The enigmatic life of Howard Earl Ott, of Big Run, PA concluded on Monday, March 25, at Riverside Manor. He was just five days shy of 84. Howard was born on March 30, 1940, in Punxsutawney, the seventh child of the late Donald James and Gertrude Caroline (Zimmerman) Ott. Growing up in the Harmony/Adrian area, he and his eight siblings knew sacrifice and hardship, growing up in post-WWII America in a single-parent environment.
He graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1957, and later enlisted in the USAF, training at Lackland AFB in Texas, then serving as an MP in exotic locations such as Morocco and the Deep South. His duties included defense and security of the B52s and other large aircraft vital to the nuclear capabilities of the U.S. military. Just prior to his honorable discharge in 1962, Howard met Jennieve (Jenny Vee) Gillentine while serving at the Blytheville, Arkansas Air Force Base. They were married on May 25, 1962, and later made their home in Big Run for over 60 years. Howard worked as a meatcutter at the A&P Market, in Punxsutawney before beginning an apprenticeship with IBEW and continuing in that field until his retirement.
Howard enjoyed college sports and was an avid Penn State football fan attending many seasons worth of home and Bowl games. He also enjoyed and supported high school sports and local youth athletics. Upon retiring, he developed a passion for golf and scored a hole-in-one on July 31, 2008. He continued to play the game into his 80s and until he was no longer physically able to do so. He was a Freemason and a member of the Coudersport Consistory, also a proud member of the Jaffa Shriners.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife; two infant brothers; his brother, Russel; and sisters Delores, Beverley, Carol, Ruth, Sara, Geraldine and Cheryl.
Surviving Howard are his four children, Leslie Baxter and husband Kenneth of Salem, Utah, Donald Ott and wife Cheryl of Linesville, Daniel Ott of West Jordan, Utah, and Darrin Ott and wife Karen of Coudersport; nine grandchildren, Michelle Baxter-Maynard, Chad Baxter and wife Jen, Megan Jepperson, K.C. Baxter, Christian Baxter, Josiah Ott, Owen Ott, Ameilia Ott and Ethan Ott; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Victor P. Kolesar, Sr., age 75 of Westfield, PA passed away on March 23, 2024 at home with his wife. Born on January 22, 1949 in Brownsville, PA, he was the son of the late Joe W. and Jessie I. (Barber) Kolesar.
He was a graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, Class of 1967. While there he was active in chorus, track, football, baseball and basketball. Vic worked for the former A & P in Horseheads, K & W Medical Supplies and in the big kitchen at the Tioga County Fair in the 90’s, where he met his wife. He also worked for his sister, Marie’s Meat Market, his brother, Buzz’s bowling alley and garage and his brother, Gene’s garage.
He was a former PIAA-certified umpire, coached Little League baseball, softball and Junior bowling at Valley Bowling in Westfield. He was also a former charter member of the Jaycee’s Lions Club of Westfield and a member of the Men’s Bowling Association of Westfield. Vic loved to golf, bowl, go fishing in Canada with family and friends, used to play men’s baseball and fast-pitch softball, running the chains for football games at C.V. and announcing ballgames in Elkland. He also loved to watch football, basketball, baseball and golf at both, C.V. High School and on TV.
Cynthia Ann Losey, 73, of Lawrenceville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Born May 28, 1950, in Corning, NY. She was the daughter of the late Roland D. and Jean (Miller) Losey.
Cynthia graduated from Williamson High School, attended Lock Haven University, and received her bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. She had a successful and rewarding career as a social worker / supervisor at a halfway house in St. Petersburg.
Cynthia retired to Lawrenceville in 2010 to care for her father, Roland, in the last years of his life. Cynthia inherited the co-management and bookkeeping of the Power Cemetery from him, where she enjoyed restoring, researching, and organizing the information in service to all who rest there.
She was an amazing golfer, almost going pro in her younger years, and will be missed by her current community at Indian Hills GC. She was a beloved classmate and organizer of WHS Class Reunions, reflecting 50+ years of close contact with many who will miss her. She loved dogs, rescuing and caring for many through the years – including her current rescue, Phoebe, who brought her so much joy.
ELDRED — Gerry Zetler was born Dec. 9, 1924, to Lee Baker and Lillian Dolan Baker. She was the second child in a family of four and the first girl. She followed Don and then became an older sister to Richard and Dorothy. She grew up in Rixford and graduated from the Otto Junior-Senior High School in 1943.
