Sandra Lee “Sandy” Snyder, 82, of 185 Center Street, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 7, 1943, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Guy Kenneth and Margaret Ann Hackett Green. She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys, and worked throughout her life in the Powdered Metal industry, retiring from Windfall Products in 2005.
BRADFORD, Pa. — Warren residents John and Cindy Jarzab and their daughter, Christine Jarzab Kuntz, have endowed a new fund at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford that will help the university’s business management and accounting students.
The Jarzab Family Business Fund will support the faculty and students in the business management program by sponsoring opportunities that enhance the education experience, such as guest speakers, student and faculty projects, field trips, conference registration fees, and the purchase of technology and related.
“We gave this money because I’d like to see students have opportunities,” John Jarzab said. “I have always been a fan of Pitt-Bradford.” Jarzab, who taught accounting in Pitt-Bradford in the 1990s as an adjunct faculty member, noted that the university serves North Central Pennsylvania and provides many students with an education that will lift their families economically. “That’s what I liked about teaching. When you teach people, you give them the tools they need to make them successful.”
Calvin L. Grabofski, 94, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of Lady Lake, FL, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 with his family by his side at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Nadine Kathrine Ordway, 87, of Whitesville, went to be home with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She was born January 5, 1938, in North Tonawanda, the daughter of the late Jack and Lyda (Turner) Waugaman.
Nadine was raised in North Tonawanda and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. She was the Director of the Whitesville Public Library for 31 years. She was a member of the Living Hope Center in Whitesville, life member of the Whitesville Ladie Auxiliary, and in earlier years she was an active volunteer at the Whitesville Central School; she enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, word searches and backgammon.
Laurie Senn Sagerman, 70, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness. Born March 6, 1955, in Buffalo, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Marcia (Shearer) Senn. On December 28, 1990, in Williamsville, she married the love of her life, Gary R. Sagerman, who survives.
Laurie was a graduate of Williamsville High School and dedicated her life to caring for others. With her natural warmth, she worked as a caregiver for many years, focusing on hospice, where her grace and empathy touched countless lives.
Laurie Angood will be teaching a Beginner Watercolor Class on May 24 from 1 – 3. In this class students will practice painting a landscape using one color, focusing on color value and other compositional techniques to describe their subject. Price of the class is $35.00 and includes all materials.
Brenda Bonczar and Lisa Bretz will be teaching a Kids Sewing Class for ages 9 and up on May 28 from 3:00 – 5:30. In this class, students will be making their own ‘Stuffy.’ Price of the class is $30.00. All materials provided

Mary Ann Lewis, 67, of Ridgway, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born on January 9, 1958, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Clifford L. and Geraldine Rousch Vantassel.
On April 22, 1978, Mary Ann married Hallie L. Lewis Jr., who preceded her in death on July 26, 2022. Together they shared more than 44 years of love and marriage.
James F. “Aggie” Agnew, 62, of Warren, PA., died Monday morning, May 19, 2025, at his residence, of natural causes.
He was born February 12, 1963, in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Jan F. and Cindi Ponsoll Agnew. Jim was a 1981 graduate of Warren Area High School, where he excelled in basketball, baseball and football.

AUSTIN, PA—Richard T. Glover, 77, a lifelong resident of Austin, went to be with the Lord, with his loving wife of 50 years by his side, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.

