Roger K. Bowers, 90, of Ridgway, died on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
On November 14, 1932, in Harrisburg, he was born a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bowers.
In 1961, he married the late Alyce Blair Bowers.
Roger served in the U.S Air force during the Korean War. He worked in insurance most of his life. Roger spent his free time golfing and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Cerequas, 2 grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Cerequas, and 2 sister in laws; Margaret Strandberg of Ridgway and Marth Blair of Cape Elizabeth, ME.

Dylan Andrew Floyd, 16, of Cherry Hill NJ, formerly of Bradford, died February 10, 2023, at Cooper University Hospital in Camden NJ.
Born June 9, 2006, he was a son of Douglas Graves and Starletta Lucas.
He attended Floyd C. Fretz and was currently a Junior at ADH High School in Cherry Hill.
He enjoyed playing XBox, mountain biking, swimming, art and photography, skateboarding, listening to music and helping others.
He is survived by his adopted parents, Rev. Barbara “Shelly” Floyd, of Bradford, and Rich Levine and Drew Shiffer of Cherry Hill NJ, one sister Gabrielle (Steve) Kelley, of Bradford, six brothers, Douglas Karns, of Bradford, Cory Floyd, of Curwensville, Nick Levine Shiffer, Andy McKay Levine, Kerry McKay Levine, and Nick Tomasello, all of NJ, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Vincenza M. “Dolly” Smith, 74, of 913 S. Michael Street, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born September 8, 1948, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Anthony and Vincenza Iozzo. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1966, and was a former employee of Stackpole Carbon, Pure Carbon, Palumbo’s Meat Market, and Elk Haven Nursing Home, where she was a cook.
On April 3, 1987, in Coudersport, PA, she married the late, William R. Smith, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 1, 2008.
Dolly is survived by her son, William Christoff, Jr and his wife Corine, of Wilcox; three grand-children: Calvin Christoff (Allyson), Molly Christoff, and Eric Christoff; two brothers: Bruno Iozzo and his wife Josie, of Coatsville, PA, and Sam Iozzo of Kersey.
Along with her husband and parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Green, and her brother, Nick Iozzo.
She was a member of the Queen of the World Church. She was dedicated to her daily walks with her girlfriends and would commit to six miles each day. She enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found feeding the birds and the squirrels around her house. Above all else, family was most important to her and cherished each moment with them, especially her grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Queen of the World Church with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Henrietta M. “Muffie” Cheatle, 77, of 233 Muenster Road, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at her residence, after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side.
She was born August 28, 1945 in DuBois, daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Shriner Chileski. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Bennetts Valley High School, Class of 1963. Muffie was a former employee of Clarion Sintered Metals in Ridgway.
On June 8, 1968, in Virginia, Muffie married Thomas E. Cheatle, who survives. They shared more than 54 years of love and happiness.
Along with her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cheri Cheatle of St. Marys; three brothers: Andrew Chileski (Rena) of Byrnedale, Alan Chileski of Ridgway, and Frank Chileski (Pat) of St. Marys; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews; and by her puppies, who meant the world to her.
Muffie was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a tremendous advocate for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday morning, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
Mary Nicklas, 88, formerly of N. Michael Street, St. Marys, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
Mary was born on November 2, 1934 in Johnsonburg, PA, a daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Solomon Santaniello.
On June 5, 1954 in Holy Rosary Church, she married the late Earl C. “Snuffy” Nicklas, who preceded her in death on September 2, 2009.
Mary graduated from Johnsonburg High School and was a member of the St. Marys Church. She retired from Sylvania after many years of service. Mary was a talented seamstress who spent a lot of time over the years sewing and doing alterations. She also enjoyed walking, reading, and her rock garden. She also loved tending to her garden and cooking for her family, especially her famous spaghetti sauce.
Mary is survived by 6 children; Steven (Loretta) Nicklas of Ridgway, Julie (Rick) Bish of St. Marys, Christine (Roger) Bennett of AL, Leslie (Mark) Sporner of St. Marys, Mark (Veronique) Nicklas of TX, and Wesley (Lela) Nicklas of CO; and by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters; Cecilia Weaver of OH, Dolores (Bruce) Lindgren of Johnsonburg, and Rita Gahr of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a grandson; Brandon Nicklas, by 2 brothers; Tony Santaniello and Andrew Santaniello, Jr., and by 5 sisters; Ann Struble, Kathy Wilson, Betsy McClain, Valerie Santaniello, and Theresa Bauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Nicklas will be celebrated on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Thomas More Sikora, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.

