Drug Possession Arrest In Bradford Twp.


Wellsville Police, acting on an Indictment Warrant issued by the Allegany County Court, arrested Brian N. Whitcher, age 50 of Wellsville, charging him with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (Class D Felony) and 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th (Class D Felony).
The charges stem from an investigation into the sale of controlled substances (Methamphetamine) in March of 2023 and December of 2023. Whitcher was processed and committed to the Allegany County Jail without bail. Whitcher is due to be arraigned in Allegany County Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police arrested Nathaniel A. Roeske, age 34 of Wellsville, charging him on a Fugitive of Justice Warrant from Pennsylvania. Roeske was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Roeske was committed to the Allegany County Jail without bail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announced today the number of firearms purchase denials and subsequent investigations for the first quarter of 2024.
The Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS) is used by county sheriffs, chiefs of police of cities of the first class, and licensed firearms dealers to determine an individual’s legal ability to acquire a license to carry firearms or to obtain a firearm through a purchase or transfer. When an individual attempts to provide false information on a state and/or federal form, an investigation is initiated, and an investigation referral is sent to the corresponding law enforcement agency.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that the Port Allegany woman charged with having intercourse with a student while she was a volunteer at the school pled guilty during a plea hearing in front of the Judge at the McKean County Courthouse on March 28th.
Denise Evens was charged by Officer Adam Dickerson of the Port Allegany Police Department after he received a report of Evens engaging in a sex act with a male who was a student with the school district in 2022. At the time of the crime, she was a volunteer at the school. Evens pled guilty to Institutional Sexual Assault of a Minor. Pursuant to Pennsylvania law, she will be evaluated by the Sex Offender Assessment Board to determine if she meets the definition of a sexually violent predator.
