Rosalie C. Stanko, 76, of Tiona, PA, passed peacefully, on Thursday morning, September 21, 2023, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA., after an extended illness.
Rosalie was born October 5, 1946, in Jamestown, N.Y. She was the daughter of Louis and Sainty DeFrancesco Lombardo. She was a Warren Co., resident most of her entire life.
Rosalie was a 1964 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was employed as a cook with Warren State Hospital, retiring in 2006, after 25 years of employment.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church. She is remembered by her family, as a strong woman of faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, word searches, newspaper crossword puzzles, crocheting, Pirates baseball, birdwatching from her deck, and watching deer, bears and turkeys. Towards the end of her life, she relied on the generosity of those who donated blood.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, David A. Stanko, whom she married May 27, 1967, in Jamestown, N.Y.
2 Daughters – Alisha Madigan and husband, Daniel of Sheffield, PA., Samantha Whitaker and husband, Clark of Russell, PA., 1 Son – Todd Stanko and companion, Dani of Wilcox, PA., 2 Sisters – Theresa Robichaud of Moon Township, PA., Marie Varandani of Yellow Springs, OH., 2 Sister-in-laws – Rosemary Lombardo of Jamestown, N.Y., Deloris Curry of Spring Creek, PA., 4 Grandchildren – Anna Stanko, Joseph Stanko, Abigail Danielson, Lynn Madigan, 1 Great Grandson – Asher Danielson, several nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Joseph and Louis Lombardo.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Church from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery niches.