Gregory Robert DeRock, 74, of Statesville, NC passed away Thursday February 16, 2023 at Pennybyrn Nursing Facility in High Point, NC.
He was born February 15, 1949 in Olean, NY, to the late Lawrence Arthur DeRock and Virginia Paffie DeRock.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Gregory DeRock (fiancé, Sarah Woodlock), brother, Dennis DeRock (Beth)of Loganville GA, sister, Suzanne DeRock Jones (Lloyd) of Salisbury NC, sister, Tina DeRock Haas (Stuart) of Huntersville, NC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He spent his first 15 years of his life in Bolivar, New York before his family moved to NC where he graduated from Lexington Senior High School in Lexington. He graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he was an avid fan and supporter. Gregory was a registered nurse for 37 years and retired as a surgical nurse in 2017. After his retirement he continued his medical career as a hospice nurse. Greg’s life revolved around his family and he enjoyed his Italian heritage gatherings of his extended family. His humor was shared with all who knew him, and he touched many lives. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army. His strong Catholic faith carried him through his 4 year battle with ALS. He had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and prayed the rosary everyday.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 AM Friday, February 24 at Sacred Heart Church prior to the Mass of Christian Burial held at 10 AM in the Church, officiated by Rev John Eckert. Burial will be in Belmont Abbey Cemetery in Belmont NC at 2 PM.

Delene L. Miller, 73, of 311 Walnut Street, Kane, PA and formerly of Nederland, TX and Johnsonburg, died Saturday evening, February 18, 2023, at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, PA following a short illness.
She was born in Ridgway a daughter to Winifred Dougherty Smiley. On February 14, 1970 in Portville, NY she married Robert L. Miller. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2016.
Delene was a 1968 graduate of Johnsonburg High School and had lived in Kane for the past 2 years. She had lived in Nederland, TX for 30 years and had traveled the US with her husband for many years for his work as an oil field worker. She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Johnsonburg Diplomats Drum and Bugle Corps. and, along with her whole family, took part in Civil War reenactments. She also enjoyed being outdoors and traveling with her husband, especially trips on their Harley.
Delene is survived by her brother Eugene “Gene” Smiley of Johnsonburg and nieces and nephews Kathy Forman (Scott), Mary Harding (Trish Jagoda), Jimmy Harding (Sandy), John Harding, Bob Miler, Lynne Cooper (Mike), Jana White (Chris), Leslie Schloder (John) and Tim Smiley. Numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her mother and husband, Delene is predeceased by her sons Eric C. Miller and Kevin P. Miller.

J. Wayne Gular, 77, of Third St., Roulette, PA passed away Saturday (Feb. 18, 2023) in his home.
Born March 1, 1945, in Doylestown, PA, he was a son of Larry and Emma Prentice Gular. He married Gloria King, who survives.
Wayne was employed as an autobody repairman for many years before his retirement. He was a resident of area for 18 years coming from New Mexico.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR races whenever he could.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Gloria, is a son, Herbert S. (Nancy) Gular of Roulette; two daughters, LeAnne D. (Joseph) Bordhun of Roulette, Courtney J. Gular of Los Lumas, NM; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, W. Robert (Linda) Gular of Trooper, PA, Larry (Amy) Gular of Sckuylkill, PA; a sister, Louise (Scott) Christman of Coopersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his by his parents.

