Wellsville Police arrested Preston E. Proctor, age 21, of Ulysses, PA, charging him with Assault 2nd (Class D Felony) and Conspiracy 5th (Class A Misdemeanor). The charges stem from an incident that took place on Stevens Street on July 29th. Proctor was arraigned before Town of Wellsville Justice Graves. Proctor was released on pre-trial supervision by the Allegany County Probation Department. Proctor is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 19th at 4:30 pm.

On 08/06/2023 at approximately 0121 hrs, City of Bradford Police conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation.
The male passenger was found to have an open container of alcohol and he provided a name and date of birth to the officers conducting the investigation. Officers were able to determine the male had provided a false name and date of birth.
The male was fingerprinted and found to be James Earle Pittman of Buffalo NY.
It was also determined that Pittman was a fugitive from justice wanted on Robbery charges out of NY. Officer arrested Pittman on the warrant from NY and also charged him accordingly on the charge of false identification to law enforcement.
Magistrate Cercone arraigned Pittman placing $2,500 strait cash bail on the false identification charge and no bail was given on the fugitive from justice charge. Gale M. Thomason, 65, and John E. Thomason, 63, we’re traveling north in the left lane at 3:22 p.m. and tried to change from the left lane to the right when they’re trailing unit became disconnected and they lost control.
The vehicle entered into a skid and partially entered the right lane, returning to the left lane which caused the trailer unit to overturn, police said. Those at the scene said the driver, a long time medical doctor in Potter County, was hauling a camper.
