Rose A. Pire, 93, of 7 Charlotte Avenue, Bradford, passed away, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Frick Hospital, in Mt. Pleasant.
Born July 1,1929, in Bradford, she was one of ten children of the late Harold and Ena (Hardy) Ackley.
On March 31, 1944, in Bradford, she married Ronald A. Pire Jr. who preceded her in death on June 28, 1986.
Rose was a stay at home mom and she also provided child care for other children and family members.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary, and also volunteered for the Salvation Army.
Rose is survived by three daughters, Linda (Richard) Tyger, of Bradford, Judy (William) Frutiger, of Bradford, and Rhonda Dooner, of Pittsburgh, two sons Wes (Deb) Pire, of Bradford, Ronald (Kelly) Pire, of Pittsburgh, 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Leslie Pire, one daughter, Carol Thacker, six brothers, Lawrence, Clifford, Roland, Robert, Leo, and Clarence Ackley, three sisters, Marjorie McCormick, Violet Buchanan, and Anna South and her longtime companion Elmer Cirigliano.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, where funeral services will be held at Noon, with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
