Dorothy E. “Dot” Bauer, 89, of Smethport, passed away Thursday (April 3, 2025) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.

She was born July 1, 1935 in Mars, PA. On November 22, 1973, in Saxonburg, PA, she married Barton “Mel” Bauer, who died December 5, 2018.

Dot worked as a dietician as her last job.

She was a volunteer for many organizations over the years. She was an E.M.T., a member of the Smethport VFW #2497 and the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport, a former member of the Saxonburg, PA Fire Dept., and the Norwich Twp. Fire Dept. in Crosby, PA.

She is survived by:

A Godson: Damin (Kelly) Parris of Smethport

Step daughter: Marilyn J. Harvey of Cabot, PA

A grandson: Jeremy

One brother: Les Rearick in California

a niece: Diane, and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dot was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

In keeping with Dot’s wishes, there will be no services.