While the men in her graduating class were going off to war, she went to Mansfield State Teacher’s College for her bachelor’s degree and later on to Geneseo for her master’s. Gerry started her career at Otto-Eldred and finished it with Bradford School District.
While WWII was going on, Gerry spent summers working at the munitions plant in Eldred. She was one of the real Rosie the Riveters and proud of it. She later volunteered at the Eldred WWII Museum, telling her story to anyone who came through the doors.
After the war was over and her education completed, she married Merle (Bud) Zetler in a quiet ceremony in her family home surrounded by loved ones.
After 10 years of wedded bliss, it was time for a child. Suzy was born in May 1958. While she was busy with Suzy’s raising, she managed to find time to belong to many organizations.
Thomas M. Yohe, 65, of 107 State Street, Bradford, PA passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at his residence with his devoted wife by his side.
Born on February 28, 1959, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John E. “Jack” and Shirley J. (Fields) Yohe. He was a 1977 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On May 24, 1991, in the West Branch United Methodist Church, he married Amy S. (Pearce) Yohe, who survives.
Tom met Amy while working at Werzalit where he worked for 22 years. Together they owned and operated the Cabinetree Woodshop for 20 years. He worked at Ace Hardware and Walmart and loved assisting customers.
William A. “Bill” Thomas, 62, of Emporium, PA passed away at his residence on Monday morning (March 25, 2024). He was born September 11, 1961 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late Robert L. Thomas and Nancy L. Spellenberg Thomas.
Bill worked at GKN for many years and later at a golf coarse in Douglasville, Georgia.
James Paul Mayer, 53, of Wellsboro, PA passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on March 15, 2024. James was born on May 4, 1970 in Elmira NY, a son of the late Sheldon and Barbara (Crane) Mayer.
James grew up in Elmira, NY and graduated from the Boces program in 1993. Shortly after his graduation, James joined the US Army National Guard. During his service, he was sent to NYC after the 9/11 attack for search and rescue and subway detail. About a year later, James was deployed to Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom. James demonstrated true valor, honor and commitment to his country as he proudly served. James could be summed up in three words: family, God and country.
James loved to help others whether it was just taking someone somewhere or to help fix whatever needed to be done. There was no job too big for him to try to tackle. He loved to go camping with his family, play his video games, and watch his army movies (shows) in his free time.
Despite all this hobbies, nothing gave James more joy than the time he spent with this family; this above all was his greatest and most treasured passion. In the 53 years that James lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a hero, a husband, a dad, a papa, an uncle and friend. James truly had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, lending a listening ear, or his arms for a hug. James did not live for just his happiness but for the happiness of others. He was taken from us far too soon, but leaves behind a legacy and a lifetime of memories that will forever be in our hearts.
Raymond Petteys, Jr., 65, of Port Allegany, PA passed away Sunday (March 24, 2024) at his home in Port Allegany.
He was born January 20, 1959 in Port Allegany, the son of Raymond Petteys, Sr. and Judith (Chilson) Petteys. In Port Allegany, PA, he married Linda VanSickles, who survives.
Ray was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and worked at Ethan Allen Co. of Eldred, PA.
He was a member of the Port Allegany Fire Department.
John L. Cottillion, 88, of Warren, PA, died Sunday morning, March 24, 2024, at Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA., after an extended illness. He was born October 5, 1935, in Warren, PA. He was the son of George and Kathryn Cottillion. John was a lifelong Warren area resident.
He was a 1954 graduate of Warren Area High School. John had served with the U.S. Army from September 11, 1956, to September 11, 1958, as a Private First Class.
John was employed in the bookkeeping department as an accountant with United Refining Company. He was a former member of the Warren Archery Club and thoroughly loved hunting, especially archery season.
Lois Jean Schueltz, 92, formerly of 15 Applewood Lane, Bradford, PA passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born March 26, 1931, in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mabel (Walker) Hulings. She was a 1948 graduate of Beatty High School, in Warren.
On June 13, 1953, in the Grace Lutheran Church in Warren, she married Herbert A. Schueltz, who preceded her in death on October 16, 2016.
Lois was formerly employed as a secretary at Pennsylvania State University, and for nearly 10 years at the Hanley Company.
Lois was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she played the piano, and was a Sunday School Teacher, Lector, sang in the Choir and was a Greeter.
