Galeton Celebrates the Nation’s Birthday – Despite the rain during the day and evening, the Galeton Fireworks Committee again wowed the Galeton community and the thousands of visitors who came to Galeton for their 4th of July fireworks display.  The surrounding area of the lake was lined with cars, as were the grassy areas where blankets and tents were placed to view the event.  Every imaginable area in Galeton was used as a parking area for the visitors. This annual event is held on the first Saturday of July, and this year, it was helping the nation celebrate its 250th birthday – Happy birthday, America!
