Lois E. EDWARDS, 73, of Allentown, NY, died Friday, October 3, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born July 10, 1952, in the Town of Ward, she was the daughter of William and Betty Stives Edwards. On May 26, 1976, in West Clarksville, she married Richard Edwards, who predeceased her on January 2, 2025. Lois was a 1972 graduate of Cuba Central School. She served as a Cub Scout leader in Cuba and a baseball coach for Cuba Farm League. Lois was a life member of Allentown Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Restoration Church of Christ in Scio.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for FSIS-inspected ready-to-eat meals produced by FreshRealm containing a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated ingredient, specifically riced cauliflower, that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm).

Argie J. JANDREW, 40, of Scio, NY, died Thursday, October 2, 2025 in her home.
Born November 13, 1984, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Dale and Karen Guinnip Jandrew.
Argie was a 2002 graduate of Bolivar-Richburg High School and a graduate of Houghton College. During high school and college, she was employed by Kmart. After college, she was a substitute teacher in Scio, Belfast, and Wellsville schools, and an administrative assistant for Sagewood Counseling in Port Allegany, PA.
Surviving are: her mother, Karen, of Scio; a brother, Lucas Jandrew of Bolivar; a sister, Jessie (Tim) Tucker of Warren, MI; two nephews, Matthias and Joshua; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Dale.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 10, 2025 in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio.

Harold R. “Dickie” Rawson, age 83, of Wellsboro, PA
Harold R. “Dickie” Rawson, age 83, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Saturday, October 4, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1942 in Wellsboro, PA a son of the late Arnold and Laura (Eberenz) Rawson and was the husband of the late Vivian (Blackwell) Rawson.
Dick served in the US Army, was a self-employed mechanic for many years and enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors. If Dickie can’t fix it, nobody can.
He is survived by three sons: Rick (Jeanette Patt) Rawson of England, William (Brooke Beacom) Rawson of Wellsboro, PA, Richard Rawson of Wellsboro, PA, daughter: Ruth Rawson of Wellsboro, PA, and six grandchildren: Adam Rawson, Darius Rawson, Sidney Rawson, Jordan Rawson, Hannah Gile, Caleb Gile, brothers: David (Connie) Rawson, Jerry (Sharon) Rawson, James (Sharon) Rawson, sisters: Lois Richter, Nancy Taynton, Jane (Dave) Miller, sister-in-law: Jan Watts.
He was predeceased by two brothers: George and Allan and a sister: Sally. A private family memorial service will be held by the family.

Lions Club Celebrates Steve & Brenda Erway’s Service
On Monday, October 6, 2025, the Coudersport Area Lions Club held our annual Governor’s Dinner with District Governor Leona Houseknecht. The evening was bittersweet as we honored Steve and Brenda Erway’s many years of service with our club and welcomed incoming president Ron Hallett. Steve & Brenda will be moving to Dubois, PA at the end of the month. The District Governor also gave a “Roar Award” to Lion Sharon Kottwitz for her faithful service to our community as a Lion. A delicious dinner was served by our favorite local caterer, Claudia Dynda. Thank you to ALL our local Lions who serve the Coudersport community!
Coudersport Area Lions Club, Check Them Out
In an effort to improve our environment and clean up our local roadways, the Lions Club headed outdoors on Sunday, October 5, 2025 to pick up litter along our designated stretch of Route 6. The Lions Club is a service oriented club that supports our local community. If you’d like to find out more about the Lions, you are welcome to attend one of our monthly meetings. The Lions meet the first Monday of each month at 3:00 PM in the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association Meeting Hall. Public Drunkenness Arrest In Bradford
On October 5, 2025, our officers responded to a welfare check at 23 Tibbits Avenue, where they encountered an individual in need of assistance. After an investigation, the individual, Stephaney L. Buchanan, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, posing a risk to her own safety.
Our officers took the individual into custody on a summary offense charge. Further investigation revealed that she was also on probation with McKean County, and a detainer was placed on her by Probation.
She was subsequently transported to the McKean County Jail. The City of Bradford Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of our community. Fugitive From Justice Arrest In Bradford
On October 1, 2025, City of Bradford Police responded to a call regarding a male walking in the middle of the road on Interstate Parkway, yelling and screaming. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual and determined him to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During the encounter, the male provided false identification information to the officers. Through further investigation, it was discovered that the individual was John Avitto, a male from Brooklyn, NY. Avitto was found to be a fugitive from justice, with multiple felony warrants outstanding from southern Pennsylvania. City of Bradford Police charged Avitto with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, false identification, and obstruction after he refused to be fingerprinted.
Magistrate Todd arraigned Avitto and remanded him to McKean County Jail on $7,500 cash bail. Detainers for the outstanding warrants were also placed upon him. Preliminary hearings for the charges are scheduled in the matter. The City of Bradford Police Department would like to remind the public that all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Ilon C. Renninger, 83, of Duke Center, PA
Ilon C. Renninger, 83, of Duke Center, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at UPMC Cole, in Coudersport.
Born April 13, 1942, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late William and Helen (Snow) Bickel. She was a 1960 graduate of Otto Eldred High School.
On May 4, 1963, in Rockey Grove, she married Lonnie S. Renninger, who survives.
She worked at the Holiday Inn, Duke Center Superette, and the Countryside Diner.
Ilon was an avid puzzle lover, especially jigsaw puzzles, word search, and search and find. She was a good cook and baker and enjoyed making Sunday dinners for her family, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Surviving in addition to her husband Lonnie, of 62 years, are two sons, Bill (Dorothy) Renninger, Eldred and Randy (Penney) Renninger, of Duke Center, five grandchildren, Samantha (Chris) Wilkerson, Kirsten (Chris) Conner, Ashley Renninger, Brent Renninger, and Ethan VanCamp, and four great grandchildren, Kinsley, Jaxson, Spencer, and Kayce.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main Street. Friends are also invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 3:00 pm at the Church of Christ, with Rev. Rick Price, Pastor officiating.

