Phyllis M. (Youmans) Taylor, age 86, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, September 8, 2023.
She was born on February 12, 1937 in Mansfield, PA, a daughter of the late Raymond and Eileen (Grinnell) Youmans and was married for 63 years to the late William “Bill” Taylor.
Phyllis attended the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro and loved playing dominoes, taking care of others and loved to laugh and joke.

Galeton Fire & EMS Dispatched for Gunshot Victim in Gaines
At 12:20 PM on Monday, Galeton Ambulance has been dispatched to Hanky Panky Road in Gaines Township to assist Pennsylvania State Police with a victim of a gunshot.
County dispatch indicates the suspect in Sunday’s Galeton shooting has a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head but is currently still alive, being transported by State Police side-by-side from a wooded area to the waiting ambulance.
Air Medical transported the wounded man to a trauma center.
An updated news release from PSP Coudersport says simply that Robert M. Wildey is now in custody.

HARRISBURG – In coordination with a national effort to keep consumers connected, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) recognizes Sept. 11-15 as Digital Connectivity and Lifeline Awareness Week, to help income-eligible Pennsylvanians stay connected through the Lifeline Program.
“Digital Connectivity and Lifeline Awareness Week is important to ensure that Pennsylvanians have access to both basic local telephone service and high-speed internet services. The Lifeline program provides access to basic local telephone services for those who want such access while digital connectivity programs provide access to all that the internet has to offer,” said Chairman Stephen M. DeFrank. “This week is an appropriate time to remind consumers that the Lifeline and Affordable Connectivity Programs are available to help ensure income-eligible consumers continue to have access to affordable communications needed for telemedicine, telework, online learning and more.”

After guiding his team to a conference championship and NCAA tournament berth during his first full season — and with all of his players returning — Pennsylvania College of Technology golf coach Rob Lytle is optimistic.

Wellsville Police arrested Stephanie N. Bennett, age 34 of Wellsville, charging her with DWI and DWI w/BAC of .08% or more. The charges stem from an incident that took place on Park Avenue. Bennett was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released to a third party. Bennett is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 19th at 4:30 pm.
