Rose M. Franco, 98, of Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Johnsonburg, passed away early Monday morning, December 29, 2025, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born on May 7, 1927, in Johnsonburg, a daughter to the late Dominic and Mary Magra Ferragine. On September 16, 1950, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Ralph L. Franco. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2010. 

A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Rose was a 1945 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church where she was a member of the Funeral Luncheon Committee. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Johnsonburg Women’s Club, Card Club and the Johnsonburg Senior Center where she volunteered and delivered Meals on Wheels. Rose loved spending time at home with her children and grandchildren, making trips to the casino and playing bingo.

Rose had worked at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital for 7 years, retiring in 1989, and she had also worked at Elk County Catholic High School, teaching Home Economics for 4 years. 

Rose is survived by her 4 daughters, Eloise Klink of Johnsonburg, Gail Launer of Johnsonburg, Kathleen Durian (Tony) of Johnsonburg and Karen Mahoney (Patrick) of Garner, NC, her grandchildren, Michael Klink (Julie), Dan Klink (Amanda), Rob Launer (Madalyn), Jim Launer (Samantha), Steven Durian (Tara), Jason Durian (Becky) and Christina, Michelle and Rachel Mahoney. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose is predeceased by brothers John, James, Elmer, Rudolph “Rudy” and Arthur “Art” Ferragine and sisters Angeline Matzko and Helen Blint DeJulio, a great-grandson Jax Stone and Son in laws Tom Launer and Paul Klink.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Rose M. Franco to be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Thursday January 8, 2025, at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, PA.
