Burdette Lewis “Bud” MERRELL, 84, of Olean, NY, formerly of Bolivar, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Eden Heights, Olean.
Born July 26, 1939, in Nunda, he was the first born of seven children of Clarence and Pearl Buffum Merrell. On June 4, 1960, in Rochester, he married Clara Anne Gerew, who predeceased him on December 20, 2022. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served honorably as a hospital corpsman from 1956 – 1959.
He was employed by Wellsville Central School for many years, retiring in 1995. Bud also worked as a farmer for many years. Active in his community, he served on the Bolivar-Richburg Central School Board for four years, oversaw the Bolivar Food Pantry for eight years, and served on the Bolivar Fire Commission. He coached youth sports, football, softball, baseball, and basketball, for many years in Avon, Wellsville, and Bolivar. In his later years, he spent much of his time fishing, watching high school sports, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his cat, Pussycat. Bud was a member of Riverside Assembly of God in Wellsville. He resided at Eden Heights in Olean, where the staff became a second family to him.
Wooden boat restorer Donald Andrew Thibeault, Jr., who learned his skills at Flyer’s Boatyard in Provincetown, died at his home in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. on Feb. 23, 2024. He had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in early January; he and his wife, Kathleen, spent his last 45 days with “deepening closeness,” she said. Don was 70.

Don learned boat building as a teenager and nearly 50 years later worked for Moores Marine on the restoration of John F. Kennedy’s presidential yacht Honey Fitz in West Palm Beach.
The son of Donald Andrew Thibeault and Marie Allene (Smith) Thibeault, Don was born on Sept. 9, 1953 in Coudersport, Pa. He grew up on various farms where his father worked, one being an experimental high-altitude truck farm that grew peaches and potatoes in industrial quantities. Jay E. Furman, 79, a resident of Evergreen Elm since 1981, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Bradford Manor.
Born March 31, 1944 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Rosalee May Furman. Due to the untimely death of his mother, Jay was also cared for by his grandmother, Helen Furman and later by his aunt, Bertha Howard, residing in the Port Allegany area.
Jay attended school in Ulysses. Upon moving to Bradford, he was employed at Futures Rehabilitation Center, from 1981 until 2024, attending the Work Center Program performing assembly work along with participating in the Community Integration Program where he went to various locations within the community to socialize.
Patricia Ann Tehle, 85, formerly of 21 Potter Street, Bradford, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at The Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born on March 31, 1938, in Bradford, she was the only child of the late Patsy and Nancy (Rich) Rizzo.
On April 11, 1964, in St. Bernard Church, she married Joseph D. Tehle, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1999.
Patty was a 1956 graduate of Bradford Area High School where she was Student Council President. Patty was a 1959 graduate of Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, NY. She was President of the Student Council in her junior and senior years. She graduated with an associate degree in nursing.
After graduation, Patty worked in the operating room at Bradford Hospital, Bradford, Daytona Beach General Hospital, Daytona Beach, FL, and Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA. She also worked in labor and delivery at Bradford Hospital, the McKean County VNA, and retired from the Bradford Ecumenical Home. She was a registered nurse for forty years. She was named Nurse of the Year in 1990. She along with her husband owned and operated the City Line Restaurant for nearly 20 years.
Patty was a member of St. Bernard Church in Bradford. She spent two terms as President of the Bradford Hospital Nurses Organization.
KEATING SUMMIT – John M. “Ripchuck” Ricklefs, 70, passed away Friday (Mar. 8, 2024) in UPMC Cole Coudersport.
Born October 25, 1953, in Glendale, AZ, he was a son of John W. and Patricia M. Baker Ricklefs. On Mar. 4, 2002, in Coudersport, he married Linda C. Stebick, who survives.
John was a self-employed contractor and had worked for Sea Ray Boats, while living in Florida. Most recently he had worked at C& S Lumber Co. of Roulette, before his retirement.
He was a veteran having served with the US Navy, during the Vietnam War.
John was a resident of the area since the mid 1990’s, coming from Indiana.
He loved the outdoors and working with wood. He also enjoyed drawing, swimming, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Paul Godfrey Mosch, 92, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania passed peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Born October 20, 1931 in Galeton, PA, he was the youngest of eight children. His parents were the late Otto and Mable Burrous Mosch.
He was Salutatorian of the Galeton High School class of 1949. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy. Paul received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Pennsylvania graduating with honors in 1956. During that time, he was inducted to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor fraternity. Paul then served two years in the United States Navy as a Dental Officer in Quantico, VA. After his time with the Navy, Paul opened private practice in Coudersport, PA. He remained a solo practitioner for 38 years. He was a member of the American Dental Association, PA Dental Assoc, American Endodontic Society, and past President of the 8th District Dental Society.