She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, and being a wonderful friend.
James H. McCUTCHAN, 83, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 in his home.
Born May 28, 1940, in Nogales, AZ, he was the son of Verne C. and Virginia Reese McCutchan.
A graduate of Miami High School, Miami, AZ, he attended Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale, AZ, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, and the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, where he graduated on June 1, 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In 1986, he earned a professional degree, Certified Public Manager (CPM).
Robert L. Henderson, 76, of 10 South Fourth Street, Bradford, PA passed away, Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Pavilion at BRMC.
Born on July 28, 1947, in Bradford, he was a son of the late William and Virgina (Maben) and Henderson. He was a 1965 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On March 28, 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged March 27, 1969.
Bob traveled throughout the country working in healthcare most of his career, finally settling in Bradford and working for Bradford Regional Medical as a Cardiac Monitor Tech until his retirement. He worked for over 40 years in healthcare.
Bob loved going to the casino, cruises, and video games on his Kindle. He was a avid Buffalo Bills fan and had a love for animals.
Our world grew dimmer, but oh how the Heaven’s shone brighter.
With tear-filled eyes and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our momma. She went peacefully at home, in her sleep.
Felecia Anne (Estep) Snyder, born July 13, 1952, in Bellwood, PA, currently living in Coudersport, PA. She passed away, March 25, 2024, at the age of 71.
There are so many things we could say about our momma. So simply put, her life was one of love. She was always in a work area that provided loving care for those who needed it most.
Her life was truly a love story rooted in her three children, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Heather Lynn Bortz-Esbri, 60, of Russell, Pennsylvania died after a brief illness on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Heather was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and was the oldest of four children. In 1972, she along with her family moved to Warren, Pennsylvania where her parent’s acquired ownership of Cable Hollow Golf Course. Later, they would move again to Russell, Pennsylvania and live across from the 11th hole of the family business.
In school, she was a cheerleader for the Pleasant Panthers, and she played her flute in the Eisenhower High School marching band. After graduating from Eisenhower in 1982, she acquired her licensed practical nursing degree, and worked in local nursing homes of the Warren area. She would move on from her nursing career and join her family at Cable Hollow Golf Course and serve as their head waitress.
Janice S. Amann, 80, a lifelong resident of Sabinsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.
Born June 7, 1943, in Sabinsville, she was a daughter of the late Joe B. and Iola (Wilcox) Stebbins. She was a 1961 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School and on June 9, 1961, in Borden, NY, she married Fred A. Amann, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2006.
She worked at the Electri-Cord in Westfield for over 40 years. She was a member of the Clymer Baptist Church in Sabinsville where she taught Junior Church for many years, was the Sunday School financial secretary and a member of the choir.
She greatly enjoyed shopping, was a talented ceramic painter, made many scrapbooks, was an avid reader, enjoyed watching her “shows”, and especially loved rummage sales, both going to them and having her own every summer. Janice was an amazing woman who loved her family and friends and would help anyone who needed it. She was loved and will be missed by many.
Denise Liliane Schmitt Losey of Pioneer Road, Emporium PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19th. She was born in Strasbourg, Alsace, France on the 30th of June 1930 to Francois Paul and Irma Marie Burr Schmitt. Her life in France was idyllic until WWII when she experienced nightly air raids and evacuations during the Nazi invasion. During her teenage years the occupation required she change her nationality from French to German, then back to French after the allied victory. She was fluent in French, German and English which garnered her work as an interpreter for the US Army and the American Graves Registration Command in Paris before she emigrated to the US at the age of 18.
After coming to Emporium, she was employed by Sylvania starting in the secretary pool until being noticed for her translating skills. She met a young draftsman, Harold Losey while at Sylvania and in 2023 they celebrated 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death by 6 days, a testament to their devotion to each other.
Roy D. Jackson “loving husband and missionary of Christ”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA— Roy D. Jackson, 82, a lifelong resident of Shinglehouse, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 31, 1941, in Bolivar, NY (Allegany County), he was the son of the late David Samuel Jackson and Rhoda Iantha Chain. On April 8, 1961, in Conneaut Lake at the Church of Faith, Roy married Carol Grayce Gamble. Together they shared almost 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Roy was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, a pipefitter at Dresser Rand for 29 years, and a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church, located in Coudersport, PA. With a heart for people and missionary work, Roy dedicated his life to serving others. In fact he traveled to over 33 different countries and distributed Bibles through World Mission Alliance. When Roy was not traveling, he loved gardening because he liked (as he would say) “to watch things grow,” and he also enjoyed giving people garden vegetables and talking about the Lord. Around the house, Roy loved to sing, talk about books and mission trips, and share his wonderful sense of humor. Oftentimes, his family would say when he teased: “That was an RJ joke.” He will be greatly missed.
