Edward Paul Lamont, 84, of Emporium, PA, passed away on October 20th at his daughter’s home in Wellsboro PA after a long illness. Born December 5, 1940, in Spangler, PA, and raised in Bakerton, PA, Ed was the son of the late Thomas and Frances Hecker Lamont. Growing up in Bakerton he was nicknamed “Mohawk,” later shortened to “Mo,” a name that stayed with him throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Marsha Ellen Polites, on June 22, 1963, at Sacred Heart Church in Bakerton, PA, and they spent 60 wonderful years together until her passing in 2024.

Paul T. Jovenitti, 75, a resident of Glen Hazel, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 6, 1950, in St. Marys, son of the late Floyd and Marie “Ceil” Bianco Jovenitti.  He was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School and earned his degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Paul worked in Boston, MA for ISO and retired in 2005.  He returned to St. Marys in 2005 to be with his family and later on he resided in Wilcox. 

Rosemary E. Walsh, 78, of Warren, PA. and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, PA.  died Sunday evening, October 19, 2025, after an extended illness.  Rosemary was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA. and was the daughter of Joseph L. and Ellen Klos Walsh.  She has resided in Warren since 2012.  She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Misericordia University and her Master’s and Doctorate degree in Speech and Communication from Temple University.  She was a professor at Penn State University, Hazleton, PA. Campus.

Rosemary was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, Warren, PA., she enjoyed playing piano and was an avid reader.

Port Allegany – Nancy L. Dougherty, 91, of Coudersport, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away Saturday (October 18, 2025) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. She was born June 29, 1934 in Lancaster, PA, the daughter of Willis and Grace (Sheap) Deim. She married Robert Emmet Dougherty on April 4, 1959 at The United Brethren Evangelical Church in New Holland PA.

 In 1974 she, her husband and daughter moved to Port Allegany.  She worked in Elliot’s bakery a few years after moving into Port Allegany. Nancy also worked as a cleaning lady for many families over the years. She also worked for the Canoe Place Inn for several years. 

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA—Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Kenneth A. Ford, 83, of Shinglehouse, from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Bell Run Union Church, 904 Taylor Brook Road, Shinglehouse, where a celebration of Ken’s life will follow at 2pm.

Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord military honors on October 25, 2025 at the church.

Rosemarie Greitl Reese, 89, of Coudersport, PA passed away on October 16^th, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Munich, Germany on September 17^th, 1936, he daughter of Wilhelm and Marie Wurm Greitl and stepfather Jakob Grietl. 

In Munich she married Fordyce “Al” Reese Sr. on September 5^th, 1958. After his military career ended, they settled in Coudersport for the remainder of their lives.  For many years she was the cleaning lady for several local businesses and was a waitress at Mickey’s Diner. She worked at Hallmark Cards and a print sign making company prior to moving to the United States from Germany. She had a wide circle of family and friends