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA—-After a long illness due to heart attack complications, Dale R. Hoffman, 77, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Mt. Pleasant Mills, was called home on Sunday, October 5th 2025.
Dale was born on November 13, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, PA. He was the 5th child out of 10 born from Ernest Elijah Hoffman and Sarah Mae (Frymoyer) Hoffman. The Hoffman family had a proud Pennsylvania Dutch heritage and work ethic with their strong farming backgrounds. Dale was fond of saying, “If you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much!” and loved to speak various words in the language.
Student Of The Week Alivia Norman
The student of the week in Health Assistant is Alivia Norman. Alivia is a senior at Northern Potter High School. Alivia obtained her nurse assistant designation last year and has participated in a capstone project at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport. In addition, she has obtained her Stop the Bleed, OSHA 10, and BLS certifications while studying at the Seneca Highlands CTC. Alivia’s positive attitude, teamwork ability, and tenaciousness have had a refreshing and inspiring impact on her health assistant class. Her future plans are to attend postsecondary education in the nursing field.

Members of the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild in Wellsboro are presenting a free Golden Afternoons program about the local quilt guild and displaying quilts made by members at 1pm this coming Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Deane Center’s Golden Afternoons program is free and open to adults, 55 and older. It will be in the lobby at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. Refreshments will be provided.
Port Allegany High School Homecoming Parade October 10th
The Port Allegany High School Student Council has announced activities for the 2025 Homecoming. Spirit Week is being held all week at PAHS. The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, October 10 and begin at 6p.m. The route will start at the Shop s Save and travel from Mill Street to Main Street, turn up Arnold Avenue to the high school and then culminate in the back parking lot by the football field for a bonfire and pep rally. This year’s theme is “A Night in Rio”. The Junior High Homecoming Dance will take place on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m.in the auxiliary gym at the school. Tickets are $5 per student and must be purchased at the door.
The homecoming sporting events include a Port United Soccer game vs. Punxutawney at 10:00 a.m. on Gator Field. The varsity football game will follow when the PAHS Gators take on the Otto-Eldred Terrors. Kick-off is 1:30 p.m. The introduction of the court and announcement of the King and Queen will take place during half-time. The Senior High Homecoming Dance will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the crowning of the King and Queen at 7:30 p.m. The dance will last until 10 p.m. Tickets for the Senior High Dance will be sold at the school. No student tickets will be sold at the door.
Kevin Y. Fuller, 66, of Coudersport, formerly of Port Allegany
Port Allegany – Kevin Y. Fuller, 66, of Coudersport, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away Friday (October 3, 2025) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
He was born January 14, 1959 in Port Allegany, the son of Edward and Pauline (Sherwood) Fuller.
He was a graduate of Port Allegany High School class of 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1976 to 1978.
Mr. Fuller was a self employed motorcycle mechanic.
He was a member of the Wanderers Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hanging out with his friends.
He is survived by:
Two brothers: Warren (Robin) Fuller of Bradford and Timothy (Wendy) Fuller of Port Allegany
Two sisters: LuAnn (Don) Gamet and Amy (Rick) Speeran, both of Oregon
And several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation or services at this time.