Jane P. Delhunty, 86, of Ridgway, died on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Highland View Nursing Home.
She was born on January 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Robert and Agnes Hill Patterson.
On December 7, 1957, she married the late Jack Delhunty, who preceded her in death on January 1, 1981.
Jane lived in the area for many years and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She worked at Peoples Savings & Loans and the Department of Welfare, retiring after 19 years of services. Jane was a avid fan of the Steelers. She loved dancing, golfing, traveling, and bicycling. For many years, on Wednesday, grandma Jane spent her night cooking and entertaining her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by 1 daughter, Debra Delhunty of Ridgway, 2 sons; Jack Delhunty and his wife Chris of Ridgway and Brian Delhunty of St. Marys, and 7 grandchildren; Brandon, Megan, Austin, Nathan, Katie, Trevor, and Forest, and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers: Kenneth Patterson and his wife Jerry of Portland Mills and Frances Patterson and his wife Pattie of Ridgway.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Doris Bowser and Peggy Shirley, and 3 brothers; Harold, Robert, and Charles Patterson.

Gary W. Slocum, age 84, of Elkland, PA passed away peacefully at his daughter (Kay’s) home in Painted Post, NY on Friday, February 17, 2023 with family by his side.
Born September 20, 1938 in Osceola, he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Barbara E. (Snyder) Slocum. Gary married Roselyn “Oddie” M. Frye in January 1959 and they shared 64 loving years together.
He was a retired machinist from Corning Glass Works, a self-taught stone mason and carpenter and started his own custom built long bows, called Indian River Bows. Gary was a well known local artist specializing in oil/acrylic country scenes and a musician; he loved good music and dancing with his wife. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Oddie; his children, Kim (John) Rimmer of Elkland, Karen (Tom) Fischer of Williamsport, Kay (Kevin) Burris of Painted Post, NY and Ward (Abby) Slocum of Lawrence, KS; nine grandchildren, Clinton (Christina) Slocum of Williamsport, Drew (Carlee) Slocum of Mechanicsburg, Jason (Tiffany) Hetzel of Osceola, Jamie (Brian) Clemons of Adams Center, NY, Christopher (Ashlea) Collum of Tioga, Jordan (Janelle) Collum of Tioga, Preston, Rosie and Bill Slocum; 18 great grandchildren, Sebastian, Jai, Yuna, Jensen and Kenlee Slocum, Taigen Riley, Briana, Benjamin, Rebekah, Jessa, Lauren and Weston Hetzel, Gracie and Remi Clemons and Olivia, Brock, Parker and Delaney Collum and a great great granddaughter, Jordyn Moorehouse.

Santa Barbara Newman, age 78, of Elkland, PA passed away at her home on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Born October 1, 1944 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice Ellen (Clark) Bardole.
She was a retired machine operator with the Electri-Cord in Westfield and worked at the Osceola Big M. Barb attended the Elkland United Methodist Church and the Friday morning breakfast group.
She is survived by her son, Timmy and Dolores Lampman of Little Marsh; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen and Thomas Traynor of Mills, PA; niece, Jackie and Brad Cronin of Meadville, PA and a nephew, Thomas Traynor, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA.

