Smethport – Allen L. Jackson, 77, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (February 8, 2025) at his home in Smethport.

He was born October 26, 1947 in Port Allegany, the son of Franklin B. and Maryetta (Keech) Jackson. On January 1, 2000, in Eldred, PA, he married Jodee L. Comes, who survives.

Mr. Jackson was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School Class of 1965 and attended technical trade school in Florida for early computers.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1971.

Allen worked as head of maintenance at Lakeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport, until his retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby and the Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport and the Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460. Allen loved to play Euchre and was always ready to get in on a game. He was also an avid cruise ship traveler.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

two sons: Matthew Jackson of West Palm Beach, FL and Rick Anderson of Port Saint Lucie, FL

Three daughters: Karen (Mark) Shelton of Mechanicsville, VA, Tanya Lynn (Mick) Frantz of Bradford, and Sheree Jo (Chris) Swatsler of Smethport

Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild

One sister: Joyce E. (Lynn) Cirigliano of Corry, PA

Three brothers: Steven B. (Joni) Jackson of Allegany, NY, Roger D. (Catherine) Jackson of Boston, NY, and Tyler Kayes of Olean, NY, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin D. Jackson.

There will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
