Martha R. (Ross) Einloth, age 94, of Smethport, PA, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA.
On Thursday, June 15, 2023; she passed peacefully at the Bluebird Retirement Community in Marysville, OH; where she spent her last year.
Preceded in death by parents William and Grace (Brooks) Ross. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Gerard Einloth; devoted mother of Cecilia (Peter) Ehni, Christopher (Denise), Matthew (Karen), Martin (Christine), Colette (Mark) Roberts, Carolyn Einloth and the late Stephen; also survived by brother Donald Ross, grandchildren; Tim (Alicia) Einloth, Kirsten(Jason)Wollberg, Amanda (Matt) Lyman, Colleen Roberts, Michelle Einloth, Jared (Autumn) Ehni, Alyssa Ehni; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marty graduated from Smethport High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She went on to Penn State University for a degree in Education and then to Drexel University where she earned a Masters in Library Science.
She was a proofreader for the advertising agency BBDO in Pittsburgh prior to leaving the workforce to start a family. She later returned to work at Kaufmann’s department store, where she remained until retirement.
She returned to Smethport after spending over 40 years in Pittsburgh. In retirement, she spent a few years on the board of the local library and volunteered with the historical society. Additionally, she was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Smethport.
Marty was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed a good mystery. She was Jeopardy fan and everyone knew not to call during that timeframe. She played with various bridge clubs over the years, mostly because Jerry enjoyed playing. She also became an avid bingo player while at the Bluebird.
Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Friday June 23 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to McKean County Historical Society, Hamlin Memorial Library or a charity of one’s choice.