JoAnn Catherine (Witter) Clark, age 90 of Knoxville, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in Westfield, PA.
Born on October 11, 1932 in Westfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewell and Rose (Bollock) Witter. JoAnn was a 1950 graduate of Westfield High School where she was also the yearbook artist that year. Throughout high school, she was involved in cheerleading and was crowned Miss Westfield in 1949.
On June 11, 1950, JoAnn married Evert David Clark, and they spent almost 62 loving years together before his passing in May 2012. In her younger years, JoAnn enjoyed golfing and bowling; both she and Dave were members of the Westfield Bowling League.
She worked for a handful of years at Buffard’s Flower Shop in Knoxville, and was also trained in the Japanese art of flower arranging called ikebana during the time they were stationed in Japan. JoAnn was also a member of St. John’s Epicopal Church, Eastern Star, and the Lady’s Auxiliary of the Knoxville VFW, where she held all positions of president, treasurer, or secretary at one time or another.
She volunteered at the Knoxville Community Center, the voting booth during elections, and was part of the CVHS Alumni Association where she helped plan and set up yearly banquets. In her free time, she enjoyed rides through the countryside looking at animals and scenery, crocheting and knitting, solving crossword puzzles, bird watching, and spending time at the Knoxville Library. She also loved knitting dishcloths and other items that she gave to her friends and family.
JoAnn is survived by her sons – Patrick (Melissa) Clark of Westfield, PA, C. William Clark of Trumbauersville, PA, and Matthew (Diane) Clark of Emmaus, PA; her daughters – Gail (David) Wical of Temple, TX, Mona Lewis of Grand Prairie, TX, Brenda (Larry) Scott of Union Mills, NC, and April Clark of Knoxville, PA; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister – Jane Bianchi; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; husband – Evert Clark; son-in-law – George Lewis; grandchild – Jason Evert Wical; great grandchild – Luke Evert Wical; brothers – Richard, Lee, and Donald Witter; sisters – Shirley Ochsenhirt and Helen Abbott; and several close friends.

Terrance J. Daniels, 59, of Carlisle, PA, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (Feb. 15, 2023) at his residence.
Born April 6, 1963, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Terrance R. and Maureen Mullin Daniels.
Terry was a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1981. He enjoyed football and wrestling while in high school.
He had worked for Geer Construction Co., Mt. Jewett, and C & S Lumber Co., Roulette, while residing in area, before moving to Virginia Beach, VA. Most recently, he was employed as a truck driver.
Surviving in addition to his father, Terry R. Daniels, and stepmother, Karen Daniels of Port Allegany; is a stepbrother, Scott (Kathy) Lowery of Port Allegany; and a stepsister, Sondra “Sunny” Lowery of Mt. Jewett; several aunts & uncles, and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Mullin.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Richard D. “Rick” Losey, Jr., 61, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Austin, PA passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, February 12, 2023, after a long illness.
Born on Saturday, June 17, 1961 in Port Allegany, he was a son of Richard D. Sr. and Mary Anne McElwee Losey.
Rick was a graduate of Austin Area High School, Class of 1979. He was a self-employed logger, an occupation he truly loved.
He loved being in the woods. Rick was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a voracious reader.
Surviving are his son, Craig J. Losey of DuBois; two grandsons, Evan Losey and Noah Losey; a sister, Gayle (Les) Richner of Port Allegany; a brother, Gary L. (Gina) Losey of St. Leonard, Maryland; a nephew; a niece; and two grandnephews.
Rick was predeceased by his parents.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.

Bonnie Lucille McClain, 88, of Kane, PA, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at her home.
She was born on January 8, 1935, in Ridgway, the daughter of Thomas E. and Mabel A. Reaghart McClain.
Bonnie has been a resident of the area her whole life. She worked at the Arcade Restaurant then at Texas Hot Lunch in Kane. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and loved her family.
She is survived by one son, Merle McClain and wife Leslie of Davenport, Iowa, 3 grandchildren Trisha (Kalub) Ard of Sullivan,IL, Alex (Tiffanie) Young of Lovington, IL, and Alissa McClain of Hammond, MN, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Allen McClain, 4 brothers, and one sister.