Paul wore many hats; he was a member of Eulalia Lodge 342, York Rite, and Scottish Rite Freemasonry bodies. He also served as District Deputy Grand Master of Blue Lodge and Council, and Commander in Chief of the Coudersport Consistory. His commitment and leadership in the Masons was recognized by his peers and led them to nominate him for the 33rd degree of Scottish Rite Masonry and the York Rite Cross of Honor, Freemason’s highest honors.
He was an active member at the First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport and Hampton Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia where he sang in both choirs and served as a deacon for both as well. He was a member of Hosanna Industries, a mission-building group. He went to Mexico on a church mission trip. Paul’s favorite pastime was piloting his Beechcraft V35A. He traveled with his wife and family over the years to many destinations across the United States. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and completed the Potter County Marathon. Paul inspired those around him with his boundless passion, perseverance and commitment to excellence in everything he did. He will be greatly missed.
Paul is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 68 years, Dorothy Ann (McMurray); son, Thomas O. Mosch and his wife, Terry; daughter, Debra Mosch Hunkele and her husband Glenn; son, David P. Mosch and his wife Kimberlie; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hampton Presbyterian Church, 2942 East Hardies Road, Gibsonia PA 15044, church service will be at 12:00.

Kevin R. Saline, 55, of Emporium, PA passed away unexpectedly at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Springs, Maryland on Sunday evening (March 10, 2024).
He was born January 12, 1969 in St. Marys, PA a son of Robert and Cindy Housler Saline and the late Christine Yeager Saline. On May 30, 1992 in St. Mark Catholic Church he married Rochele Guisto, who survives.
Kevin graduated from Cameron County High School and from Williamsport Area Community College. He worked at Quala-Die/ Penn United for many years. He liked camping with his friends, spending time with his two boys, hanging out at Rooster’s garage and loved going on vacations with his wife Rochele. He was a wrestling coach, in Emporium, for over 16 years.
GREECE, NY – Dorothy Emerson, 96, formerly of Eldred, PA, died peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024, with family at Journey Home in Greece.
Dorothy was born on May 30, 1927, at her maternal grandparents’ home in Sheffield, PA. She and her family lived in Coryville, PA during her first nine years. In 1936, her family moved to Eldred where she and her younger sister and brother grew up; all three graduated from Eldred High School.
During high school, Dorothy worked as an usher in the town theater and at Anderson’s Food Market. Unbeknownst to her at the time, her supervisor at the food market would become her mother-in-law. She met US Army Tech Sergeant Walter Emerson while he was on leave from the fighting in Europe during World War II. After serving over three years in the European Theater, Walter returned to Eldred, and they were married on May 22, 1946.
Dorothy and Walter lived in Eldred for over twenty years and raised three children. They were active in the community and in St. Raphael Catholic Parish. Dorothy was a devoted and loving Mother; dedicated to raising their three children. Due to Walter’s employment, they eventually relocated to Maynard, MA; Keene, NH; and then Conklin, NY. As their children became teenagers and young adults, Dorothy enjoyed re-entering the workforce at ACME Electric in Allegheny, NY, Sears and Roebucks in Natick, MA, and Concord Laboratories, Inc. in Fitzwilliam and Keene, NH.
Edward J. Isaman, 76, of Homosassa FL, formerly of Allegany, NY passed away peacefully at home on March 8th, 2024.
Ed was born May 16th, 1947, to John Merle and Alice (Randall) Isaman of Allegany, NY. After graduating from Allegany High School Edward proudly served our country and was a United States Army Veteran. After returning home to Allegany, Ed drove school bus and retired from Allegany Limestone Central Schools. Edward was a long-time member of The Allegany American Legion Post 892 where he acquired many friends who he considers family. Ed enjoyed a good game of euchre, Texas Holdem, or horseshoes. He even enjoyed a simple game of SKAT around the family table or having a bonfire. He was a good horseman and liked to ride side by sides. He played Santa Claus for the Santa Claus Lane Parade and for local Hospitals and Nursing Homes. Ed’s friends and family meant the world to him.
Wayne Gunther “Rambler” Muhsemann, age 66 of Clarkrange, TN passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Cumberland Medical Center.

In the early morning of February 24, 2024, Donald Arvis Quick entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Don was born on April 18, 1931 in Wellsville, New York to Lloyd Gilman Quick and Mary Elizabeth Bellamy.
After graduating from Alfred University in upstate New York with a degree in ceramic engineering, Don began his long journey from a ceramic engineer to CEO of several corporations within the tile, brick, and textile industries. He would also intertwine years served with the US Army.
Along with his ever-growing family, Don would be grateful for work opportunities that would allow him to travel all over the globe.
