Coudersport Rotary Club Hosted Shelley Butler

At their August 11, 2025 meeting, at A&W West End Grill, Coudersport Rotary Club hosted Shelley Butler to talk about the Coudersport Chamber of Commerce.
Shelley Butler is a Legislative Aide for Martin Causer’s office. Her son, Dan Butler, sang beautifully at our first annual Christmas Concert.
She has begun re-opening the Coudersport Chamber of Commerce. A Coudersport native, her father was Director of Public Works. She lived in Wellsville, NY, for a while and came back to Coudersport in 2019. Shelley has served on the Northern Potter School Board as well as the Wellsville School Board.
Shelley embarked upon reorganizing the Chamber last January. Local business owners and employees, John Lenox, Dennis Goodenough, Caroline Powers, Danielle Stilson, Kelly Bruno, and Susan Williams are also involved in the reorganization.
Shelley was elected Coudersport Chamber of Commerce President a year ago. and in February, they set goals to retrieve their 501c3 status, update their by-laws, increase benefits for members, and improve contact access. They have increased their social footprint with posts on Instagram and Facebook.
The Chamber now has 30 members. Membership is open to individuals, non-profits, churches, charities, and businesses. Meetings are monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm at the Chamber office located at the old Domestic Relations office in Coudersport’s downtown main street. All are welcome to attend.
To date they’ve held a baby contest at the Maple Festival and during the summer, every other Friday held “Food Fun Fridays” with a local musician at the Gazebo and food trucks.
They are hoping to have Town Wide Yard Sales and have proposed a “Christmas Lane,” – a trail map where participants can get stamps by visiting each business. The completed maps would be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate. Andy Dubots has offered to chair a committee for a Chili Cook-off at area businesses at the end of winter.
Coudersport Chamber of Commerce membership fees are $50 for individuals and non-profits, $100 for businesses with fifty or less employees, $150 for businesses with under one hundred employees, and $250+ for all other businesses.
Thank you, Shelley, for your informative and interesting presentation!
