Bradford PA – Children throughout the Bradford area are invited to take center stage at the upcoming Super Summer Bash, a free three-day event packed with outdoor games, live music, free meals, and school supply giveaways. Hosted by Open Arms Community Church at 71 Congress Street in Bradford, the celebration coincides with Big 30 Weekend and is built specifically around local youth. Spearheaded by Thrive Kids Ministry under the “Camp Exodus” theme, the event offers children ages 3 to 12 two interactive Kids Fun Nights followed by a family-wide Community Block Party.

The festivities kick off with two Kids Fun Nights on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., featuring interactive lessons, crafts, music, games, dinner, and a special Family Ice Cream Social on Friday evening. The celebration culminates on Saturday, August 1, with a Community Block Party from noon to 4:00 p.m., complete with inflatables, a magician, live music, free food, carnival games, prizes, and complimentary school supply distributions to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.

“This is the second year that Open Arms Community Church has hosted what is becoming our annual Kids Fun Nights,” said Dan Robinson, Assistant Pastor at Open Arms Community Church. “It’s always exciting to see so many kids running around, having fun, and learning about Jesus. Children are vital to the life of every church in our community, and teaching them while they’re young is important. We’re also excited for Super Summer Bash, which features a magician, local music, carnival games, prizes, and school supplies for the upcoming year. Last year, more than 300 children and their families joined us throughout the event, and it was an amazing day. We can’t wait to do it again. Come hungry—hot dogs and popcorn will be available all day!”

Local volunteers are running game stations, serving food, and gathering donated school supplies—including notebooks, pencils, and backpacks—at the church office ahead of the weekend.

“Thrive Children’s Ministry exists to equip all children to love God and share God’s love with all people,” said Melissa Robinson, Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Open Arms Community Church. “Through our annual VBS, Kids Fun Nights, and the Super Summer Bash, I believe—and have faith—that we’re doing exactly that, even when we don’t always get to see the outcome of the seeds we plant.”

Robinson said her prayer is that the impact of the weekend extends far beyond the event itself.

“We pray that the families who attend these events share the light and love they encounter with us with the rest of their families, friends, schools, sports teams, and throughout our community,” she said. “We also pray that families begin attending a church—or return to church—even if it’s not with us, so they can continue to grow in their relationship with God. Events like these help children and their families know God, know they are not alone, and know that we as a church, as a children’s ministry, and as part of this community love them and see them.”

Whether a child’s family attends church regularly or has never stepped through the doors of Open Arms, every child in the area is invited to participate. The goal is to create a safe, welcoming place where local kids feel celebrated, supported, and loved by their community.
