of St. Marys where he met his wife square dancing. John often hosted neighbors, family, and friends at his home for bonfires, gatherings, or to just stop by and share in some fellowship. While working sunrise to sunset daily, he always had time for his children, rarely missing milestones in their lives. He loved wood working and refinished furniture for area residents.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:30AM with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
