Roadway Improvement Project On Route 44 In Cummings Township, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Work continues on the roadway improvement project on Route 44 north of the intersection with Route 414 in Cummings Township, Lycoming County. This week, the contractor will complete the geosynthetic soil wall, pave, and place line paint. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be Wednesday and Thursday 24-hours a day and daylight hours only on Friday.
The week of Monday, November 10, 2025, shoulder back up will be placed and guide rail will be installed before the final line painting is completed. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging during daylight hours.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this roadway improvement project, being completed by EQT Production Company. Work on this project includes drainage improvements, guide rail upgrade, construction of a geosynthetic reinforced soil wall, paving, and line painting. Work is anticipated to be completed in November 2025, weather permitting.
This roadway improvement project is in addition to the $9.3 million embankment stabilization project that was completed earlier this year through a partnership between EQT Production Company and PennDOT.
