Miska Young of Port Allegany Recognized at Awards Ceremony
Miska Young from Port Allegany High School was recognized in the 2024 Awards Presentation Banquet of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame at Penn State University.
The National Foundation was founded in 1947 as a member-supported, non-profit organization that operates nationwide programs devoted to achieve its mission which is “Using the power of amateur football in developing leadership, sportsmanship, competitive spirit and academic excellence in America’s youth”.
Port Allegany’s Young was recognized in the 2024 award ceremony honoring Senior scholar-athletes from 52 high schools and 10 colleges and universities. These outstanding young men were selected to receive this Achievement Award based on three criteria: Football skill, Academic success, and Community Service. Additionally, a select number of the highest ranking seniors, including Port Allegany’s Young, each received a $1,000 scholarship.
Young will attend St. Bonaventure University to study health science and will continue his athletic career as a member of the SBU Men’s Rugby team.
