MARILYN HORNE MUSEUM AND EXHIBIT CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW HOURS
The Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center will adopt a new operating schedule designed to better support student employees.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 29, the museum will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
Although regular Sunday hours will be discontinued, visitors may request a Sunday appointment by completing a form available at www.marilynhorne.org.
As a part of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, the museum relies on Pitt-Bradford students to run the museum. The updated schedule allows work shifts that fit more closely with students’ academic schedules, helping them balance coursework with professional development opportunities.
Annual Student Prayer Circle At Port Allegany High School
“See You at the Pole” is a student-led, Christian prayer event held annually on the fourth Wednesday of September before the school day begins. Students meet at the flagpoles to pray for their schools, communities and nation. Originating in 1990 in Burleson, TX, this event has grown into a worldwide movement with millions of students participating each year. PITT-BRADFORD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO RECOGNIZE CLARK, CRYTZER
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will recognize Dr. William Clark, assistant professor of education, and Jenny Crytzer ’08 during Alumni and Family Weekend Friday and Saturday.
Clark will receive the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association Teaching Excellence Award, and Crytzer will receive the Denny Lowery Distinguished Volunteer Award at dinner on Saturday.
Both Clark and Crytzer will be recognized alongside Athletic Hall of Fame inductees Evan Greening ’17 (basketball) and Zach Foster ’12 (baseball).
Clark will receive the teaching award from Madison Hartman ’25. Hartman and two of her classmates nominated Clark for the honor.

James A. Soyke, 89, of High Street, Bradford, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Bradford Manor.
Born on January 22, 1936, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Alexander and Dorothy M. (McQuay) Soyke.
He was a 1954 graduate of Homestead High School.
Jim enlisted in the United States Navy on August 26, 1954 and served on the USS Kearsarge, USS Oriskany, until his honorable discharge on July 16, 1958.

She was employed by W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery for twenty-seven years; retiring in April 2016.

He was born on December 6, 1941, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Jonas and Helen Timblin Deahl.
On April 7, 1962, he married Carol Neal Deahl, who survives. Together they shared more than 63 years of marriage.
William was employed at Pure Carbon for 38 years. In his free time, William found joy in hunting and fishing. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Born June 22, 1937, in Englewood, NJ, he was the son of George F. and Lena Altorfer Tormey. A graduate of Northern Potter High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1962. On December 23, 1960, in Harrison Valley, he married Beverly Kibbe, who predeceased him on April 24, 2013. He was employed by CNG for many years.

Born June 24, 1941, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Clifford and Phyllis (Harrington) Gorton. He was a 1959 graduate of Bradford High School.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Germany and Turkey, and was honorably discharged in 1964.

Parking & Safety Update – Bradford High School Area
The City of Bradford Police Department would like to inform the public of new parking changes along Interstate Parkway in front of Bradford High School:
• 🚫 A red fire lane has been added and is clearly marked.
• ⏱️ Directly in front of the school, 4 spaces are designated as 15-minute parking only.
• 🚷 New yellow no parking zones have been painted to improve line of sight at the crosswalk, enhancing pedestrian safety.
These zones are enforced, so please be observant and follow all posted signs. Your cooperation keeps our students, staff, and community safe.
Additionally, we want to remind students and staff that Bradford Regional Medical Center has requested that its parking lot be used for hospital business only. Unauthorized vehicles may be subject to towing. Please respect their wishes.

Eden C. Bennett, 44, of Olean passed away with her loving family and friends by her side on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a prolonged illness.
Born on Thursday, January 29, 1981 in Olean NY, she was a daughter of Mark Bennett and Virginia Busch Bennett, adding to an already extensive family tree. On May 20, 2006 in Allegany NY, Eden started her own branch of that tree when she took as her husband Robert “Bob” Graff, who survives. That union would yield two children who would enrich both of their lives and would continue to be the light of her life in both this life and the next.
