Ruth M. Ackley, 96, formally of Pine St. in Kane, PA passed away Saturday, (Sept. 2) at the Warren Manor.
Born June 14, 1927 in Port Allegany, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ella (Beckwith) McNeil. On March 28, 1947 in Kane, she married Dean Q. Ackley, who preceded her in death on June 17, 2002.
Ruth worked many years and retired from Houston Electronics. She had enjoyed rides with her late husband, crocheting and spending time with her family. She attended the First Baptist Church of Kane.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Page and her husband Lloyd of Brookville, and Beverly Nicklas and her husband Bruce of Woodland; a son Rick Ackley and his wife Jena of Warren; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; a sister Kay Hummel of Russell and a brother Ken of West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard McNeil a granddaughter, Sheri Jo Brisson and two grandsons, Ronald Brisson Jr. and Todd Brisson.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation which will take place on Wednesday (Sept 6) from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home in Kane. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 with the Rev. Bob Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