Port Allegany Rotary Roundup
The Port Allegany Rotary Club began welcoming seniors from Port Allegany High School to their weekly luncheons, held Thursdays at the Moose Lodge #460. The first members of the Class of 2026 to attend were Brayden Babcock and Trey Kiser. Trey was introduced to the club by Tony Flint. He is the son of Sonja Kiser and has an older brother, Alec, and a twin brother, Tristan. He is a student at the Seneca Highlands Career Technical Center in the Building Construction program. Trey is a member of the soccer team and plays fullback.
He is a member of the track team and competes in sprints and pole vault. Trey spent 10 weeks at basic training at Fort Leonard in Missouri and is a member of the Army Reserves. After graduation, Trey has not yet decided between military, college or a federal job like corrections or state police. Trey was introduced to the club by Joe Lashway. Introducing Brayden was Tony Flint. Brayden is the son of Kyle and Erica Babcock and he has a younger brother, Landyn. Brayden participates in both football and track. He plans to attend a welding trade school after graduation.
Madison Fillhart and Kami Archer were the next set of seniors to visit the Port Rotary Club. Madison is the daughter of Justin and Christine Fillhart. She has two brothers – Tyler and Ryan. Madison participates in soccer, basketball and track. She is a Peer Helper and serves as president; is the president of the Varsity Club, French club president, serves as the Drum Major for the Marching Band; and is the Student Council president.
Madison is a member of the concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and the Drama Club. She is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Youth Group, Core Leader, Potter County Youth Leadership and represented her school and community as Miss Port Allegany for the Laurel Festival. After graduation, Madison plans to attend college and get her Physical Therapy Doctorate. Madison was introduced by Susan Flint.
Kami is the daughter of Ashely Archer. Her stepfather is Devin Thompson. She has a brother, Karter, and twin sisters – Kya and Karlee. Kami plays girls soccer. She is a member of the Peer Helpers and serves as secretary; she is captain of the Reading Team; secretary of the French Club, is a member of the Concert Choir and Yearbook Staff, Captain of the Bocce Ball team, Core Leader, a member of the Varsity Club and the Potter County Youth Leadership Program. She attends the Youth Group at the First Church of God in Eldred. After graduation, Kami plans on going on a small mission trip to be a missionary. She is not sure yet where she will go, but she will be traveling the world spreading God’s love. Kami was introduced to the club by Marty Moses.

Thomas Brown, officiating.

Kathy H. McAndrew (Bridge), 66, of 6 Jack Street, Bradford, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of October 4, 2025, in her home.
Our world is now forever changed. In a moment that still doesn’t feel real, my wife left this earth. It was sudden, heartbreaking, and nothing could have prepared us for it. My daughter and I were with her we tried everything. We fought for her breath, but God called her home before we could bring her back.
There are no words for watching someone you love so deeply slip away in your own home. No words for the silence that follows. But there is love endless, fierce, unbreakable love. And that love will carry her name in every heartbeat of ours for the rest of our lives.
NACDE President’s Awarded Sandy Thompson

Thompson Recognized by Northeast Association of Conservation District Employees The Northeast Association of Conservation District Employees (NACDE) recently announced their 2025 award recipients. Sandy Thompson, Manager of McKean County Conservation District and former Vice President of the Northeast Association of Conservation District Employees (NACDE), received the NACDE President’s Award. President Michael Kent, from Cape Atlantic Conservation District in New Jersey, selected Sandy for the award.
The NACDE President’s Award is given in recognition of outstanding service to NACDE and the Conservation Partnership in the Northeast Region. Sandy is a long-time member of NACDE, serving as Secretary from 2011 to 2016 and as Vice-President from 2017 to 2023. She has served both her District and NACDE with professionalism, dedication, and service to the cause of conservation and of District employees in the northeast. She began her conservation career in a small, rural district with limited resources and big challenges.
Arthur Lee Yeager, 84, of Smethport, PA
Arthur Lee Yeager, 84, of Smethport, passed away Friday (October 3, 2025) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.
He was born November 27, 1940 in Kane, PA, the son of John and Mary (Slocum) Yeager. In 1960, in Bradford, PA, he married Carol A. Campbell, who died September 22, 2022.
Art was a 1959 graduate of Smethport High School and a graduate of Williamsport Tech trade school.
He worked as a supervisor at American Refining Group in Bradford, PA before his retirement.

The Potter County Housing Authority is requesting bids from competent, qualified Contractors to plow and salt the following Housing owned projects in Potter County:
Redwood Village- 9 Penn Avenue, Galeton; Mountain View Apartments- 236 W. Main Street, Galeton; Ulysses Family Townhouses- 620-627 Academy and Center Streets, Ulysses and Honeoye Haven- 215 N. Union Street, Shinglehouse.
As an optional bid, please offer a per hour rate to 1. Remove snow from sidewalks, 2. Salt only wet/icy sidewalks, and/or 3. Remove snow and then salt sidewalks at Redwood Village, Honeoye Haven, Ulysses Family, and Mountain View projects.
Sidewalk snow removal and/or salting will be completed during the time of each regular parking lot snow plowing. The Agency will provide the salt for the parking lots and sidewalks as needed. Contractors will contact PCHA Maintenance Staff for approval to perform needed services each time plowing or salting is required.
