BEACON LIGHT, DEERFIELD AND JOURNEY HEALTH SYSTEM LAUD STAFF
Beacon Light Behavioral Health System (BLBHS), Beacon Light Adult Residential Services (BLARS), Deerfield Behavioral Health (DBH), Deerfield Solutions and their parent company Journey Health System (JHS), hosted an annual employee service awards lunch in Bradford on Tuesday. The staff members being recognized are celebrating a total of 555 years of service.
Guy Signor, JHS President & CEO said, “I’m honored to be the first to congratulate and thank you for your years of service. We are nothing without you and you give so much of yourselves toward our mission of helping others.”
With 35 years of service at BLBHS, Kimberly Bond was applauded. Since she began her career in 1989, Bond has dedicated herself to her students without hesitation.
According to Bond’s supervisor Chrissy Riegel; the time, effort and genuine passion Bond dedicates to her students and the education program remains unmatched. She makes her students and their families her number one priority from the minute she walks through the door each morning until she leave at the end of each day. Bond possesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to educating students with special needs, and her coworkers appreciate the support and guidance she provides them. Bond’s commitment to the program and the students BLBHS serves never goes unnoticed.
The following employees that reached milestone years of service were also recognized.
Beacon Light Adult Residential Services:
· Five years – Jody Kinser, Amy Priest, Sasha Reynolds, Robin Whiteman.
· 10 years – Corey Chase, Diana Phetterplace, Amber Reed, Peggy Shirey.
· 15 years – Kirk Johnson, Samuel Shonts.
· 20 years – Christy Lekas, Angela Peterson.
· 25 years – Tammy Pearman, Angela Simmons.
Beacon Light Behavioral Health System:
· Five years – Tiffany Cashdollar, Jacob Davis, Samantha Freer, Jennifer Gesing, Lisa Leasure, Jennifer Moore, Brittany Smith, Lori Wesmiller.
· 10 years – Nelson Allman, Kimberly Bullers, Meretta Cable.
· 15 years – Laurie Butler, Diane Jusko, Dr. John Simora.
· 20 years – Ronald Buchheit, Timothy Piller, Amanda Straight, Echo Zandy.
· 25 years – Charles McCarthy.
· 30 years- Eric Moffett.
Deerfield Behavioral Health:
· 10 years – Gretchen Daugherty.
Journey Health System:
• 5 years- Nicole Pysher.
• 20 years- Heidi Thomas.
· 25 years- Matthew Mangold.
· 30 years- Crystal Whaley.
In addition, the Safety Committee members were recognized. Special presentations were made for the following annual staff awards:
· Tammy Pearman from BLARS- Recipient of the 2024 Carolyn Carl Distinguished Service Award
· Bob Eddy from BLBHS- Recipient of the 2024 David Dolaway Distinguished Service Award
· Greg James from JHS- Recipient of the 2024 Tom Urban Distinguished Service Award.
While Jim Wiseman, executive director of BLARS, presented the 2024 Carolyn Carl Distinguished Service Award to Tammy Pearman, he read some comments from the nominator such as, “It is with pleasure that I nominate Tammy Pearman for this distinguished service award. She leads as a good example for the company’s mission and motto. She’s always aware of the client’s needs.”
Bob Eddy was nominated for The David Dolaway Distinguished Service Award by his supervisor Jen Gesing, executive director of BLBHS. Gesing stated, “Bob has spent the last 33 years helping youth and families to identify and achieve success. He has shaped numerous staff and leadership throughout the organization, and has consistently worked to better the organization as a whole. Bob exemplifies the spirit of the Dave Dolaway Distinguished Service award in his ongoing contribution to the care for the youth and families we work with, the development of clinical programming and his mentoring of numerous staff throughout the organization.”
Matt Mangold, JHS CIO, presented the Tom Urban Distinguished Service Award to Greg James. Mangold said, “James was nominated because he has been with BLBHS and JHS for over 15 years and now serves as a Regional IT Director. He is one of the most unassuming, quiet leaders you will ever find. James is always quick to help and takes on new tasks and new responsibilities without question. He truly exhibits the spirit of the JHS mission of supporting the mission of our member agencies and he exemplifies leadership qualities worth emulating.”
