Our world grew dimmer, but oh how the Heaven’s shone brighter.
With tear-filled eyes and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our momma. She went peacefully at home, in her sleep.
Felecia Anne (Estep) Snyder, born July 13, 1952, in Bellwood, PA, currently living in Coudersport, PA. She passed away, March 25, 2024, at the age of 71.
There are so many things we could say about our momma. So simply put, her life was one of love. She was always in a work area that provided loving care for those who needed it most.
Her life was truly a love story rooted in her three children, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

HARRISBURG – With a voter identification constitutional amendment having languished in committee for nearly a year, despite bipartisan support for the concept among both the public and House members, House Republicans held a press conference Monday announcing they will be utilizing the discharge resolution process to advance the measure.
House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) noted 22 House Democrats voted to support enhanced voter identification requirements in a prior House vote, meaning only three more Democrats need to sign on to the discharge petition to get the constitutional amendment out of committee.

3 years ago today, we responded to our first emergency incident, to assist Blossburg Fire & EMS with a search near Arnot.
Since then we’ve responded to over 70 requests in support of fires, flooding, searches, manhunts, damage assessments, and more.
Through the support of community members, emergency responders, and public safety professionals in North Central PA, we’ve updated our drone capabilities, added marine capabilities in the form of an underwater ROV in 2022 and a 16’ boat with side scan sonar in 2023. We’ve built the first of its kind relationship with US Customs & Border Protection’s Air & Marine Ops division, and worked directly with them and Border Patrol operators in 2023. We also focused on next generation recruiting with the addition of a high tech simulator through a grant from the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health. We are a member agency of the newly formed Task Force 81 which includes departments from around the region who have unmanned and remote technology.
A lot has happened in 3 years and we feel proud and fortunate to have the support, partnerships, and trust that we do.
We’re working hard to grow more in 2024 with some projects and plans that are in the works.
Our motto is “Novus Optios”, which simply means “New Options”.
It is with mixed emotions we announce the sale of three of our locations to Rite Aid. It was a decision we did not reach lightly. Due to poor insurance reimbursement, independent pharmacies across the country are being forced to close their doors. Pharmacy organizations representing all sectors of retail pharmacy have been aggressively asking legislators to address these issues with the pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs) for quite some time. Unfortunately, they have been slow in taking action. It simply is not a sustainable business model when total reimbursement is less that the costs we pay for medications.
Thank you to everyone in surrounding communities that have supported our business over the years. We appreciate you. It has been our pleasure to take care of your prescription needs.
A huge thank you to ALL of our employees, both past and present. We value each and every one of you. You are what made our business successful for over 40 years.
We are grateful that Rite Aid remains committed to serving rural Pennsylvania and has offered employment to all of our current staff in Potter and McKean counties. No action is required on your part to transfer your prescriptions. All of the prescriptions from our Eldred and Smethport locations will be automatically transferred to Rite Aid in Port Allegany and all of the prescriptions from our Coudersport pharmacy will be automatically transferred to Rite Aid in Coudersport. The last day of business in our Smethport location will be Monday April 8th, Eldred will be Tuesday April 9th, and Coudersport will be Wednesday April 10th.
Please note that there is no change to our Westfield and Elkland locations. With a more diverse and better payor mix in Tioga County, those stores will continue to remain open and it will be business as usual. Once again, we are continuing to operate our stores in Westfield and Elkland.
We sincerely appreciate the support of our valued patients over the past several decades. It has been a privilege to serve you.