On February 21, 1953, Don married his high school sweetheart, Anna Ruth Dietze (Anne). They parented five children and had thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Don’s unwavering dedication to family and friends alike exuded the love his Father in Heaven presents to all he knew. Never would a day end without Don praying for over his loved ones.

William “Bill” Brem, 68, of Oldsmar, Florida, earned his angel wings on March 4, 2024. Bill was a native of St Marys. He was the son of the late George “Jingles” and Christine (Meholic) Brem.
Bill is survived by his wife Patricia (Cosentino) Brem, daughters Jennifer Brem of Fort Worth, Texas, Rachael Brem of Dubois, and his favorite furry child Sophie; sister Joan Hockman (Tom) of Dubois, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a former police officer at the St. Marys Police Department and a corrections officer at the Elk County Prison in Ridgway. In 2010, he moved to Florida to pursue his passion for conducting traffic accident reconstruction with ARCCA.
Marlene A. Bisker, 70, of Hermitage, PA passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in her home.
Ms. Bisker was born on May 31, 1953, in Oil City, PA, and was raised in Bradford, PA, and lived the last 50 years in Hermitage. She was the daughter of the late Martin H. and M. Jane (Griffith) Bisker.
Marlene was a graduate of Sharon Regional School of Nursing, Duquesne University, University of Pittsburgh, Washington School of Anesthesia, and California University of PA.
Following retirement, Marlene volunteered at several local food banks and for 30 years, enjoyed boating at Shenango Dam, cooking and entertaining friends, as well as producing small woodworking projects.
Chantel L. Cline passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2024.
She was born in Hornell, NY July 3, 1978, she was the daughter of Edward W. Gordon and Carolyn Reniff Gordon. She was predeceased by her dad in April of 2004. Chantel was in the last graduating class from Angelica Central School in 1996. From there, she went on to graduate from Corning Community College.
While growing up in Allegany County, Chantel had four strong women as important role models in her life, each holding a special place in her heart. These women are Judy Pomeroy, Brenda Green-Vaughn, Pam Hutchison, and Cindy Davis.
In 2002, Chantel gave birth to her son, Jakobe, an absolute blessing. She had always wanted a son and he was just perfect. She worked extra hard to ensure that Jakobe had everything in life that he needed. She was so proud of Jakobe and everything he accomplished.
Chantel met Eric and they dated for 8 years before marrying in August of 2012. While being polar opposites, their relationship just worked. Eric used to love to get in the X3 and go as fast as he could, while Chantel would be in the passenger seat, telling him to slow down. He’d give her that smile and say “You’re as safe as a toad in Gods pocket” then he’d slow down.
Chantel’s younger sister, Cheylyn was an important part of her life. While they rarely saw each other in person, they watched each other’s children grow up via the internet. Rarely a day passed that the sisters did not message each other at least once, if not 100 times.
Chantel is survived by her mother, Carolyn Reniff Gordon, her husband and rock Eric Cline, her amazing and wonderful son Jakobe Gordon, her talented sister Cheylyn (Raymond) Adams along with their children Davia, Jase, Abriauna, and Callan, along with special kids Addie and Gus.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday (March 14, 2024) from 11am-2pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, in Angelica. The family will have a private funeral and graveside service.

LeRoy J. Soble, 92, of Langmaid Lane, Bradford, PA passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, surrounded by his family at Olean General Hospital.
Born June 24,1931, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Archie D. and Bessie D. (Wimpy) Soble.
LeRoy enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard while in high school. He graduated in 1949 from Bradford High School and was ordered into active duty in the United States Army on February 14, 1950. He was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge on June 24, 1953.
On December 30, 1950, at the First United Methodist Church in Bradford, he married the love of his life, Arlene M. (Stoddard) Soble, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2017.
LeRoy worked as a meat cutter while in High School, returned to the trade after serving three years in the service, and worked 28 years for Loblaws and Tops. He retired from Olean Wholesale.
He was a member of and Past Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge #334, served as President the Bradford Lions Club and was a member for over 30 years. He was a former Cub Scout Leader, President of the West Branch PTO, and volunteered with the West Branch Little League.
LeRoy enjoyed hunting, home projects, time spent with family, and a good steak off the grill. After retirement, he pursued golf and he and Arlene Wintered in Myrtle Beach, SC for numerous winters.
Janet L. Pesce, 83, formerly of 237 Madison Street, St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2024, at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born April 3, 1940, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edward and Edna Zwald Leithner.
On May 2, 1959 in Queen of the World Church, she married the late Robert J. Pesce, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 8, 2023. They were blessed to share 64 years of marriage together.
Janet was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1958. She was employed at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide in the emergency room.
Smethport – Thomas P. Murphy, Sr., 75, of Smethport, PA passed away Thursday (March 7, 2024) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.
