Phyllis A. Bell, 88, of 1328 East Main Street, Bradford, PA passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the Olean General Hospital.
Born on October 7, 1935, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Genevieve (Cappozzelli) Palmer. She was a graduate of Olean High School.
On July 7, 1999, in St. Bernard Church, she married Charles G. Bell, who survives.
Phyllis was a member of St. Maryβs of the Angels in Olean and St. Bernard Church.
For many years she was the Bookkeeper at the Greater Bradford Senior Activities Center.
Surviving in addition to her husband Charles, of 24 years, is one daughter, Debra (the late Pierce) Austin-McCleary, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, one son, Oran R. Austin Jr., of Bradford, two step daughters, Sandra (Frank) Patchel, of Seven Valleys, and Joan Bell, of Bel Air, MD, one step son, Steven (Katie) Bell, of Boulder, CO, one sister, Rose Harrington, of Weston, FL, one brother, George Palmer, of Albany, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Richard E. “Dickie” Austin who died August 14, 2001, and her late husband, Oran R. Austin, Sr.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, with Rev. John Jacquel, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
