Next Friday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m., The Cadillac Cats, a high-energy, five-piece “funky blues” band based in Williamsport, will be performing live as part of the Deane Center’s Free Outdoor Concert Series at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Coolidge Theatre.

This free concert is being held in conjunction with Wellsboro’s last First Friday, a community street festival on Main Street that will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 with local vendors, live music, food, artisan goods and special activities for kids. 

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and sit in the grassy area in front of the outdoor stage or on Central Avenue, which will be closed to motor vehicle traffic between the side of the Warehouse Theatre building and Main Street. 

This Friday, August 28, the members of Cadillac Cats are releasing their new, album “Swamp Funk” on all major digital and streaming platforms. They physically released the album on August 21 at the Back Alley Bar and Grill in Williamsport.

Four of the tracks on “Swamp Funk” were released as singles, including “Funkin’ Blues” and “Slippin’” both in 2023, and “Rollin” and “Sing Along,” both in 2025.

Guitarist Blair Mitcheltree founded The Cadillac Cats in 2013. Also featured are powerhouse lead vocalist Becky Wool, Urie Kline on drums, Garrett Gaetano on bass, and Shawn Strickland on harmonica.

They deliver high energy, foot stomping blues at every show and are known for mixing old-school blues grit with modern funk, rock, and R&B grooves.

The band is a two-time Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (CPMA) nominee for Best Blues Band and two-time International Blues Challenge (IBC) quarter finalists 

They play classic hits like “Boom Boom” and “Little By Little” and originals like “Billtown Boogie”, and “The Cadillac Swing,” which are sure to get audience members up and dancing. 

The Cadillac Cats see their setlist as a “song bag” that they can pull from depending on the mood of the crowd and to keep the music fresh and exciting not only for their fans but also for themselves.

For the last free concert in the series, Hot Rod Mule will sing and play hard-driving bluegrass and country music on Friday, Oct. 2. In case of rain, this concert will be moved indoors to the Warehouse Theatre Gallery at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro.
