BRADFORD, Pa. – It’s hard to put a price on great mentorship, but Donny and Amanda Wentworth Kemick, both 2004 graduates of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, are doing their best to repay Donny Kemick’s college mentor, Don Lewicki.
The Kemicks have pledged $10,000 to Pitt-Bradford to create the Donald C. Lewicki Technology Fund to provide scholarships to Pitt-Bradford students. The fund is a testament to a 20-year friendship that began when Donny Kemick — a leopard-haired, pierced singer in a heavy metal band — took a Microsoft Office class from Lewicki, a veteran of IBM, a company famous for employees in pin-striped suits and white dress shirts.

The person representing NY-23 in Congress recently published a statement about the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling affecting the 2024 election.
That statement was, I thought, a bit incendiary, employing words such as “abuse” and “assault” and I worried that people might tune into the dog-whistling and become riled by what he said.
So, I fixed it.
Today’s unprecedented Colorado Supreme Court decisionis pure partisan election interference. The abuse of our justice system to obstruct President Trump’s widely-supported re-election campaign is a blatant assault onexemplifies blind justice — the very pillar of our system of government. disenfranchising millions of voters in the process. Thisoutrageousrulingcannot be allowed to stand, will likely be appealed and work its way through the courts as our laws provide. and we will not be silent. As patriotic Americans, we must calmly and patiently await the outcome and accept it when it comes.

We keep these families that have lost a loved one this year in our thoughts and prayers. 102 candles were lit for those who passed since our last ceremony and an extra candle was lit in memory of all those we have served in the past 39 years.