Jane Meyer, 61, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 23, 1961, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Willis and Esther Roth Meyer. At the age of four Jane was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Esther and Willis made the difficult decision to send their beloved little girl to a residential program in Philadelphia to learn motor and life skills. At the age of eight, thrilled to be back home, she began a program of home-bound schooling. In 1975 the local school district started a class for the physically handicapped and eventually Jane was mainstreamed into a local class for high school. Her high school graduation in 1980 was a proud moment and just the start of a rich life for a ferociously determined Jane. As a young adult, Jane moved to Pittsburgh to take classes in independent living, studying everything from meal preparation and financial management to self-protection and decision-making.
In 1986 Jane realized her life-long goal to live independently when she moved into her own apartment at Allegheny Independent House in Wilmerding, PA where she lived for over 20 years. She took college classes, attended baseball games, shopped, spent time with friends, and loved hosting her family. She was a pioneer in independent living, receiving numerous awards for her fortitude and courage.
In 2009 Jane moved back to St Marys to be closer to family, and has lived at Elk Haven since 2011 where she found the care and comfort she needed to make her life full. Jane was proud and excited to accept a position there delivering mail to residents. Her family shares the loss of her brilliant, funny, joyful presence with her Elk Haven family.
Jane loved reading, swimming, Yahtzee, backgammon (games of any sort), football (she loved the Dallas Cowboys) and all types of learning (books, classes). Her life’s motto was “never give up” and her familiar “thumbs up” gesture was her go-to symbol of affirmation and of her unflagging positive attitude. Anyone who engaged with Jane was immediately gifted with her mega-watt smile. The challenge of CP helped to make Jane an extraordinary person whose indomitable spirit touched many lives.
Jane is survived by two sisters: Cindy Sabik (Mark) of Cleveland, OH and Lori Renwick (Joseph) of St. Marys; three brothers: Bill Meyer (Vicki) of Cleveland, OH, Jeff Meyer (Tina) of St. Marys, and Joel Meyer (Jennifer) of St. Marys, and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sister Mary (in infancy).
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Queen of the World Church on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pamela R. Callahan, 69, of 201 W. 7th St., Emporium, PA passed away at Penn Highlands DuBois, DuBois, PA on Thursday morning (February 16, 2023). She was born July 6, 1953 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Henry G. and Loretta M. Wollaston Klees. She married David Callahan in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Emporium, PA.
Pam graduated from Cameron County High School. She worked
briefly for the FBI and then in the local service industry, in addition to raising 4 very special children and a husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kerri Crunkilton (Richard), Westminster, MD; two sons, James Callahan (Chelsea), Emporium and Mark Callahan (Hope), Culpeper, VA; six grandchildren: Kendra, Madison, Katelyn, Lexi, Eisley and Luke; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Willis G. Klees, and a sister, L. Sandra Lyon.
The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on March 10, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm followed by a service at 6:30 PM officiated by Father Matthew Ryan.

