Hometown Author Hunter Prosper To Visit The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library for Author Talk & Book Signing

Thursday, December 11, 2025
Emporium, PA — The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is thrilled to announce a very special homecoming event featuring Hunter Prosper, beloved storyteller, social media creator, and author of the bestselling book Stories From a Stranger: Every Person Has a Story. The event will take place on Monday December 29 starting at 4:00 pm in the library’s Multipurpose Room located at 27 W. 4th Street in Emporium.
What makes this visit especially meaningful is that Hunter Prosper is one of our own. Born and raised right here in Emporium, PA, and a proud graduate of Cameron County High School, Hunter’s journey from small-town roots to global storytelling success has inspired millions — and now he’s returning to the place where his story began.
His book, Stories From a Stranger, captures 100 powerful, heartfelt interviews collected from strangers around the world—conversations filled with honesty, resilience, hope, and the surprising beauty of everyday human experience. The book became an instant sensation, resonating deeply with readers who find comfort and connection in the stories Hunter brings forward.
But before he became known to millions online, Hunter was a young man from Cameron County with a curiosity for people and a deep sense of compassion. As a part-time ICU nurse and storyteller based in Pittsburgh, Hunter discovered that simple questions often opened the door to profound conversations. These moments inspired his viral series — Stories from a Stranger, Notes to a Stranger, and Notes from a Stranger — all centered on spreading positivity and reminding the world that everyone has a meaningful story to share.
From his management team:
“Through nursing, Hunter found himself asking patients questions about their lives — and the responses were always positive. His storytelling series highlights the importance of positive messaging on social media. Hunter’s goal is to show that there is a meaningful story in every corner of the world and to share these inspirational tales to help support, teach, and inspire his growing audience.”
During his visit, Hunter will talk about the experiences that shaped his book, the strangers whose stories have stayed with him, and how growing up in Emporium helped influence his path. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a Q&A session, followed by a book signing.
This event is free and open to the public, and we are honored to welcome Hunter back to his hometown library.