Fred W. Disney, 85, of Lewis Run, PA was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, after a brief stay at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born on October 7, 1938, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Roy E. and Lenore (Ward) Disney. He was a 1956 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On December 31, 1960, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lewis Run, he married Marie (Frenz) Disney, who survives.
Fred was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Gifford. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, riding his four-wheeler, spending time outside, watching wildlife and tending to his garden. Fred was a prayer warrior and was known for his gentleness, kindness, and his love for helping others.
He was employed at Wright Monumental Works in high school, and continued his working career at Kendall Refining Company, starting in the barrel house. He worked his way up to Lead Production Supervisor at the Kendall/Amalie Packaging Plant and later took on additional responsibilities for Production Planning and Inventory Management at both the Packaging Plant and Blending Plant. He also owned and operated Disney’s Garage, famous for the area’s premier Auto Rust Proofing services, and Disney’s Dairy World.
Smethport – Mary Elizabeth Dibble, 93, of Smethport, PA passed away Wednesday (March 20, 2024) at The Pavilion at BRMC, Bradford, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 13, 1931 at her home in Smethport and was the daughter of Francis Patrick and Margaret Charlotte (Hubbard) Duffy. On August 1, 1953, at St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport, PA, she married G. W. Dibble (aka Mr. Terrible), who died May 10, 2010.
Mrs. Dibble was a Smethport High School graduate and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Edinboro University, and later, her master’s in education as well.
Mrs. Dibble was an elementary school teacher for the Smethport Borough, Farmers Valley and, finally, the consolidated Smethport Elementary School for a total of 27 years.
Her husband’s career in the Air Force found them living in several different states before his retirement allowed them to return to Smethport to be near family. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Smethport Garden Club, and the Red Hats. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, stained glass work, gardening, reading, and wood carving. She was always ready for family gatherings, a chance to travel or any other fun opportunity that came along.

Renaee Lynn Griffin, 49, of 786 North Main Street, Limestone, NY, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Olean General Hospital.
Born March 16, 1974, in Mt. Pleasant, SC, she was a daughter of the late Russell Hunt Sr and Barbara Cornwell She was a graduate of George Mason School.
On July 30, 1991, in the Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pinopolis, SC, she married Michael Griffin who survives.
Renaee was happiest being a stay at home wife, mother and grandmother watching the kids play their sports.
Mary Ann Collins, 80, of 170 Irishtown Road, Kersey, PA passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Penn Highlands Clearfield, following a brief illness.
She was born July 18, 1943, in Joliet, IL, daughter of the late Camden J. and Mary E. (Vail) Kent, Sr. Mary Ann was a graduate of Edison High School in East Gary, IN, Class of 1961 and had been a resident of the area since 1964.
On June 27, 1964, in East Gary, IN, Mary Ann married Michael J. Collins, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 8, 2020. They were blessed to share 55 years of marriage.
Donald P. Smith, Sr., 90, known to most as “Don or Smitty”, of West Branch Township, Potter County, PA, “went to be with his beloved Ann to the happy hunting grounds” in heaven. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Monday, March 18, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport. Born February 1, 1934, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Melvin and Amelia (Chrapek) Smith.
Don graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952. On October 28, 1956, he married the former Anna Platt, who preceded him in death in 2001. Don was a veteran having served as Sargent in the United States Army in Germany. He worked for the Pa Game Commission his entire life, beginning at the Loyalsock Game Farm, and all three turkey farms before moving to the Southwest Game Farm where he retired as Superintendent. He was a Deputy Game warden most of his life. He loved the outdoors, wildlife and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Don was a member of the Plunketts Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he held several positions including chief. He was in the second EMT class in Pennsylvania and one of the first EMT’s in Lycoming County. He was the founder of the Plunketts Creek Township Fish Hatchery, that provided fish for local streams and kids fishing areas. He was a member of numerous clubs including Babylon Hunting Club, Upper Pine Creek Sportsmen Association, Highland Lake Manor 40-8, American Legion, and the V.F.W.
