Duane T. “Dane” Williamson, 68, of 526 Second Avenue, Johnsonburg, PA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, early Sunday morning, August 13, 2023 following an illness of the past several months.
He was born on May 23, 1955 in St. Marys, a son to the late Raymond and Beverly A. Herbstritt Williamson. On March 5, 1977 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Rebecca “Becky” Dellaquila and she survives.
Dane was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and was a 1974 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Johnsonburg Elks, Johnsonburg American Legion, Central Hose Co., Wilcox Sportsmen’s Club, PFL and the Ridgway Eagles. Dane had retired from Keystone Carbon Co. in 2016 after 44 years of service.
Over the years, Dane had coached Midget Football and Girls Softball in Johnsonburg. Dane was an avid Johnsonburg sports fan, he loved attending all sporting events. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, bingo, boating and cooking.
Dane is survived by his wife Rebecca “Becky” Williamson at home, daughters Jennifer Arnold (Scott) of Slatington and Jennifer Quattrone (Josh) of Ridgway, grandchildren Brayden and Rachel Arnold and Della Quattrone and his brothers Daniel “Danny” Williamson of Benezette and Allen “Al” Williamson and his companion Lisa Spaid of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by a sister-in law Debbie Williamson of Johnsonburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Dane is predeceased by a brother Scott Williamson, a sister Mary Kay Garner and an uncle David Herbstritt.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane T. “Dane” Williamson will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street chapel, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
