The Potter County Education Council Is Seeking An Applicant For A Part-time Evening Clerical Position


Elk County- United Way board members presented a $4,610 grant award to the Crystal Fire Department. The Fire Department applied for the funding to purchase carbon fiber air bottles and facepieces.
The Crystal Fire Department is an all-volunteer department protecting the citizens of the City of St. Marys, PA. Bill Kraus, Fire Chief is accepting the check on behalf of the fire department along with other volunteer firefighters. The department reports having 90 active volunteer firefighters.

COUDERSPORT – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) will offer information about a variety of state programs and services during this year’s Potter County Fair.
“I encourage anyone with questions or concerns about state government to come by and see us at the fair, or simply stop by to say ‘hello,’” Causer said.
Causer’s table will be staffed in the evenings from Monday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 4. The table will include state maps, as well as brochures and booklets on state programs and services.

Isaac Fessenden and Chloe Cramer, both 2023 graduates of Port Allegany High School, were presented with the June Dunn Memorial Scholarships awarded through the Port Allegany Women’s Club.
The presentation was made during a recent Concert on the Town Square hosted by PAWC. June Dunn was a long-time music educator at Port Allegany High School. The first scholarship was awarded to Maria Mantz, Class of 2000.
Isaac will be attending Mansfield University and majoring in Music Technology.
Chloe will be attending Ithaca College and majoring in Music Education.

BRADFORD, Pa. – Students at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will not see their tuition increase for the 2023-24 academic year.
The University of Pittsburgh made the announcement Wednesday following a vote by its Board of Trustees that approved the university’s budget and set tuition rates at all five Pitt campuses.
While Pitt did increase tuition for in-state and out-of-state undergraduate students at its Pittsburgh campus, tuition at the regional campuses will remain the same.

DEP to host public hearing on proposed Clara Township, Potter County injection well on Tuesday evening, July 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Gunzburger County Office Building located at 1 North Main Street, Coudersport in Potter County Pennsylvania.