He was born November 27, 1948 in Olean, NY, the son of Pascal and Harriet (Smith) Murphy. On January 26, 1973, in Farmers Valley, PA, he married Noressa Kay Rote, who died April 16, 2018.
Tom was a 1967 graduate of Smethport High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Tom worked at North Penn Gas Co., now UGI, of Port Allegany for over 40 years, retiring in 2013.
He was a Life Member of the VFW Post #2497 of Smethport. He loved deer and turkey hunting, along with trapping game.
Virginia T. (Oshier) Mullen, age 85, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Born on November 15, 1938, in Faust, NY, Virginia, the daughter of the late Aleric and Hazel (Ayotte) Oshier and the beloved wife of George H. Mullen. Virginia enjoyed a loving childhood in North Tonawanda, NY, and spent her summers with relatives and maternal grandmother Delia Lagoy Ayotte at the family’s ancestral home in Tupper Lake. There, she learned to swim at Moody Beach on Little Wolf Pond, going on to teach swimming and lifesaving to generations of children.
Roxanna Dwyer “beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt”
COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Roxanna “Roxy” Dwyer, 82, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, passed on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at UPMC Cole Place, Coudersport, after a lengthy illness.
Born July 7, 1941, in Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edgar D. and Betty French Brewer. On May 5, 1970, she married the love of her life, Andrew J. Dwyer, who passed away on September 16, 2019.
Roxy was a member of the wonderful CHS Class of 1959 and served as the Senior Class Secretary. After graduation, she attended Fairmont State University, WV, and St. Bonaventure University, NY, majoring in English. She held many jobs: telephone operator, bookkeeper for her father’s Central Buick Garage, owner-operator in the trucking industry, and outbound telephone sales.
Roxy loved children and enjoyed teaching CCD classes for many years at St. Eulalia. She also loved animals, especially dogs, and her chestnut gelding, Jimmy Boy. Roxy was an accomplished rider, an excellent dancer, and an amazing singer, blessed with a beautiful soprano voice. She was also the family photographer, compiling hundreds of photos over the years.
Roxy loved to travel and was fortunate to travel across the country with Andrew in their 18-wheeler. She enjoyed Disney World with her grandchildren, and several cruises, including a trip to Italy where she was able to visit the Vatican, a life-long dream. She was unselfish to a fault, often neglecting her own needs for the needs and well-being of her family.
Alice Lorraine Childs: Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister
Alice Lorraine Childs, 96, of County Road 40, Clarksville, NY passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Absolut of Salamanca after a short illness.
Born on October 3, 1927, in Olean, she was a daughter of Louis E. and Cyrene Keller Kellogg. She had been married to Harold Schmidt, Henry Benjamin, and Floyd Sisson and last to Albert F. Childs, all who predeceased her.
Lorraine was a graduate of Olean High School Class of 1945. While in high school she was employed at Dewey White’s Convenience Store. She later graduated from Olean Business Institute.
After her graduation from Olean Business Institute, she had worked at the St. Francis Hospital in Olean, Parish Hardware in Portville, AVX in Olean and last owned and operated Alice’s Restaurant in Franklinville.
Lorraine was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church and her religion was very important to her. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Alisia S. Wood, 50, of 9729 Main Street, Machias, NY passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on September 12, 1973, in Missoula, Montana, she was a daughter of Donald Wood and Beverly Duvall.
Alisia was a graduate of Rushford Central School.
Some of her fondest childhood memories are spending time on Rushford Lake. She loved to travel, any type of water and lived her life to the fullest. Her grandchildren were the center of her life. She was also proud to have been a cancer survivor.
Daniel K. “Mack” Lechner, 82, of St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 8, 2024.
He was born on June 5, 1941 in St. Marys, PA, a son of the late William and Sophie Barbarich Lechner.
On November 25, 1961, at Queen of the World Church, he married Carol Nussbaum, who survives. Together they shared more than 62 years of love, laughter, and marriage.
Mack was a 1959 graduate of Elk County Catholic High School. He went on to retire from Keystone Thermometrics after many years of service. He was a member of the St. Marys Moose, and in his free time enjoyed playing cards and going on trips to Salamanca. Mack excelled at bowling and was the city singles champ at one time. He could often be found telling jokes and making people laugh, or spending time on his porch taking care of flowers and watching hummingbirds. His family was the highlight of his life, he loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, and going for car rides with his loving wife.
Gloria J. Vecellio, 87, of W. Irvine Street, Lewis Run, PA passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Friday, March 8, 2024, at her residence.
Born August 6, 1936, in Crosby, she was a daughter of the late Albin and Ida (Frigo) Faes. She attended school in Crosby and graduated from Smethport High School.
On August 4, 1956 in Smethport, she married Clayton V. Vecellio, who survives.
Gloria was employed at Allegheny Bradford Corporation.