Alice J. Kiefer, 90, of Wellsville, died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center, with loved ones by her side. She was born January 4, 1935, in Cheektowaga, the daughter of the late Leo L. and Regina D. (Broniskzewski) Kaminski. On August 14, 1954, in Cheektowaga, she married Kenneth Kiefer, who predeceased her in 1980.
Leadership Elk Cameron (LEC) participants visited the State Capitol in early May. The group met with Senator Dush’s Chief of Staff, Representatives Armanini and Causer, and representatives of the Pennsylvania Treasury. The Senator and Representatives engaged the group in discussions about how state government functions, how laws are introduced and amended, as well as concerns in our communities and how to address them.
George P. Dubots, Jr. “beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend”
George P. Dubots, Jr., 79, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born on Tuesday, January 29, 1946, in Coudersport, he was a son of George P. Sr. and Helen E. Pekarski Dubots.
George was a graduate of Coudersport High School, Class of 1963. He furthered his education at Lock Haven University.
George, who was retired, was employed for many years at Pure Carbon and was additionally employed by Maple Manor in Port Allegany.
George was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport. He was a man of great faith having sent daily blessings by Facebook Messenger to family and friends. George was very committed to the AA program as a mentor for over 45 years for anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He helped his brother with the family business, Jerry’s Meat Processing in Coudersport. He enjoyed all sports, especially the sports his children and grandchildren participated in. He loved his dogs and many others of friends and family. His greatest love was his family.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, George P. (Vicky) Dubots III of Coudersport; a daughter-in-law, Jodi L. (Anderson) Dubots of Temecula, California; five grandchildren, Darian Dubots, Damon Dubots, Cole Dubots, Dana (Hunter) Redmond, and Callie Dubots, who all lovingly called George, “Fishing Grandpa”; and a great-grandson, Archer F. Redmond who George was elated to welcome to the family. Also left to cherish his memory are two bonus grandchildren, Devin (Myk) Fox and Garrett (Macie) Kio; two bonus great-grandchildren, Anna Bean and Michael Bean; a sister, Frances C. Carpenter of Coudersport; a sister-in-law, Jenny Pekarski of Croydon, PA; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Jim and Tammy Harkins, Jim and Kristin Gavin, Tim Schoener, and many others too numerous to list individually.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a son, John P. Dubots; three brothers, James W. Pekarski, Joseph A. Dubots, and Jerome F. Dubots; a brother-in-law, Michael J. Carpenter, Sr; and two nephews, Michael J. Carpenter, Jr. and James W. Pekarski, Jr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Eulalia Catholic Church, Coudersport, on a date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in George’s name may be made to his son’s memory and legacy, The John P. Dubots Scholarship Fund, c/o Citizens & Northern Bank, 10 N. Main Street, Coudersport, PA 16915; to Alcoholics Anonymous on their online Contributions portal; or charity of the donor’s choice.

Susan Babcock Healy, 60, of Port Allegany, PA July 25, 1964 – May 13,2025
Susan Babcock Healy, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous two-year battle with leukemia. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Luke, son Bryce (Britani) Healy, daughter Caryne (Cody) Williams, her parents Ed and Diane Babcock, brother Ed Babcock, Jr. (Missy), sister Cheryl Russell (Mike), grandchildren Jackson and Harper Healy & Madden Williams and several nieces and nephews.
Born on July 25, 1964, in Port Allegany, PA, Susan was a beacon of love, joy, and unwavering faith throughout her life. She graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1982 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College in 1986. She later earned her Master of Education from Drexel University, a testament to her lifelong passion for learning and teaching.

Port Allegany Wine Walk founders and organizers George and Susan Riley attended the monthly meeting of the Port Allegany Women’s Club to present checks to the club for their Small Town Christmas Project and to the Port Allegany Historical Society. Now in its 7th year, the Wine Walk has raised over $40,000 for local groups. Past donations include $4000 to the Star Hose Fire Company #1 in year one of the Wine Walk; they collected $2,200 for the Port Allegany Recreation Authority/Community Pool – even though there was no walk that year due to COVID; $6000 in year three to PAAS; $6,500 in year four to the S. W. Smith Library; $7,750 was given to Youth Sports in year five and the largest donation to date was given in 2024 to the Port Center/50 Plus Club in the amount of $8000. Donations to the PAWC and Historical Society totaled $7600.

The congregation at the Evangelical Covenant Church celebrated Confirmation Sunday during the morning worship service on May 18th. After two years of confirmation classes, four students were confirmed. They were Aiden Bliss, Alayna Palmer, Lillianne Reed and Delaney Stromberg. These students participated in the worship service from beginning to end, even delivering the sermon. Also participating were first year confirmation students Cooper Bliss, Gillian Stromberg and Iziah Petruzzi. They are pictured with their confirmation teacher and pastor of the church, J. T. Madison.