Harold J. Young, 95, of Bradford, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
He was born on October 15, 1927 in DuBois, a son of the late Charles and Kathleen Munshower Young.
He was a 1945 graduate of the former St. Catherine’s High School, DuBois and he earned his Associate degree in accounting from St. Francis of Loretto.
On July 28, 1951 in Atlantic City, NJ, he married Mary Ann Rumberger who survives.
He was a former Township Supervisor for Smithfield Township in Huntingdon County; a charter member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Company; a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church; a former member of the Bradford Exchange Club; while living in Huntingdon he belonged to the Jaycees; after his retirement he bought an RV and traveled around the USA and Canada with his wife. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Pine Acres Country Club. When he was younger he enjoyed going to Canada and fishing with his dad.
He was employed as an accountant for the JC Blair Memorial Hospital at Huntingdon, the DuBois Hospital and finally the Bradford Hospital; where he retired in 1984.
In addition to his wife of 71 years, Mary Ann Young of Bradford, he is also survived by five children; Patricia (Steve) Kornacki of Bradford, Steve (Tommie) Young of Bradford, Bruce (Kris) Young of Springville, NY, Michael (Barb) Young of Towson, MD and Christine (Aaron) Truitt of Reynoldsville; twelve grandchildren, Paul (Jessica Doman) Kornacki, Kristin Kornacki, Bryan Kornacki, Travis Neely, Stephanie (Shane) Speaker, Rebekah Young, Sarah Young, Amanda (Rupert) Young, Mike Young, Jon (Carlee) Young, Zach Truitt and Ian Truitt; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Edward Young.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the St. Bernard Catholic Church with the Rev. James Gutting, senior associate pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Irvin S. Pontious, 81, of Cuneo Road, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in DuBois, PA.
He was born on January 22, 1942 in Kersey, PA, a son of the late Alvin and Olive Himes Pontious.
He was married to the late Carol Groeger Pontious, who preceded him in death in 2008.
Irvin was a lifelong resident of the area and worked for Stackpole Carbon Company, Brockway Glass, and Motion Control. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Ridgway Rifle Club, and also volunteered his time as a 4-H leader for Stride for Stride. He had a passion for horse training, and also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved going for bike rides, hiking, and his dog, Calamity.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Penny Wonderly and her husband Joe and Jennifer Anderson and her husband Ed, both of Kersey; one son; Irvin “Chip” Pontious, Jr. and his wife Renee of Sigel, by 9 grandchildren; Jonathan DeFrain, Amanda Baum, Jacob DeFrain, Dylan Pontious, Alyssa Pontious, Devin Pontious, Dahlton Pontious, Jade and Jax Pontious, and by 6 great-grandchildren; Gavin, Karmela, Olivia, Owen, Leo, and Noah.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Irvin was preceded in death by his son; Jason Pontious, two sisters; Shirley Anderson and Dorothy Swanson, and by two brothers; Floyd Pontious and Howard Pontious.
A Memorial Service for Irvin S. Pontious will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Krise Funeral Home in Kersey, 339 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846, with Rev. Ron Burkett officiating.
Family and friends will be received at the Krise Funeral Home in Kersey from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Joseph Michael Flint, 65, of Port Allegany, passed away Wednesday (February 15, 2023) at his home, with family by his side, in Port Allegany.
He was born May 2, 1957 in Olean, NY, a son of Martin A. and Eileen Rose Crowley Flint.
Joseph was a 1975 graduate of Port Allegany High School.
He worked at the Quaker State Station in Port Allegany. He then worked for Saint Gobain, now Ardagh Group, as a Lab Technician retiring in 2019 having worked there for 34 years.
He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking in his shop and spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by a daughter; Melissa (Erik) Shepski, of West Chester PA,
Three granddaughters; Adeline, Evie and Quinn Shepski of West Chester, PA
One brother; Martin A. (Susan) Flint of Port Allegany PA,
Two sisters; Catherine (Patrick) Foley of Troutman NC and Patricia Anne (Rick Francis) Burdick of Rudhford NY.
And many nieces and nephews.
At Joe’s request there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.

Floyd K. “Gus” Nelson, age 95, of Milton, DE passed away peacefully on January 29, 2023. Born in Bradford, PA he was the son of the late Floyd and Isabelle (Giles) Nelson of Bradford, PA.
Floyd worked for Dresser and Plexowood Manufacturing in Bradford, PA prior to retirement and moving to Delaware. He was a proud veteran, stationed at Camp Perry during WWII while serving his country in the Unites States Navy. He was a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason.
Floyd was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer from his hunting lodge. He was a master craftsman who built all his homes with his wife, Anna, by his side. Earlier in their marriage, Floyd and Anna enjoyed travel and together they explored and discovered much of the wonders of the United States together. He was a friend to many, ready to lend a helping hand. Floyd believed in helping those who may not be able to help themselves and he dedicated many hours to charity work – quietly and without seeking recognition. His devotion to his family, however, took precedence above all and the time spent with those he held dear was what he cherished most. He was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, Mason, and friend who will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.
He was the loving husband of Anna Marsh Nelson for 67 years at the time of her death. Floyd is survived by three of his six children: Judy (George), Floyd (Kathy) and Joann. Floyd also is survived by his remaining sibling, Margaret Angevine of Warren, PA. Also surviving are his grandchildren – all of whom he loved dearly, and many nieces and nephews who fondly called him “Uncle Gus”.
